Fighting a Drake?

Chapter 29: Fighting a Drake?

Liam didn't waste his time standing and watching the events flow into more disadvantageous way. They could bring down the drake if Samuel and Ytra helped him.

"Hey!" Liam shouted at them. Ytra looked at Liam's direction and stared at him with wide eyes. "I'll help distract the dragon, you charge your magic!"

Ytra nodded her head and moved inside the cave near the drake. She felt Liam was strong because unlike them hiding at the entrance, Liam was inside. Well, if she only studied enough of her troops, she would notice Liam wasn't with them from the start.

They were battling the drake for almost half an hour and their fighting prowess were only decreasing every second. She didn't foresaw that there would be a guardian protecting the flower.

Again, Ytra was heading to a wrong direction that would only help Liam proved his innocence.

Liam unsheathed his sword. "Should have bought a good sword next time." Liam stopped from a few feet away from the drake and Samuel's contest of strength.

He was preparing to use his skills Hundred Sword Cut with Sword Intent. This was the first time he would attempt to use two skills in one move. It was a combo skill where control and understanding of the skills will determine the success and execution of the action.

Liam's left foot took a step forward while his right foot took a step backwards. The sword was gripped by his two hands and Liam's gravity was equaled on both side of his feet. The tip of his sword was facing the ground, he rotated the sword like drawing a half circle and when it reached the top, Liam shouted and unleashed his skill.

[Congratulations! You created a new skill from the combination of Hundred Sword Cut and Sword Intent. Please name your newly created skill.]

Another skill was created but this time it was a real new skill. "I'll name it Half Moon Slash."

Liam could only read it once before he saw another notification of his damage he dealt to the drake.

-5670!

A total of 5,670 damage with critical hits would be a small damage but when he saw the status of the drake he could only sigh and be grateful that he dealt a damage with four digits.

"Nice!" Samuel commended Liam because the Drake cried. He felt a great intensity with that one attack. If he was the one who received it he's not sure if he could live with his condition right now.

Samuel didn't waste the opening given to him. He also unleashed his own skill. Samuel's sword lit up with blue color and a chill that could be felt even if Liam was a good distance away from Samuel.

Because of the room temperature, Samuel's attack only dealt small damage but now that the magma was no more, he unleashed a skill that could be fatal for the drake.

With a manly grunt, Samuel slashed the drake's body. The slash was successful and the drake's shout intensified. The blood was frozen before it melted when it dropped on the ground. The drake's body where his wound was at was also littered with small bits of frost.

Samuel was an ice type Magic Swordsman. Unlike his intense and hot appearance, he was an ice type wielding magic swordsman.

Ytra also finished her chanting and a big ice spike that was half of the drake emerged around her. She pointed her staff finger to the drake and the ice spike was unleashed with a loud whistling sound around it.

The drake didn't move after Samuel's attack because of its wounds and the temporary freeze it had so when it felt the danger coming from its right, it moved frantically until it failed to dodge and was impaled by a big ice spike on his right wing to his body.

It cried loudly but it couldn't move anymore. It gave its final cry before it fell on the ground. Liam couldn't believe that within two hits, the drake would be killed easily. Well, if he included his attack then it was three attacks, but he didn't because he only dealt minimal damage.

Samuel casted one final glance at the drake before walking towards Liam. "Thanks. I am Samuel, Samuel Ruther, thanks for your bravery, I didn't know how you did it but we are very grateful." Samuel extended his hand for a handshake so Liam grabbed it and shook it.

"It's an honor to help someone when needed, but I actually didn't help at all. I only dealt an attack. And…"

"Well…"

"Let me explain it, Samuel." Ytra moved and looked at Liam. "We couldn't remove the barrier around the drake but you did it. We couldn't stop him from healing itself but you did it. Basically, all this happened because you attacked."

Liam nodded still confused with what their saying. If Liam was honest, he would say that it was only a coincidence with his part but, no need to be shy with a compliment when he really helped them.

"It's only natural. We're all human being. But honestly, it's not me whether you believe it or not."

"We understand. I am Ytra, the first princess of Rotha Empire, will grant you any wish as long as it's within my power."

Samuel along with Liam was shocked with the princess' statement. "No need to think about it. Besides, it's a small thing to grant a wish from the benefactor of my knights and I."

"Yes, I also wish to pay your assistance to us. Once again, we appreciate your timely assistance to us."

"Sure. Then, I'll be on my way."

"May we meet, again."

Liam exited the room and saw the injured knights on every wall from the exit. He didn't find any mutated fire stone while he was walking out of the cave. "A pity, but I should be thankful that I exited early before they discovered the hole." Liam didn't think anymore and walked faster like he was being chased.

Liam arrived at the camp, replenished his consumables and left the camp. He have to find another grinding spot with good respawn time and with small competitors.

While far away from Liam stood a youth with an innocent face and bright appearance. He was standing near an altar with holy vibes around it.

"So I arrived here, at last. The Archangel of Healing Wind, Raphael."

The youth walked to the very center of the altar and knelt with his one knee. He closed his eyes and his arms folded and overlapped each other. "Oh, Angel of Healing, one of the 7 Divine Angels, heed my call and bless me with your power. I vowed to serve you as your loyal knight and spread your legend and miracles all throughout the world."

A light descended to the kneeling youth bathing him with holy light. A drop of green ball of light surrounded the youth and lifted him up. The youth was still closing his eyes but he let his body be controlled by the system. If someone saw the occurrence then they would say that they were watching how one was being baptized.

The whole cave was lit by the green light and the wind grew stronger and swirl around the youth. Lastly, the youth heard a voice before he was dropped on the ground. The voice told him "I, Raphael one of the Archangels, entrust you a duty as my knight and envoy. By my power, as one of Archangels, grant you the power of healing."
