A World Where Humans Don't Exist

Ashley had everything in her grasp. Love, Status and Popularity; she couldn't ask for more. That was until… One night, on her way home from her friend's party, she was caught in a car accident. Her life was turned upside down. She became comatose and was later in a vegetative state. She was in that condition for three years. Her friends who she thought were her pillars of support left her. Her boyfriend left her for her friend. What hurt her the most was that her family was breaking apart primarily because of her. She lost everything overnight. Everyone already anticipated her death and believed that she wouldn't recover. Why wouldn't they? The doctors said she was almost brain-dead. That was what they thought... In fact, Ashley knew everything. She was just trapped inside her own body. After three years of enduring, life gave her a chance. A silver streak that made her hope that everything would be fixed and she could go back to her once-perfect life. Instead, she is sent to another world. Only to come out of a box and serve as a prize for an annual tournament. More confusing was the fact that this world seemed to be a fantasy world were vampires, werewolves and other creatures dwelled. It was a world where humans never existed. ******* WFP #11: Bronze tier Note: This is a slow burn novel. Geride Tower

Ramier raised his hand to stop his servants who were lurking in the dark. They were all watching the woman in front of them who was looking left and right around the hall as if she was a burglar.

One of the servants wanted to approach the figure but she was stopped by her superior. The head court lady shook her head to the servant, warning her of what she was planning to do. They couldn't bear to disobey the emperor or they were to be thrown to the dungeons.

Seeing her entering one of the pathways, he signalled his servants to go back to their quarters. He would handle this himself. His red eyes glowed in the dark. He was just hidden in the shadows and quickly followed Ashley to where she was headed.

The head court lady sighed and frowned.

How troublesome!

She turned to look at her subordinated before telling them to go back to their rooms. When they were already dispersing, she glanced back to where his Highness was standing minutes ago. Her frown grew deeper.

He was already gone.

**********

The path led her into a dark hallway. When she was inside she ventured deeper only to find a flight of stairs.

She frowned. 'Stairs again.' She didn't know if she should trust this—Well. She doesn't have any choice. If she went back she would definitely be caught by the guards. She knew that it was only a matter of time before they discovered her.

Gathering up her courage, she slowly ascended the stairs. The steps were so high. Luckily, there were small windows on the wall where moonlight peeped in.

Ramier, who was just behind her back, watched as she carefully walked up the stairs. He has been following her ever since she went out of her room. Not to mention everyone in the palace knew that she was trying to escape.

The servants immediately woke up when her door opened. They were about to approach her but Ramier stopped them for he wanted to know what she wanted to do. Of course it was obvious that she wanted to escape but he wanted to know how she'll do it.

He was hiding in the shadows while she was busy sneaking around the palace. It was quite amusing. She was so clueless. She didn't have any idea that everyone knew what she was up to.

He secretly laughed when she pointed her finger back and forth to the two hallways. At first he thought that she forgot about the hallway on the left but he soon realized that she was intentionally avoiding it.

In the end, she chose the hallway in the middle which led to the rose garden. He saw her stop for a while. She must've found the place beautiful.

He just averted his gaze and smiled bitterly. Days from now and she would know that she wasn't supposed to go to this place.

He sensed the guards' presence, not far away from where they were.  He hid himself when she hid under the bushes. He knew that the guards already saw her but he signaled them to not interfere with her and leave.

She still didn't seem to notice anything amiss and continued to the opposite direction of where the guards left. He followed her swiftly as she crossed the dark hallways and went towards the Geride tower. The tallest tower in the entire continent of Malithe. Heading there would be a mistake. There was nothing there that would help her in her escape.  Suddenly idea popped into his head. He knew that it was a bad thing to do in her first day of waking up... but she needed to be punished for her misbehaviour. He looked at her back menacingly.

'That'll be a good punishment.'he muttered in his mind.

He still hadn't recovered from his shock of her spitting on his face with a mouthful of blood. She basically puked on him. In his 300 years of existence, no one has ever spit—vomited on his face. What she did left a bitter taste at this mouth. He was mad at her but not really. If other people did that to him, he would kill that person on the spot without question.

But he wasn't really that upset. He just found it rude. He saw that what she did was unintentional and she was equally baffled. She also looked displeased so there must be something wrong.

Ashley continued her steps until she reached the top of the tower. She realized that she was in a super high place.

'Guess those stairs weren't for nothing.' she thought and sat down. She was panting heavily at her midnight exercise. That was some crazy amount of stairs she climbed. She almost climbed those stairs for almost half an hour.

She sat there for minutes before getting up. She went to the corner of the tower and looked down. She almost lost her strength when she saw the height of the tower.

She wasn't afraid of heights but d*mn! That's just too high. It was almost 200 feet in height. If someone fell from here, it would be the end of his life. Ashley distanced herself from the edge of the tower and went back to where she sat.

Now what was she gonna do? She was now in a dead end. She realized her effort bore no fruit. She couldn't do anything about it so she decided to go back.

Dragging her sore feet, she went back to the stairway. She was about to descend but she halted her steps.

Her face instantly paled. 'What is he doing here?'

Instead of stepping forward, she stepped backwards while looking at the approaching figure with fear. Warning alarms started ringing in her head. It only screamed danger.

'Sh*t!'

The male figure kept coming closer and closer. His red eyes were glowing perfectly under the moonlight. His silver hair shone like the stars. His perfect face looked angelic. It was a scenery to behold but to her it was terrifying. It gave her the chills.

"Y-You—Stop right there." she pointed at him as she staggered backwards. Ramier didn't respond and only continued his steps towards her.

"I s-said.. Stop!" she shouted at him. He raised his brow. He didn't seem to want to listen to her. Afterall it was pointless, Ramier obviously had the upper hand.

Ashley was panicking and didn't know the direction her body was heading. Every step got closer and closer to the corner of the tower. She failed to notice because her focus was on the person in front of her.

Finally, he halted his steps and looked into her eyes. At first she was relieved. She took a step once more but was shocked when she didn't feel anything below her feet. She felt her body lose it's balance.

"Ah!"

Her body felt like she was being dragged into hell. Fortunately, Ramier caught her hand. She looked at him with relief, her body still shaking with fear from her approximate death. She steadied herself before looking at him. He was looking at her blankly like it was a natural thing to do.

She blushed in embarrassment when she remembered what she did earlier. She felt so humiliated from her actions. She wanted to thank him and also apologize. He saved her life. He was her saviour.

"I-I... Thank y—"

She was cut off from offering her thanks when suddenly Ramier pushed her off the tower.

What the?

"AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" She screamed.

Oh my gosh! He pushed her to death! He literally threw her off this freaking 200-feet tower!

That bastard! She thought he was helping her. She even considered him as her saviour. He was a big farce! A big liar!

Ashley kept cursing Ramier in her mind as she fell from the tower. Tears streamed down her eyes and she tightly clutched her chest. She tightly closed her eyes afraid to see what her death looked like.

'I'm gonna curse you! I hate you! I'm gonna haunt you for the—'

She was disturbed from her thoughts when out of nowhere a voice reverberated in her ears.

"Open your eyes.."
