Hidden Main Quest

Chapter 3: Hidden Main Quest

[Code HQ000 000 001 A Triggered. The first hidden main quest has been issued by Player D023.]

Gasp of amazement and astonishment were clearly seen on the faces of the whole planning team. The main quest and hidden quest were only installed after a 6 month trial yet the first hidden main quest was issued 5 hours after the update.

HQ000 000 001 A was a quest that was hard to trigger nonetheless. You have to be on the Beginner Village, not only that, you also have to fall on to the people who haven't taken any quest nor talked with any NPC. The HQ000 000 001 A wasn't taken seriously before because who would on their right mind not talk to any NPC nor take a quest which would delay your leveling.

Yes, the Gabe Corporation released a guide via their official website to confuse people for triggering the 1st Hidden Main Quest for at least a year. If the quest wasn't triggered on the 1st year of the release then it would proceed to Hidden Main Quest B which would be triggered by the highest level player yet it was triggered not within their expected range but on the day after the quest has been implemented to the system.

This prove that there were people who was lucky or stupid enough to fall onto that 3 categories to trigger the quest.

This clearly showed that not everything went according to their plan but it wasn't the issue of triggering the quest but, how could a level restricted player defeat an opponent who was above their level.

Liam was only looking at the bright object that kept glimmering on the darkness. It's almost midnight. 3 hours of game time would be equivalent to an hour outside. Liam was playing for almost 5 hours, exactly 15 hours on the game. He didn't even care about the environment he was on.

He kept going on with it. Until he felt an extremely sense of danger. Maybe because it was the first time he felt something that was eyeing him. This cause for the planning team with the monitoring team to intake a mouthful of breath. One more step and he would die.

Once was luck or fluke but making a miracle twice was only a show of how good the player was and that was exactly what they saw. One more step and he would die. He would fail the quest and might not trigger it again after talking or taking a quest on passing.

Liam kept vigilant on any sound or smell that he may forgot. After playing for 5 hours he could say that he developed a skill on his own. He was practically immersed with playing that he was one with the game. He was not only playing the game but enjoying it while putting his life on the line like it was real. Liam was one of those people who played to seek an adventure or find something they want to do.

It only took exactly one more step forward and he was sure that he would die. Liam exhaled a breath he didn't know that he was holding.

[HIDDEN MAIN QUEST Part 1]

The night was the time for those who were hunting for prey that would roam outside. While on the forest, you saw a light that made you go for it, unexpectedly, you are not the only one.

Mission: Defeat the Predator that was eyeing the light

Failure: Death

Reward: HMQ Part 2, 2 SP, 10 AP

"This quest could be considered link right? And link quest was hard, right? It was almost impossible to clear… but every link quest has its loopholes. Maybe I should log out and look on the forum."

Liam decided to log out for awhile and look for information on the forum while the planning team and monitoring team were waiting for him with bated breath. The first quest was their blood, sweat, and tears. It was the quest that has a higher chance of failing and being neglected but alas, it was triggered by a new player not by a fluke but with an ability to see it through.

Liam logged in after 45 minutes have passed. The game was 18 minutes before midnight and the 'predator' would be on its highest ability. The planning team and monitoring team was sure that Liam would fail. Alas, twice was good enough but the difficulty really made your hard work unpaid.

Liam turned back and walked toward to the direction opposite of the 'predator' and the light. Yes, he saw a loophole and he would like to try it. He also saw that his impeded level was only a cause of beginner's block. Well, he was beginner after all, so he saw a chance to exploit the loophole.

But, the loophole itself wasn't a loophole. It was the right step to clear the quest. Liam only needed to level up until 8 or 9 so he could do the quest or else he might finish the part 1 but an experience would level him up that might send him away.

Back at the room of monitoring team. The whole company was now on chaos and chatter. The thing was it was nerve wracking yet exciting at the same time to see the plot you made turn into reality. The planning team should have gone home exactly 9pm but the quest they never thought that would be brought up on the light were brought up. Not only was it brought up but the steps to clear it was almost met by the player. He only needed to level up until 9. No experience would be received by killing the 'predator' nor clearing the quest. Because after part 1, part 2 to 4 would be revolved on Beginner Village without raising your experience anymore unless you cleared part 1 through 4.

Imagine, hidden quest and a main to boot up was made hard for the experienced player so they would pour their all to finish the quest. But the thing was, an unexperienced player was the one who triggered it. They also have the file of Liam that was why they knew that he didn't have any prior experience when it comes to virtual games nor any games at all.

He was chosen not because he was lucky but because the reason he wanted to have a capsule was those they wanted to play. It was a PR strategy but who would have thought that the player they only wanted to use was this good.

Liam arrived at the village and looked for the chief to get his 1st true quest. Killing 'goblins' from the west. It was funny though, beginner village has a chief that didn't have time to sleep. If it was reality then he should have been sleeping before midnight came. Liam also prepared to experience cooking. The line wasn't long enough because some weren't particularly excited to cook.

Liam used the grilling place near the chief's house. He did some cooking when he was alone or he was hungry at night when he couldn't sleep because of his right leg.

[Select an Ingredient

 Rabbit Meat

 Boar Meat

Liam chose to use the boar meat first because it was easier for him. It wasn't big yet wasn't small. The size was enough. When the boar meat was selected the meat was automatically put on the grilling pan. It was not manually done at all. Liam was excited to try cooking but unexpectedly they didn't put so much effort on giving a real life experience on the beginner village.

Its only purpose was to serve as a catalyst for them to have an interest on it. It really did serve its purpose because some people were already on the apprentice level. It was divided into 7 levels. Rookie, Apprentice, Cook, Chef, Professional Chef, Master Chef, Grand Master Chef.

Likewise, Alchemy, Gatherer, Enchanting, Blacksmith, Crafting and other unknown profession have their own ranks. It was still a mystery to player that was ready to be explored.

Liam's cooking bore fruit of 11 well done rabbit meat, and 10 well done boar meat. The rest was either a failure or rare meat which was also a failure in a sense. Each piece of well done meat could relieve hunger and increase 10 stamina. Hunger was only triggered after your stamina drops faster than it should be. Experts on the forum said that eating without triggering hunger would lead to reduction in speed because of excessive eating.

The game itself represented reality which also included how should a hunter remain from excessive eating on the wild. The game's purpose was to give an experience which wasn't far from reality. It gave you a feeling that you were truly on the world itself. The exception would only be applied to sleeping because sleep itself was needed for the player.

According to reports, the players limit on using virtual reality was 20 hours a day. Any excessive playing could lead to delayed reaction time which for professional player was unforgivable. The company itself made its stand that excessive playing could lead to sickness but they also attached a great importance to health that's why every capsule has its own function to sent a distress signal if something happened to the player.

It was also the first for the virtual machines to have a function like distress signal because reportedly, a lot of people were being treated due to lack of nutrients in their body or lack of sleep.

The deluxe capsule also have another feature which let the user to set a time for a reminder in which the user forgot the time due to time difference. Liam used this function right away so he won't forgot to eat. While cooking the reminder was sent on him via a system prompt.

Liam logged out in the inn to replenish his stamina a bit faster which was 1 copper per day on the beginner village. He felt refreshed after logging out. It was a new experience and there was no discomfort in his body after he stood up. He could also use some exercise everyday before playing to condition his reflex on the game, and that's the first time Liam felt invigorated after the accident that changed his life…

I only have 1 more chapter to upload and it would take time to upload another one. If there's any mistake pls do tell me. I actually proofread it myself but sometimes I do still have mistakes lool. So yeah. Enjoy!
