War! Part-2

Inside the village, beneath the scorching sun, the tired Blue Eagle Knights found relief as they gratefully quenched their thirst with cool water. Nearby, a large boulder served as a resting spot for Luke, his eyes closed in blissful reprieve. Alex sprawled on the ground, leaning against the rugged surface of the rock, deep in slumber.

Ava, lost in her own thoughts, gazed fixedly at Chase without realizing it, her hand instinctively supporting her chin as she unwittingly drifted into introspection. Meanwhile, Chase remained oblivious, his eyes remained fixed on the horizon, his mind seemingly also lost in his thoughts.

Should I tell him? Ava's cheeks flushed a faint shade of red as she pondered whether to reveal her feelings. Doubt gnawed at her, knowing the uncertainties that awaited them on the battlefield. Should I risk it all?

Summoning her resolve, Ava steeled herself with determination. Now or never, she thought, reminding herself that this was for their future. She couldn't keep her emotions locked away any longer.

"Pss," Ava whispered, trying to capture Chase's attention without disturbing the peacefully slumbering Alex. However, lost in his own thoughts, Chase failed to register her call.

"Pss, Chase," she tried again, her voice a delicate plea for connection.

This time, Chase heard her soft call, his eyes finding Ava as he observed the slumbering Alex. Confusion furrowed his brow as he whispered, "What?" Wondering why Ava had abruptly called out to him.

Ava beckoned him with a wave of her hand, silently urging him to join her. "Come with me, I need to talk to you," she insisted, her voice laced with urgency.

Chase tilted his head, puzzled by her request. "Why can't you tell me here?" he queried, his curiosity piqued.

Annoyance welled within Ava, and she stood up abruptly, her hand latching onto Chase's, a clear indication of her determination. She pulled him towards a nearby forest, seeking the seclusion it offered from prying eyes.

Once they reached a spot deep within the forest, Ava released her grip on Chase's hand, her breaths deep and calming. Her heart raced with a mix of anticipation and anxiety, the sensation of a racing or pounding heart enveloping her.

"Ava, what's wrong?" Chase asked, his voice tinged with worry as he observed Ava's uncharacteristic behavior. "Is there something bothering you? Are you scared?"

Chase stretched out his hand, preparing to rest it on Ava's shoulder. "You don't have to be scared. I will protect you."

As Chase finished talking Ava talked around with crimson red cheeks looking up at Chase with strong eye contact. "Chase I always want to tell you this after all the time we spent together doing almost everything, "Ava said slowly as her tone slowly started to sound sincere and loving Lee

Ava felt Butterflies in her stomach as she closed her eyes "I love you!"She said out loud with a loving tone.

Ava's opened her eye after a couple of seconds, and reflected eyes showed Chase's plain expression as her eyes filled with tenderness, affection, and hope for Chase'What will he say'Ava thought as she waited she started to become sad as a crystal water tear was about to form in her eyes.

Chase moved his hand quickly hand toward Ava's cheek.

Ava's body went still, her mind swirling with confusion. What's happening? she wondered, her gaze fixed on Chase as her body stiffened from the shock.

Chase, with a tender caress on her cheek and a gentle stroke through her emerald locks, guided her gaze back to his face, raising her chin up toward his own. The air was charged with anticipation as their lips drew near, her eyes closing in anticipation of the kiss. In a whisper, Chase's mouth approached her ear, his words a tender declaration. "I love you too."

Ava's mouth fell open in shock, her mind reeling as she tried to comprehend the weight of his words. Does this mean he truly loves me?

Chase, seizing the moment, brought their faces closer, capturing her lips in a soft, sweet pressure. Their tongues met, intertwining with a delicate dance. Ava's tongue initially remained stiff, frozen in disbelief, as time seemed to stand still during the lingering kiss.

Sensing her hesitation, Chase deepened the kiss, pulling her closer to him, his other hand enveloping her in a gentle embrace. Their bodies pressed together, yearning for closeness and intimacy.

Chase toyed with Ava's tongue and the intermingling of their saliva for a blissful minute before gradually pulling back, breaking the kiss.

'He stopped, Why?' Ava thought, feeling a lingering warmth and contentment emanating from within her.

Chase's voice, laced with knowing, cut through the air. "Did you like it?"

Ava could only gaze at Chase, her eyes nodding her head beautifully in response multiple times.

"Good," Chase affirmed, he nodded filled with satisfaction.

For a minute, they simply gazed into each other's eyes, the weight of their newfound connection palpable in the air. Finally, Ava mustered the courage to voice the question that had been on her mind.

"So, are we boyfriend and girlfriend now?" Ava asked, her tone laced with hope, her heart hanging in the balance.

Chase's response came in the form of a playful smirk. "Aren't we?" he quipped.

"Yes, Yes, "Ava said quickly.

"I'm joking"Chase his laughter as soft as a whisper.

