Hello, Ileus

Everly gazed at him, and slowly, without uttering a word, she snatched her arm from him.

She hurried off and returned with the mop.

She cleaned up the mess, and once she was done, she washed her hands and returned to finish her job.

She wore him his jacket and adjusted the collar of his shirt.

She fixed his white tie that matched his pristine white suit and let out a soft breath.

"Am done." She said that to him and stepped back away from him.

"Do you want breakfast?" She asked, but Valerio shook his head at her.

"No," He replied in a soft tone, and Everly nodded.

She turned around to leave, but Valerio grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her back.

He stared at her, and a bit confused, Everly turned her head to look at him.

"Is there anything else that I can do for you?" She inquired.

"Everly…" Valerio spoke her name in the softest tone she had ever heard him use, and she gazed at him, not sure what was going on. "I am sorry. I know you are afraid of me because I hurt you yesterday, so... I am really sorry. I shouldn't have done that no matter how much I lost my temper, so I hope you forgive me. And, um, please stop being afraid of me. I promise never to hurt you again. I would never do that again."

He apologized to her with deep sincerity in his tone.

Everly stared at him and slowly nodded her head.

"It's…okay. I am fine." She replied and slowly withdrew her wrist from his grip.

She walked towards the shelf within the room and grabbed his work suitcase.

She returned back to him, and, surprising to Valerio, she grabbed his hand and interlocked it with hers.

"Let's go." She smiled at him.

Warmed by such a gesture, a relaxed expression emerged on Valerio's face.

Once they arrived downstairs, Valerio moved towards the room where Leia was lying and pushed the door open.

He ambled towards the bed and reached out to grab her hand.

"Wake up soon, okay." He whispered to her and let out a soft breath.

He caressed her hand and let go afterward.

He proceeded towards the living room, and Alex, who had already gotten the car ready, bowed to him.

"We are ready to go, Master," Alex said.

Everly glanced at Alex, and her eyes halted on his white hair, which he always had in a bun, just like Valerio does.

She glanced at his deep blue eyes and couldn't help but compliment the fact that this man looked so unique.

He was brown-skinned and possessed such features. He looked so gorgeous if she had to say...

A look of admiration flickered in her eyes, and having noticed her intent gaze on him, Alex shifted his eyes to her.

He walked toward her and reached out his hand. "May I have the suitcase?" He asked.

"Oh, yes, yes." Everly quickly nodded her head and handed the bag to him.

Alex received it and led Valerio outside.

They boarded the car, and Everly watched as they drove out of the compound with other sets of black SUVs following behind.

It took them less than two hours before they arrived at Valerio's main company, which was the biggest of all the rest of his companies.

He stepped down from the car, and together with the rest of his bodyguards, including Alex, who held him by the arm, they proceeded into the company.

They moved to walk towards the escalator, but an employer quickly hurried towards them and stood in front of them.

"Good morning, boss." The young lady with short hair and glasses hanging on the bridge of her nose, greeted with a slight bow, and Valerio stared at her as though he could see her.

"Is there a problem?" Alex inquired.

"No. But... someone is here to see boss." She replied.

"Who is it?" Valerio questioned before Alex could say a word.

"Um…it's….Mr. Ileus." She answered.

A strange gleam immediately flashed in Valerio's eyes, and a slight frown appeared on his forehead.

"Let's go." He said to Alex, who immediately led him to the meeting room.

He pushed the door open, and Valerio stepped inside.

He shut the door behind him and Valerio glanced in the direction where he felt someone's presence.

The person, Ileus, who was clad in a white suit with his white hair tied up into a ponytail, glanced at Valerio with his gray eyes.

"Hello, Valerio." He spoke.

Valerio walked towards the table and stood opposite him.

He faced him and arched his brow at him.

"Hello, Ileus." He replied, and a slight smile emerged on Ileus's face.

"You can't…see?" He asked with a bit of a confused expression on his face.

"Yes, I can't," Valerio replied in a bit of an annoyed tone. "What are you doing here?" He questioned.

"Shall we have a seat first?" Ileus gestured as he sat down on the chair.

Valerio sat down as well and folded his arms with his legs crossed.

"So what is it?" He pried.

"I saw the new house you bought." Ileus started.

"What about it?" Valerio arched his brow at him.

"I want to buy it. It belongs to my brother." Ileus stated.

"What do you mean by that?" Valerio immediately questioned. "It used to belong to your brother; now it belongs to me. Therefore, what I am trying to say is that I won't sell it to you." He shook his head with a stern expression on his face.

"If that is your reason for coming to my company, please excuse yourself. I do not have the leisure time to have such meaningless conversations with you." He stated this and rose from his seat.

He proceeded to leave the meeting room with Alex, but a sentence from Ileus had him halt.
