"I hope with this, it would be easier for the three of you to focus and channel your powers as you fight!"
With Elenea telling them that she hopes it would be easier for them to focus and channel their powers, she was right!
Zann moved fluidly, making it easier for him to control his flames!
As for Aranea and Leonel, they could already start focusing their mana in order for them to create something with their magic that is enough to penetrate through the Catoblepas!
However, as each minute—each second passed by, Elenea felt her power depleting.
Drops of sweat started forming on her forehead, some of it trickling down her face as she continued supporting the three with her magic.
'I'm just a few seconds in… why am I getting tired?' she thought, Elenea, continuing to sing so her spell could keep on going. 'Maybe it's because I am doing too much for three people when I just found out about this spell?'
And she was right.
With Elenea coming up with this spell at the last minute, it came naturally to her—even speaking a foreign language she isn't even familiar of!
Other than that, her supporting three people with her magic is taking a toll on her body, making her grow weaker the longer this goes.
But Elenea did not like the thought of stopping earlier. She furrowed her brows as she shut her worries out of her mind, wanting to continue to support them so she would not be useless during their ongoing ordeals.
Even though her back was already bathed in sweat, the thought of getting tired did not worry her. With her help of supporting the three with her, she thought that the hard work would be all worth it.
Aranea knitted her brows together. She took a deep breath, exhaled, then held both of her bow and arrow. She prepared the arrow on her bow, closing her eyes at the same time as she focused her mana on her weapon that she held.
'Remember what Leonel said,' Aranea thought as the palm of her right hand felt cool, mana flowing through it as she held the arrow. 'Focus on the weapon—imagine the outcome. Think of the overflowing power—think of the goal and the intention at hand.'
Leonel assessed Aranea. He sensed that Aranea's mana channel started to calm down, her power moving and flowing in one direction—towards her bow and arrow.
'Alright,' Leonel thought, closing his eyes the same as he focused his mana, merging with Aranea's as he put his hand over the lake that was right behind them. 'Form it, and take it into shape with Aranea's.'
With Elenea's help in strengthening their powers, it would be easier for Aranea and Leonel to form a large arrow that could kill the Catoblepas in one hit.
Second by second, water from the falls started to fly from the lake, on its way to Aranea's arrow as both of them continued to resonate their magic with each other.
Aranea's eyebrows furrowed further when she felt a surge of magical power on her bow, making it heavy for her to carry.
"Th-this…" she mumbled, starting to worry if she could handle carrying her bow.
At that moment, Leonel opened his eyes. Once he was assured that the water droplets coming from the waters kept forming around Aranea's arrow, he walked to her side, holding the bow with his hand to support Aranea.
"Don't fret. Keep going."
With his words of encouragement, Aranea felt her worries flying away. Both of them closed their eyes, the water slowly turning into ice as the arrow kept growing by the second, Aranea tried her best to suppress her surprise so as to not disrupt the flow of their mana.
'This… focus, Aranea, focus! You wouldn't want to risk the ice arrow breaking!'
Zann continued to distract the Catoblepas. He started running, climbing up a tree to jump on the Catoblepas' back. The moment he landed on the beast, it stood still, its head doing its best to look on its back, thinking of a way to get Zann off.
A smug grin appeared on Zann's face. The moment he opened his hand, a red flame appeared on his palm, throwing it towards the Catoblepas' face, the beast bellowing as it panicked that its face was on fire.
"Are you guys ready!?"
Zann shouted, Aranea and Leonel opening their eyes as they felt the surge of their magic finally in sync with each other, the ice arrow sharp and as big as a javelin.
"Ready!"
With Leonel shouting back, Zann jumped off the Catoblepas' back and ran to where Elenea is.
With Zann already finished with his job, Elenea then removed the stream of light connecting her and him, so as to focus her last ounces of mana to the two who would finish the job.
"On my signal!"
Zann shouted, Aranea and Leonel, holding the bow as they aimed it straight to the Catoblepas' chest.
Aranea's heart started to race in both excitement and nervousness at the same time—wanting to get the hell with this already so it would be over.
"Fire!"
With Zann's shout ringing in their ears, Aranea and Leonel released the arrow. Ice particles flew from it as it charged straight towards the Catoblepas, its piercing blade surrounded by the beast's elemental weakness impaling it.
The arrow went straight into the beast's chest effortlessly, the pins of ice gnawing on the Catoblepas, making it suffer.
The Catoblepas groaned in pain, its blood flowing from its gigantic body as it staggered to the ground, already meeting his demise.
With the two successful, Elenea stopped channeling her mana towards them, the girl stumbling on Zann. The Fire Familiar supported her, a triumphant smile on her face despite the overwhelming fatigue that they felt into dealing with that dinosaur-like beast.
"We did it…" she mumbled, only enough for Zann to hear. A smug grin appeared on his face, Zann scoffing at the same time as he agreed confidently.
"Of course, we did it."
Aranea and Leonel panted as they felt their mana almost depleted as well. Only when they released the arrow did they feel the tremendous amount of mana they gathered in order to make such an arrow.
With that in mind, Leonel smiled at Aranea, proud of their Summoner as he gave her a compliment.
"I knew it. I knew it we could do something once we resonated compared to when we had the training."
A proud smile appeared on Aranea's face. She agreed with her Water Familiar, but suddenly, a thought passed her mind when she remembered the other Catoblepas that they left behind.
"Hey… wouldn't the trouble be saved if we killed the one that was sleeping instead of this?"
"…"
"…"
"…"
When Aranea made the remark after they did the hard work, it was then that they realized that they weren't using their common sense as well—a trait they thought that only Aranea had, but turns out...
They had it as well.
And that’s it for today! XD How are you liking it so far? Anyway, let me remind you that I would be locking chapters at around chapter 70+! ^^ And updates would still be daily~! Thanks so much for the support!
