Jassica's eyes widened in shock at Nalina's sudden outburst. The youngest sister was always the timid one, often lost in her own world of books and studies. To see her so worked up was as surprising as it was alarming.
"Nalina, what's wrong?" Eliana's voice was gentle, a stark contrast to the harshness of the conversation. She stepped closer to her sister, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder.
Nalina's eyes flashed with anger and something else, something deeper. "Did you not hear, he killed more than 500 demons single-handedly, and saved our homeland, Kuli," she spat out the words, her voice trembling with barely contained rage. "And we just stand here and insult him? That's treason!"
"We're not insulting him," Jassica said through gritted teeth, her eyes narrowed. "We're just saying that our work was more important. We had duties to attend to," she explained, her voice firm.
