The Stir of the Great Star

Chapter 9: The Stir of the Great Star

Liam arrived at the Northern End of the island. Besides the occasional monsters that roam from time to time, everything was rather normal.

Liam then used his free time looking for the possible place where he should 'investigate'. He forgot to ask the chief if there was a story behind building 4 gates.

The southern part was where the light stone was, however there was nothing on the north. Liam decided to have an early lunch first before going back to investigate.

Liam cooked an egg for him and fried the remaining rice he cooked on dinner time yesterday. Liam was focused on cooking because there was no clue on the northern part yet. So he decided to leave it all behind.

Besides, he was not in a hurry after thinking it through that he was already late playing the game for at least six and half months so spending 2 or 3 days on beginner village wasn't that bad as he first thought.

After cooking his meal, he ate quickly before lifting some 3 kg weights for his arms. He waited until the clock was almost 12PM before he stopped lifting weights.

Liam laid down and logged in. He forgot to log out on the safe zone. He might die on the road being idle. Logging out on the wild would let your character stay unless you die.

Because who would on their right mind stay on the wild for a long time where monsters and players with bad intention roam.

He saw that it was about time to get the quest started. After the sun set, Liam finally saw a clue. There was also a light stone near him which was inside a tree. It was inside the tree like it was part of the tree when it grew.

Unlike the stone that he had now, the light on the north was weak. It was almost like it would die out any minute. Liam didn't waste his time, he went to check on western and eastern end.

Like on the northern end of the island, the light stone was also weak that would be extinguished soon. He now believed that he didn't need to investigate until morning.

This might also have to do why the werewolf he fought entered the beginner island. Liam trekked the road to Luci.

When Liam arrived, Luci wasn't around. He called but no one answered. He scratched his head and tried to come back after cooking some meat.

Along the way he killed monsters and saw that his experience never increase since he fought the wolf. So he wasn't worried to wreak havoc on the monsters that was on his way.

He finally arrived at the village and saw that the village was also empty. There was no village at all in the first place.

Liam did a turn and went back from Luci. He finally saw the man staring at him with his mismatched eyes.

"Have you found out something?"

"Yes. I saw the light stone on the north, west, and east with flickering light."

"Hmm, a change is coming. With my awakening, it seems that the Great Star was stirred by something or someone."

"Great Star?"

"We called this world the Great Star because it was the world where living beings live without any problem."

"So there were also a lot of world like this?"

"Yes and No. There are only 3 stars that was allowed to be used by the God of Light. The Underworld, Heavenly City, and Aelvaard or the Great Star."

"Then there might be also a lot of stars different from these three?"

"Yes, there were also star that was yet to be explored by us, and the God and Goddess was against on occupying any world that their father created besides the star that was given to them."

"Then something might happen on this world?"

"Yes, as far as I can see, my awakening was also a signal that the world would once again turn into chaos. So, Liam, would you be my knight and serve me from this upcoming battle?"

[Quest Cleared! Received Luci's Approval and Luci's affection point +5]

[Hidden Main Quest Part 3A]

The Great Star was stirred once again. Chaos would befall on the world. Only unknown mysteries could be comprehended by the awakening of Luci. Help Luci on his journey and leave with him.

Mission: Secure the 3 remaining Light Stone

Reward: ???, Luci's affection +10, 5,300 Exp

Failure: Luci's affection -100, Luci's Department

"Yes."

"Good, then please collect the 3 remaining stone and come back here."

Luci vanished into thin air. Liam could only do what he was tasked to do. When he passed the village once more, it was back like it never disappeared.

Liam didn't think about it anymore. He cooked the meat and sold it. He ate 2 meats which were excess and started to collect the stone one by one.

When he arrived at the northern part he saw a goblin chief guarding the tree. It was a challenge, indeed.

Liam drew his sword and attacked the goblin chief. The chief screamed and also attacked Liam. Because it was only a beginner village the goblin was like an upgraded version of a weak goblin. He finished it off with only minimal damage.

Besides, he was level 8 and with his 8 overall stat compared to the chief which was only 5 at most was not his match. After all, he fought a life and death battle with the wolf.

Liam took the stone inside the tree by puncturing a hole and digging it. He proceeded to collect the 2 remaining stones. It was also guarded by a variant rabbit and a variant boar.

Liam went back on Luci after he collected the three stones.

"Well done. Now, laid the 4 stones according to their direction."

Liam arranged the stone in front of Luci. He didn't ask any unnecessary questions and did what he was told. But contrary to his expected arrangement, Luci added another stone which was also like the 3 faint stone.

With the flick of Luci's hand the stone floated and formed a circling motion. Each has their own color. Red, Brown, Orange, Blue and Silver at the center. It continued until an explosion of light shined and Liam could only close his eyes.

When Liam opened his eyes after the bright light faded, he saw only a stone which was bigger than the first Light Stone.

"Take it." Luci flicked his hand and the stone arrived at Liam. "Take that as a token of my friendship. The stone was called Divine Gem. It was the semi-complete form of Heavenly City's 7 Divine Power. 2 more powers stone and you'll complete it."

"What's the use of it?"

"When the time comes and you completed it, you'll know what will happen then."

[Quest Cleared! Received 5 Colored Divine Gem, Luci's affection +10, Experience +5,300]

Bright lights surrounded Liam. He gained 2 levels. He leveled up straight to level 10. Now he couldn't stay on the beginner village anymore.

"Oh, my chosen knight, I hope to see you soon. Make your self strong, we will meet again, soon."

Liam with his advancement turned into white particles. He only heard the humming of Luci's word then… everything turned black.

When he opened his eyes once again. He was on the plain. He could see a small town nearby. He didn't saw Luci with him. It seems that there was no follow up quest. Liam sighed and advanced to the direction of the town.

The monitoring team and planning team was throwing a big party because instead of triggering the 3rd and 4th quest, Liam triggered the 3A quest. It was a special quest which fall for a long or a short break before the 4A quest. Of course it would definitely fall for 4A quest because he now had the 5 colored gem. He needed to gather the two remaining light stone before Luci came again.

"What a pity." they said but there were traces of smiles on their faces.

"Yes, what a pity, if he triggered the 3rd and 4th quest normally then he would be an OP player. But alas, it wasn't his destiny."

"Yes, let us go back to other potential players."

"Yes!" a chorus of delighted shout came from the meeting room.

Rain emerged from his capsule. He now fulfilled his work. Thanks to Liam, he could now develop his character because of the time he gave to him.

Yes, if Liam really triggered the 3rd and 4th quest normally then Rain have to spend most of his time playing with Liam.

It might not be bad for them, but it would be bad for Rain. Rain stood up and touched the capsule he just used.

"Hurry up, so we could meet again." A trace of smile was left on Rain's lips before he vanished from the room.
