Morgan's pov

ma'am. So I see you are here to

register your child the woman said.

That was all I heard because every other thing was so boring.

Okay she starts today and I don't want to hear anything about her until she has

changed, that is my mom's voice selling me off indirectly.

After they said their goodbyes I was led to a classroom. I guess Mum has already told

them about my class. I walked in slowly with my fingers crushing each other. This will be

your classroom starting from tomorrow. She said before leading me up the staircase on

the upper part of the building, the moment we passed the fifth floor the beautiful

staircase which I had seen from the ground floor slowly began to look ugly the stair

creaky and shaking the walls void of color and no source of ventilation, I felt so sad and

I needed no one to tell me what my faith would be. Finally getting to the last floor and

our supposed destination, I began to feel a heavy wind capable of blowing one's feet off

the ground. I wrapped my hands around my body trying to shield the cold the heavy

breeze was blowing at me. We got to a door and the sister pushed it open and moved

to the side without entering, she let me in, I stood for a while taking a deep breath

before walking in the moment I stepped in she closed the creaky door shut,

I stood quietly staring at the closed door before turning to see the inside. I was caught

off guard, I expected a lot but not this, this was to the extreme, no sheets, broken beds,

broken windows, no drapes, everywhere stinks of urine, sweat, and some other thing I

could not quite fathom, I couldn't breathe, the air was suffocating, at the same time I

needed something to keep myself warm, the broken window had made it easy for the

chilly night breeze to get in.

It's okay you don't need to cry everything will be fine someday, a calm voice said to me,

I sniffed I didn't realize I had been crying because I was too drowned in my thoughts. I

looked back to see a pair of blue sea eyes staring at me, eyes big, a pointed nose,

black hair looking tattered and dirty, packed up in a messy bun, and pale skin with

bruises all over she was a disgusting site to behold. My name is Anita this is Mira, she

said gesturing towards a girl with brown eyes and brunette hair who looked weak and in

so much pain, this is john, she said pointing at a boy who was shivering lightly with a

trace of a tear line around his eyes, he also has blue eyes but, he is kind of dimmer than

Anita's, he also looked bruised, tattered, dirty, with disgusting skin I gulped down an

invisible lump in my throat, she went on introducing every other person, and this is

Anabella she said pointing to a girl who rolled her eyes at me with contempt shining in

her eyes.
