Final Chapter

Page 123- _Frosted Tempest: Present_

Straight to the car lot i ran, hoping to preserve my good looks under a shade.

'As expected!, my shrewd of a father wasn't there yet.     'Probably sweetening his second wife," i childishly thought, lashing out on the single pebble beaching under my shadow. Hooked up by its mesmerizing gleaming hexagon sides, the lustrous gem creepily began shaking. A slight leap into the air i saw it go, until falling to the stunning honk of my father's driver.

I could still feel my heart shackled to pulsating thumps, lifting my shiny shoes into the car.

Emperor Ayanami.... _What import pestered a prince to crouch near such filth!?_

That same annoying tone, unforgivable attitude, and petrifying face. Well today wasn't gonna go that way. I had to make him remember he was at my back and call as the crown prince.

Me.... _I took the liberty of studying stones since you hadn't arrived yet._

No doubt my face was smiling. Visual or not, any tiny muscle lifted couldn't escape my sense of feeling. But damned be wisdom that urged my father to a wisecrack comment.

Emperor Ayanami.... _Mind you our arrival dawns to thirty minutes now. Your mother lost her earring so you just missed us conducting a search of our trail here. Well..., shall we go?_

There it was!, the cliche silver lining words, "your mother". Oh how i wished to break open my skull and erase those peevish words. But i learnt a lot from my long gone mother, and respect was one of them. Instead i bowed and greeted the old granny, or so i loved to call her. In retrospect, she was a beauty in her late thirties, commanding a force of sparkling jewels to strengthen her charm. But if all that got out of my mind, maybe we could've been best friends. Rather we remained greeting buddies and nothing more. Fact be told i hated her sly tongue and misleading smirk.

Belt strapped in, i eased into a seat by the window just behind our humorous driver Shuji. Even far i could hear them laugh and tease each other all the way back.     'Ugh!, let's just get this over with, i effortlessly sighed. Unbeknownst i would rue not taking back those words.

Thirty minutes on the road we sped, clear highway with probably no one. I felt a persistent sense of unease, quickly taking out my stashed panic bag. But then it all happened. Compression from the front and a shocking quake it blew, bashing me against the front and back seat twice. A slight squeal i could hear from the back, loaded with a deep yell.

'So she's actually afraid of something," i sarcastically thought, dazed and weak to nothingness.
