Out in the town

The dawn quickly arrived and the group had to come to an agreement on who to send for the mission to capture a few Gravekeepers. Zero was out of the question because Gozuki had no idea how good his teamwork would be, up until now, he worked together with only Cornelia and even that could hardly be called teamwork, he basically just acted as bait.

In the end, Green and Akame were selected since Green's whip-like weapon was designed for such a mission. As for Akame...let's say no one wanted to take that away from her since she was very motivated to complete it fast. Guy was also sent to scout the tombs from the underground thanks to his armor which let him freely dig through the ground.

"While those two will be away, can I go look around for some things I want to bring into the tombs?" Zero asked Gozuki who seemed interested in what Zero wanted.

"What are those things you want?"

"Sir, you have told us that they can transform parts of their bodies to use the abilities of animals and plants, right? I want to look around and buy the strongest alcohol I can find in this town." Zero explained but for the others, it caused only more questions.

"Eh? I don't think drinking now is the smartest idea..." Poney said while looking at Zero as if he was some drunkard.

"That's not why he wants to buy alcohol, shrimp." Najasho said while taking a sip from his cup.

"Then why?"

"How could I know his real intentions though, I have a general idea. But most importantly-" Najasho replied to Poney with his usually calm expression before he made a dramatic pause, a serious expression appearing on his face.

-he doesn't look like that type of person!"

"Aaah, that's it?!!" Poney shouted, pulling her hair out.

"Poney, you go with him. We don't want to repeat our last mistake by separating ourselves." Gozuki said before waving his hand, showing Zero that he can leave.

Hearing his words, Cornelia seemed a bit surprised that he didn't choose her instead since the two of them practically worked together already.

"Make sure she doesn't do anything stupid inside the town." Najasho said nonchalantly, taking another sip.

"Wha?! How cruel! He just joined us a few weeks ago and you are telling him to take care of ME?! Chief, you are too much!" Poney seemed like she was about to argue more which slightly annoyed Zero who already wanted to leave.

Zero looked at Najasho and their eyes met. Zero nodded his head before grabbing Poney and throwing her over his shoulder.

"W-what are you doing?! Put me down, I wasn't done talking yet!" Poney started swinging her arms around like a kid.

"Apparently you have...we can talk all you want on our way." Zero said while suppressing an urge to spank this foolish girl, unfortunately, it would be viewed as sexual harassment from his side.

Still, Zero was more than aware that if she truly wanted, she would be capable of slipping out of his grasp.

Once they were inside the town Zero started looking for suitable clothes since he didn't want to stand out too much.

"I don't think our clothes are that unusual if you ask me." Poney muttered, still slightly angry from earlier.

"...Are you kidding me? Your belly is literally visible and you are wearing tight shorts!" Zero retorted in low voice.

'This entire town has Egyptian vibes, even the tombs look like usual pyramids. This mission is making me feel a bit uneasy.'

"Ooh? Are you saying that I am so attractive that I would garner too much men's attention? Don't worry, any pervert that approaches us will find out how hard my kicks are!" Poney asked with a teasing smile, having fun at Zero's expense.

"I am not as much worried about perverts as for pedophiles." Zero replied with a witty smile

"Hey! Maybe I am short but I am more than old enough!" Poney retorted with folded arms while turning her head away from Zero.

Her words caused Zero to run his eyes over Poney from head to toe.

"...Say something!" Poney grew nervous under his gaze so she jabbed him, urging him to stop staring.

"Do you want an honest opinion on how men most likely see you?" Zero asked with a smile that made Poney gulp and nod her head with a resolute expression. If it wasn't for overhearing what Green feels for Akame, she wouldn't even think of such things but now that she could get the opinion of someone who was with them only a few weeks...she couldn't let go of such a chance.

Zero bought some yellowish-gray cloaks and gave one to Poney before replying to her.

"Your height adds to your cuteness but if you ask me I would rather say childishness. You have a delicate face and-" Zero said as his eyes started moving lower before he stopped talking upon looking at her chest.

"-flat."

"Grrrr!" Poney instantly growled upon hearing his comment while glaring at him.

"...your lower half of the body is...better, that's all" Zero said while he was choosing which alcohol to buy.

"Huh?! That's all?! You have no mercy when evaluating something not good enough on me but when there is something good, you just say 'better'?!" Poney asked with a wide-open mouth in disbelief.

"Uhm. We have everything I wanted to buy, let's return." Zero nodded his head with an expressionless face which made Poney stamp her foot in frustration before following after Zero.

Zero might have been rude to her but he couldn't deny that her ass looked probably the best out of their entire group of girls. Still, he didn't feel like saying that aloud because he knew Poney would immediately turn cocky and in the worst scenario, she would repeat his words to the others just to "show off".

'That's what happens when your main strength lies in your legs and lower body in general...' Zero thought as he also bought a few small flasks on their way back.
