Everly Eloise took a deep breath as she looked at the tall building before her.
She bit her lower lip and hesitated a bit before she dialed the unknown number on the screen of her phone.
[Hello, is this Miss Everly Eloise?] The female voice on the other side of the phone asked, and Everly proceeded to reply.
"Yes, this is Everly Eloise."
[I see. I presume you must be outside the building. Please wait a few minutes; I will be down shortly.] The person spoke in a friendly tone and cut the call once she was done.
Everly brought the phone away from her ear and waited patiently.
A minute passed, and the gate to the huge mansion was pushed open.
She walked inside and strolled towards the front door that led into the mansion.
She reached out her finger to press the doorbell, but it opened before she could push it.
Her eyes shifted to the door, and her gaze fell on a young blonde lady with blue eyes, clad in a knee-length high-waisted skirt and a white blouse.
She was Delacy, the woman who had approached her with a job offer.
While she was scanning the young lady, the young lady, Delacy, was examining her as well.
Her stare shifted from Everly's long hair that reached her waist and stopped at her emerald-green eyes.
Her face lit up, and she couldn't help but compliment her. "You look beautiful."
Everly's eyes flickered, having not expected that, and an awkward smile spread across her face.
"Uh…thank you." She politely replied, and Delacy gestured into the house.
"Please come in." She stepped out of the way, and Everly ambled into the mansion.
Delacy shut the door and walked up to her.
"Follow me." She smiled at her, and Everly followed after her.
They proceeded into the living room, and the moment Everly glimpsed the enormous interior, her eyes couldn't help but twinkle in awe.
"Wow..." she exclaimed under her breath, unable to deny the fact that this white house was the most beautiful mansion she had ever seen.
The living room alone appeared to be... majestic.
She secretly let out a deep breath and shifted her gaze to the stairs when she heard unfamiliar footsteps.
"Good morning, Mr. Avalanzo." Delacy quickly greeted, and Everly, who was unable to believe the fact that she was meeting the wealthiest man in the world face to face, stood still in shock.
Yes, she has seen him on social media, photos and all that, but to think that this man was more beautiful than he appeared to be on social media made her jaw drop in admiration.
When you hear the word "mesmerizing," this man was the definition of it.
Her eyes shifted to his hair, which was packed up into a messy bun and trailed down to his lavender-colored eyes.
Was it even natural for his eyes to be that color? She had never seen anyone with lavender-colored eyes.
She pondered within herself and snapped back to her senses when his deep voice resounded through her ears.
"Who is this?" He questioned, and with a bit of a fearful smile on her face, Delacy proceeded to explain.
"Mr. Avalanzo, this is Everly Eloise, your caregiver." She explained and turned to Everly. "Everly, this is Mr. Valerio Avalanzo. I'm sure you already know him."
She introduced them to each other, and the instant Everly's eyes met Valerio's, she fell into a daze.
There was something about his eyes that she couldn't seem to explain. It was captivating and intimidating at the same time.
It was as if he was staring into her soul.
Just...what could a man like him want a caregiver for?
He was the wealthiest man in the entire world and had anything he could ever desire.
So why exactly does he need a caregiver?
She had questioned Delacy on the reason, but Delacy, however, refused to tell her and only agreed to do so on the first day of her job.
"Um… Everly, Mr. Avalanzo here has an eye problem, so he can't see; therefore, this is the reason we needed a caregiver."
Delacy, who saw the contemplative look on her face, immediately explained as promised, and Everly, who could not believe her ears, had her jaw fall open in disbelief.
"B-b-blind???" She stuttered, obviously shocked, and an awkward expression appeared on Delacy's face.
How does he do those interviews, then?
He doesn't even look blind, nor does he act blind!
How is he looking at her as though he could see her? He does not even walk with support, so how?
She doubted and turned her head to look at Delacy.
"He's…really blind?" She inquired, and before Delacy could give her an answer, Valerio's voice reverberated.
"You are fired!"
