Chapter 26: League Announcement

A week passed and Liam was now level 28. He leveled up a lot after maximizing his time grinding mobs on a higher level grounds. He was now far away from the city where the Tower of Wish was. Currently, he was walking back to the nearest camp where he could replenish his items and log out.

He was now at a camp near a volcano. It was a high level map with 30-40 monsters and beasts. Because of his high stats he could easily kill anyone he saw except the players of course.

There were no players nearby because of the low experience that it yield but, for Liam, this was the best place to grind and practice his control at the same time.

Large health enemy and the terrain that slowed his movement and sped up his enemies. The place was called Vulcan of Terrors like the Roman god. Terrors was included because of the rampaging of the monsters inside it.

There were also high level spirits the close you get to the heart of the volcano. The blazing heat made his stamina decrease faster than normal. But, there was also a lot of ores when killing monsters so it was the grinding spot for Liam.

He needed a lot of ores because he wanted to be a Blacksmith as his 2nd profession. The first profession was a combination of cooking and gathering which was actually great. He could only have 3 professions as a human so he was ecstatic to see that gathering and cooking learned from Hanz was only one slot.

Basically he could have 4 profession. Liam also leveled up his Hundred Sword Cut, the newly created skill could only be increased through practice unlike skills learned from skill books. Liam didn't dare to use his skill points because he didn't feel good about shortcuts. He might be a slave to hard work.

Unfortunately, there was no skill books that he could learn, but if Liam experimented and tried to learn the basic skill of warrior then he would learn that he could learn it. Liam was still on his way to be a veteran in a game.

Liam didn't concern himself with quests. He learned his lesson after a week. The quests inside the camp was hard with only small reward and small experience, nothing else. When he reached the small inn for the nth time he heard something from an NPC.

"Did you know? The empire released a decree about the exploration of Vulcan of Terrors?"

"No! Please do tell!"

"The thing was a treasure was found deep inside the volcano! The treasure could help anyone with breakthrough! The emperor would give massive rewards for any adventurer that wanted to participate!"

"Really?"

"Yes! That's why I'm here! I'm waiting for the recruitment notice! Did you know who would lead the exploration?"

"Who?"

"It was Miss Ytra and his loyal guard Samuel!"

"No shit!"

"Right? The imperial royal miss would lead the exploration herself! It was a big news for all of us."

Liam didn't pay attention after that. He knew the things he needed to know. He paid a rent and logged out.

On this day, there was a press conference on going that was being showed all through out the countries that it could reach.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please calm down. I know that all of you are excited to know the very first participant of our League."

"Today, as a representative of Gabe Corporation I will announce those who expressed their willingness to participate. Please check these list."

The representative of the company was called Lee Haneul. The company was in the South Korea but it didn't affiliate itself with South Korea.

There were light particles that converge to form different shapes and letters. There were also new type of presentation. It could now be viewed like a 3D on cinema without the use of 3D glasses.

"As you can see, there were only 25 countries that expressed their willingness to participate our programs. Of course, South Korea as the leading E-sports country would also participate! As a Korean, I wanted to express my neutrality within the league. We all know that there are malicious people that spread malicious news about us."

"But as a company, we wanted to express that there would be no favoritism that would happen as long as the director is alive! He might be young but he was very dedicated to give us better experience and life like experience!"

"Then let us proceed with the All Star Line-up! There are currently 50 nominees for the very first All Star Competition! There were a lot of concerns about the players' background so we gave a little consideration on their part."

"Let me give a brief introduction to those 50 nominees so you could revote!"

"Three individuals from China made it through Ye Han, Mo Zhixuan, and Tang Li. Ye Han is…"

"Four individuals from South Korea made it through they are Rain, Yoo Min Ah, Kim So Jin, Lee Haemin, and Park Seonil. Rain is…"

The representative announced every members that made it through with small description, affiliation, and class.

"Lastly, we have one representative from the Returning Legends of Powerhouse from Asia, Philippines! Of course, our director made sure that the speech we have for them was exceptional because he was an exceptional player that the director himself monitored his very growth. The last All Star nominee was Liam Idanza!"

"Liam is a dark horse for this tournament! I told you that we didn't favor anyone within a country competition but I will tell you that we have our own favorites! Well, Liam garnered at least a eight percent of votes from our employees. 8%! But alas, we couldn't participate with voting."

"Okay, let's proceed to questions. Who would want to start first?" the representative didn't give any information about Liam except his mother country and the attention he got from them and their director.

There were a lot of reporters from different stations and different countries. This was a press conference that was being broadcasted from all throughout the game's influence.

"I believe everyone wanted to learn the answer from this question, there are different kind of classes and different growths, would you like to explain how you would balance them for the upcoming league?"

"Now that we are on that topic, let me tell you a bit of information about that. The classes I believe, was harder to get than any items with the same type but unfortunately, we decided to let it as it is. Yes! We didn't change anything. Because, this tournament was designed to show their prowess inside and outside of the game!"

"Then, how about their equipment?"

"As I have told you, we didn't change anything at all. The players should take their time to level up and equip their best weapon and armors. After the league started the game would also be on going with major update. So I believe that there will no changes happening inside the game."

"How about those players that didn't participate?"

"They would all be given compensations don't worry. And we decided to made a big update because we will now be releasing Deluxe Capsule for low price and with a new function. For that, it will be a secret."

"Then, is there any big change that will happen inside the game?"

"Yes, there will be a lot of change that would happen. We will also release trailers about that. I'm sure everyone would be contented with the new contents so please get ready for the upcoming updates."

"Thank you, mister representative."

"Now I could only tell you that a lot of things would change inside and outside of the game. But I believe, a week of preparation is enough for everyone to adjust before the League. Now, on May 11, 2210, the League would commence! Thank you."

The representative gave his final bow and a lot of applause was given for his wonderful performance. The reporters forgot their job and were dazed into their own thoughts.

Liam only saw the answer and question portion so he didn't know that he was actually one of the nominees. He would soon know a great news was coming up to him. He was still thinking about the update that was coming.

He cleared his mind and prepared to have another grind before the exploration start.
