"So, do you believe that Lucas really has telekinetic powers?" Castle asked as Kate swayed in his arms to the music. "Or Jordan, covering for Lucas?"

"No." She whispered in his ear.

"That's a word no one wants to hear from his prom date." Castle teased.

Kate pulled him to her more tightly, rubbed her boobs against his chest, then moved back. "Does that answer your question, Mr. Rodgers?" She teased back.

"But you're still a skeptic, in spite of CSU finding no evidence of any wires or magnets or anything else that could explain what we saw?"

"Once Lucas showed us the video of him and Madison Beaumont faking her telekinetic event, we let them go. Plenty of time for one or both of them to get rid of the evidence."

"And get ready for the prom, and get here as well?"

Kate took a quick look at Lucas and Jordan, still dancing with each other, oblivious to the rest of the room. "I doubt that it took either of them more than five minutes to get ready. Still plenty of time. How long would it take to get rid of a few feet of fishing line and a few magnets? Either one of them could have tossed it in the trash on the way here. If you want to go dumpster diving, count me out. And forget about getting lucky tonight, big boy." She quickly pressed her boobs against his chest again.

"And Principal Duncan was unable to find any fishing line or magnets in the cafeteria?"

Kate nodded. "Same thing. Lucas was still there and was the only one not totally freaked out by what they'd just seen. While everyone else was panicking, he cleaned up after himself and made a clean getaway."

"You have an answer for everything, don't you?"

Kate nodded and kissed him lightly on his cheek. "My best answer was saying yes to the handsome young man who asked me to prom tonight."

"Like I said, you have an answer for everything." He kissed her back.

"Mr. Castle!" Principal Duncan said, suddenly at their side. "Please try to contain your…romantic aspirations with this young lady. We have rules here at Faircroft. In spite of what you may think."

"She's my fiancé." Castle said heatedly. "We're adults and we're not Faircroft students."

"And I'm a police officer." Kate added.

"That does not give you the right to smooch in front of the students, Mr. Castle. If they see you get away with that sort of thing, they'll think they can as well. We can't have that."

"We wouldn't want them to get an early start on the post-prom orgy." Castle muttered under his breath.

"What did you say, Mr. Castle?" Duncan demanded.

"He said he understands completely and we'll behave." Kate said sweetly.

"Very well then." Duncan smiled and walked away. As soon as Duncan had turned his back, Castle kissed Kate quickly on the lips.

"I wish I had a cow." Castle whispered.

"Don't you dare."

"My cow man is no longer available. Sadly."

"Are you sure you got tossed out solely because you were a scholarship kid?" Kate asked, but with a smile. "You weren't an… instigator? A known offender? A hardened…prankster?"

"Kate! You wound me to the core. How could you think such a thing?"

Kate frowned, concentrating fiercely. "Um, because I've known you for six years?"

"Could I perhaps make some sort of a plea bargain?"

"No. You're sentenced to a lifetime in the custody of Kate Beckett."

"I'll take it."

Once back at the loft, Castle continued dancing with Kate in the living room. "So you don't believe in the possibility of telekinesis? Even after Dr. Rampanel?"

"Like I said, I've seen that done in Vegas."

"So, you don't believe in telekinesis, ESP, zombies, extra-terrestrials, time travel, any of that?"

She shook her head. "I will believe in any and all of those things when someone provides me with scientific proof that they exist. So far, no one has."

"What about the complete lack of evidence of any special effects to explain what we've seen?"

"Castle, lack of evidence of a thing is not evidence of it."

Castle frowned. "What did Conan-Doyle have Sherlock Holmes say? "How often have I said to you that when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth?"

"The game is afoot, Sherlock Castle." Kate shot back. "But you've eliminated nothing that's impossible, since special effects is a possible answer. And Lucas told us that that's how he did it. That is what we detectives call evidence. A confession."

Castle rolled his eyes this time. "Now I know how Sherlock Holmes felt with Dr. John Watson always questioning his brilliant theories."

"But could Dr. Watson do this?" Kate stood on her toes and kissed him, pushing her tongue into his mouth and taking his hand and putting it over one boob.

Finally they broke and Castle took a deep breath. "Wow! Maybe Watson could have done that, but nowhere near as well."

"See?" She teased, taking his hand and leading him towards the bedroom.

"But you don't believe in anything magical, still?"

"Of course I believe in magic, Castle."

"What?" He stopped, pulling her up short. "You believe in magic? You believe in magic?"

"You once told me that if I didn't believe in magic, I'd never find it."

"You found magic?" Castle looked at her skeptically.

She touched her finger to his chest. "That I did. Right there. You magically tore down walls that had been keeping my heart a prisoner for decades. You first showed me that the story matters. You showed me how to have fun. You showed me that I could love someone without being consumed by the fear that I'd lose that love. You showed me that no matter how many stupid things I did, that you would always be there for me. You showed that I would find the love and the family that I thought I'd never have. You showed me that as long as I believed, miracles would happen. If that isn't magic, I don't know what is."

Rick bowed. "Katherine Houghton Beckett, you are truly remarkable."

"And I found our song. Now come with me." She pulled him to the bedroom. "I have more magic for you."
