Chapter 34 - Heaven's Pride Ye Ru

The sun's rays fell as the boisterous cacophony of voices could be heard. The shouts from peddlers to storefront vendors and merchants could be heard throughout the city.

Bing Mei Shi's eyes roamed the crowd as she followed the Cloud Chasing Sect disciples in a flowing teal robe.

Her beautiful eyes were soon attracted by a crowd gathered together as the sounds soon faded away as everyone within the area was deathly still.

Her eyes were soon directed to the Li cousins as she saw both their eyes focused in one direction as their brows furrowed while a nauseating order assaulted her nose.

As her eyes turned to see what they were looking at her heart lurched to a stop as she gasped. . .

Broken limbs, body parts and fully dissected humans were left everywhere while blood, bile and entrails were flung to and fro, splattering on the walls, roofs and streets.

Her stomach heaved as she forcefully held it in while her countenance turned pale. . .

She slowly breathed to regain her composure as she heard beside her. . .

"At least I know now you're not faking your surprise. . ."

She looked up as she saw Young Master Qiang staring down at her, his deep, pool-like back eyes seemed to stare into her very soul...

Her heart slightly trembled as she looked down, stammering while she said, " Young Lord Qiang, I have no knowledge of what Ill omen befell the disciples of the Cloud Chasing Sect but I do know it was a disciple of the Blood Gate Cult's Carefree Valley who attacked our residence the same night..."

Qiang Xi looked towards the sky as he breathed in deeply before looking to the other Cloud Chasing Sect disciples nearby.

"Clean the area, burn the corpses and collect their Sect tokens. There's no way we can carry them back to the Sect in the state they're in. . ."

His eyes looked towards the bloodied mess as he muttered under his breath.

"Blood Gate Cult, huh?"

* * * * * * * * * * * * * *

A figure could be seen going from vendor to vendor as he made a few purchases here and there.

The figure wore purple and black Phantom Gu Valley robes while he was covered from his wrist to his neck in gleaming black scales while his skin seemed old and wrinkled.

His face was hidden behind long, loose and tussled hair as he feebly hobbled through the market...

This figure was LingYue, he had used the Myriad Mask Silkworm to make himself a decrepit old man while reducing his spiritual fluctuations to that of a 1st Meridian Opening Stage cultivator.

Upon hobbling through a huge storefront marked 'Heavenly Gifts & Earthly Treasures' he noticed the white and gold trimmed robes of the Heaven Net Society.

These were the robes belonging to three female disciples who were currently leaving, their chatter sounding like playful larks and the tinkering of bells.

As he approached their eyes turned towards him as a strong disgust filled their faces.

"I don't know why Blood Gate Cult keeps around such trash." A female disciple whose beauty was identical to the one beside her.

The golden brown hair fell behind her back as she combed a few loose strands behind her ear, her unblemished snow-like skin and her rosy lips made her a beauty that could topple kingdoms.

"Sis, The Blood Gate Cult can only keep around these types of things cause they can't do any better." Her sister replied, just as beautiful as they seemed like a mirror image of each other.

These two were the twin disciple attendants of Ye Ru, Heaven's Pride of the Heaven Net Society,

; The Jade Maiden.

Ye Ru was the disciple of an elder within the Heaven Net Society, he had taken her in at a young age as he led her step by step in the path of swordsmanship and the cultivation of the Jade Maiden Mantra which was made specifically for her due to her unique constitution, The Ivory-Jade physique.

Her skin was as white as ivory and her skin as smooth and cool as jade, her eyes, as well as her hair, seemed to be a snow-like colour as her lips were a blushing pink colour.

This was due to her unique physique which helped her cultivate much faster but her body and qi were constantly tempered and refined which led to an icy temperament and qi.

Her eyes browsed nonchalantly over Xiao LingYue as it quickly passed, not regarding him in the slightest but as they passed by each other her blade suddenly stabbed outwards, directly towards his neck!

She had felt a vague sense of threat, her heart lurched as if she was side by side with a cruel beast which could swallow her if given the chance!

Ding!

Xiao LingYue raised his forearm as the blade clashed against his snake scale armour as his sleeve was sliced in two; retreating as he placed some distance between them, his eyes narrowing from beneath the tussled and unkempt hair.

Ye Ru looked at her sword before looking at the decrepit old man before her as she exhaled a breath which seemed like it came from hundred-year-old ice before she darted towards him again, her 23 Meridian Opening cultivation was fully active as her cold aura billowed.

The twins were slightly shocked before their eyes hardened, drawing their weapons while readying themselves to attack.

Xiao LingYue was about to draw his blade as he hand reached for the storage pouch. . .

A vast aura fell upon the building as it suppressed everyone with its power, feeling breathless Ye Ru was pushed backwards as her brows furrowed while she looked towards the depths of the store.

"I won't fault you this time youngin', given the nature of your two sects but don't interfere with my business. " A voice was heard as she coughed blood before retreating 5 steps with a trail of blood leaving the corner of her mouth.

She bowed slightly as she then looked at her attendants before leaving while casting one last look at the old man who gave her an unfamiliar sense of threat...
