Chapter 14: Familiar Territory
No sign of Lance in the bookstore, but perhaps it’s too early for him to show up. But it’s also a weekend, and Lance is a bookworm. Or at least that’s what Scott thought. His eyes kept looking to the door anytime he heard the jingle of the bell. But perhaps it was better that Lance didn’t show up today, seeing as Scott had the pack to ‘keep him company.’
Bad thing? Or a good thing? Sometimes it was hard for Scott to tell the difference, especially lately. He could only assume that they were here on behalf of Miles and his orders, seeing as Miles was the one who promised both Scott and Theo safety.
“It’ll be nice once everything goes back to normal and Alpha Miles can hold the pack runs and feasts again. Just like old times.” Ruben’s voice pulled Scott from his thoughts, a smile on the man’s face and a faraway look in his eyes.