Ava pouted, her disappointment evident. "How are you so good at kissing?" she inquired, a mix of frustration and curiosity in her voice.

Chase shrugged, his gaze filled with a mischievous glint. "I don't know, maybe it comes naturally," he replied, his answer veiling the truth of his past experiences in his past life.

Ava nodded, accepting Chase's explanation.

"We should go now," Chase suggested, grabbing Ava's hand. "We've lingered here for too long."

Chase tugged Ava along, her cheeks still tinged with a crimson hue, her heart fluttering at the touch of his hand.

As Chase and Ava rejoined the Blue Eagle Knights in the village, they found Alex and Luke already waiting, suspicion etched upon Alex's face.

"Where have you been?" Alex inquired, his voice tinged with anger and suspicion as he cast a scrutinizing gaze upon both Chase and Ava.

"Talking. What's happening?" Chase responded, a sense of confusion evident in his voice as he released Ava's hand, causing her to feel his absence acutely.

"Hmm, alright. It's time to move," Alex stated, his disbelief still lingering in his eyes.

"Alright, let's move out," Chase commanded loudly, his voice carrying authority as he rallied the Blue Eagle Knights.

For the next ten minutes, the Blue Eagle Knights marched forward until they encountered the Green Griffin Knights, approaching them dressed in verdant armor adorned with a symbol of a brown griffin on their chests.

"Look, it's the Blue Eagle Knights!" a Green Griffin Knight exclaimed, the words ringing out across the battlefield. The knights on both sides tightened their grips on their weapons, preparing for the inevitable clash.

"Generals, what shall we do?" one of the Blue Eagle Knights inquired, seeking guidance.

"We weren't supposed to meet them here," Chase whispered softly, his voice barely audible.

"Knights, get ready to fight!" Alex called out, raising his sword high into the air."Well, we still have to fight."Alex whisper to Chase.

Some of the Blue Eagle Knights raised their weapons in response, while others remained rooted to the spot, their hearts heavy with fear.

"Now, it's our turn to fight," Alex shouted, his voice infused with an indomitable spirit."Remember our plan is only attack no defense even if we die"

"Yes, General Alex!" Blue Eagle's Knight voice echoes through that field.

"Now, Charge!"Alex shouted in command.

"Ahh!"

The Green Griffin Knights, undaunted and driven by unwavering determination, charged forward with fearless abandon, their battle cries reverberating through the air. It was the moment they had all been preparing for.

A select few Blue Eagle Knights charged alongside Alex, while Luke moved forward, using his formidable morning star mace as cover. The sound of impact resonated as Alex deftly sliced through a Green Griffin Knight's hand, blood spraying across his armor. Unfazed, he continued his charge.

Luke, wielding his mace with unyielding force, shattered the heads of the Green Griffin Knights, their brains and blood splattering in a gruesome display.

Chase watched the carnage unfold before him, paralyzed by fear. Gasping for air, struggling to breathe, he was overwhelmed by a sense of terror he had never experienced before. Rapid, chaotic thoughts flooded his mind, obstructing his ability to focus. Why can't I move? I've always wanted to become the strongest knight this is my moment, so why?, Chase tried to raise his legs and hands but he couldn't, as his eye were filled with darkness, inside his mind he saw himself dying.

"No!"Chase shouted in his mind but outside other heard him.

"Chase"

'What who's that'Chase thought as he heard a low voice.

"Chase!"

The voice seems like a light brings him out of the darkness.

'I'm here! But why can I see that person?

Chase's thoughts were interrupted by a low voice that seemed to pierce through the darkness clouding his mind. "Chase..."

Startled, Chase emerged from the abyss within his mind, turning toward the voice. The battlefield sprawled before him, strewn with lifeless bodies, and Ava stood, poised to charge toward the Green Griffin Knights.

Chase dashed forward, his spear in hand, his body moving on instinct alone. He plunged his weapon into one knight's head, severing another's, as blood splattered across his visage.

Chase's fingertips brushed against the warm, sticky blood on his face, igniting a churning sensation in his gut. Overwhelmed, he bent down, his body convulsing as he vomited, accompanied by the retching sounds and the acrid, sour smell filled the air that often accompanies such acts.

To his surprise, he wasn't alone. The other knights, from both sides, began to vomit as well, their bodies succumbing to the gruesome sight.

After the expulsion of their stomach's contents, a collective sense of relief washed over them, and laughter erupted, filling the air with a mix of camaraderie and dark humor.

"Haha!" everyone pointed at each other, reveling in the shared absurdity of the situation.

The laughter ceased abruptly as Alex, Luke, Ava, and the other Green Griffin Knight General fought ferociously, their weapons wreaking havoc upon one another, the clash of metal and the cries of battle engulfing the scene.

Whipping the remnants of vomit from his mouth, Chase tightened his grip on his spear and assumed an offensive stance, charging toward the Green Griffin Knights with renewed determination. In that moment, he realized that he had finally felt sickness at the sight and touch of blood.
