Chapter 7

***Chris pov***

It took Chris a moment to realize what was going on, he used his powers in public, and everyone was watching him do it.

He saw several flashes and noticed that people had their phones out and were taking pictures of him and the alien ship he was holding in his hands, not to mention the two hawk-like aliens inside of it.

Then he heard a gasp of air behind him, and a distinct British accented voice saying, "I can't believe it... all this time you were real?" and as he turned around, he saw him, it was the actor who played Superman, and if rumors were true... a massive geek, Henry Cavill.

Chris was taken aback by this, and then one member of the crowd started chanting, "Superman! Superman! Superman!" soon the rest of the crowd joined him.

At that Chris grabbed the alien pod, lifted it above his head, and as the top tilted down a bit, he started to lift himself up in the air, being careful not to damage the building, all the while Dave clung to Peter and he swung after him outside of the hall, soliciting more gasps of awe as now people were screaming in awe.

As Chris flew, Peter just said next to him, "Well... I guess the Superman rumors are now confirmed huh?" Chris didn't respond to that, instead, he said to Pete, "hold on tight, this is going to be a bumpy ride." As Pete latched on with one of his webs to his legs and Chris flew to his fortress.

It took Chris longer than he had wanted to reach his fortress, but as soon as he did, both Pete and Dave landed on the ground shivering, with shaking teeth they said, "Y-Y-You C-C-C-Could had giv-v-v-ven us a head's up!"

Chris gave a sheepish smile and apologized, even when he slowed down significantly, the sky was still cold, not to mention they were now in the north pole, but Chris himself was not bothered at all by these temperatures, as they entered the fortress, they heard a mechanical voice saying, "Welcome Tal Ar, how may I be of assistance for you today?"

"Hello Delta, please prepare the medical wing, and raise the temperatures so my human friends would be comfortable." He said as he lowered the pod to the ground.

As soon as he did this, two drowns flew in and opened in up, revealing the two hawk-like aliens.

Then the A.I spoke once again, "ah, one injured Volatilia-Sapian, and the other is deceased." Chris and the others were surprised at that and Chris asked, "you know what they are?"

"of course, I have a database filled with the knowledge of speices living in the cosmos."

Chris watched as they were being taken away and then he couldn't help but ask, "why did they arrive on earth?"

The A.I responded, "I am sorry, but I do not know, my best guess is that much like yourself, they came here seeking refuge."

And then Dave asked, "refuge from what?"

Just then both Pete and Dave's phone began to ring out, as they pulled them out, their screens opened to show a grotesque yellow-horned four-eyed creature looking at them, and the creature spoke through the phone, "people of the earth, you have given refuge to an enemy of ours, and for that, you will pay, for those who aid the enemies of the Quarth must share their fate, now say goodbye to your loved ones, for you have sealed your fate."

Just then the call ended, and Chris gave a quick scan using his super senses, and his eyes widen in horror, just then his brother approached him, still clad in his green lantern costume, and asked, "what is it? What is happening?"

Chris didn't need to answer as just then several holographic screens appeared, revealing to them the full scope of the situation, and then Chris said with a downcast expression, "the Quarth invasion has begun." And everyone in the room fell silent.

***The isle of Avalon***

The small figure approached the Island, and the magic it took from him aged him even further, as evidenced by his now much younger-looking face.

He walked up the stairs, the sword still held in his arms, and he saw him there, laying on the stone bed, his monarch he didn't saw all those eons ago, yet it seemed time had not touched him at all, his blonde hair was just as shiny, and his beard just as well taken care of, he was still wearing his armor.

He looked at his grandson and a tear threatened to escape his eye, but he didn't let it, as he walked closer to him and said, "Arise, King Arthur, your country needs you to return, it needs its once and future king." And as he put the sword Excalibur in his hands, the sleeping figure's eyes opened to reveal navy blue eyes.

As the armored figure of king Arthur started to get up, he slowly turned his head, and to his surprise, he saw the small figure looking at him with a big smile on his face.

But then the figure spoke, "it so good to see you after all those eons... grandson."

Then Arthur's eyes widen and he asked, "Merlin?"

The figure nodded and then Arthur asked, "how are you so... young?"

He smiled at him and said, "have you forgotten? The older I get the younger I look, and I am very old grandson, but now you need to return, Albion needs you, a battle has begun, and the people need their king now more than ever."

Then Arthur felt a tremor of sorts, and then Merlin said, "now that you awakened the Isle of Avalon will send you to where you are most needed, farewell my king, I am so glad I had the chance of seeing you one last time." He said as his body began to fade away.

"wait!" Arthur called out, but to no avail, Merlin was no more, and soon a bright light engulfed him, and he felt his body being pulled to a different place, he knew not where, but he knew it was where he was most needed.

***north pole- fortress***

Chris now stepped out of his matter-converting machine, still clad in his superman costume, only now It was different, the machine turned the fabric it was made of into a standard Viltronian fabric, one that could stand most abuse a Viltronian could endure.

And Peter had decided he needed a similar upgrade to his suit as well.

"so that's it huh?" Chris heard Dave talking to him, "you are taking that rule on yourself for real now?"

Chris now looked at himself, and his eyes fixed on the symbol that was on his chest, and then he said, "do you know what the Superman Symbol stands for?"

Dave said, "of course, it is his family crest, the house of El."

Chris shook his head and said, "you are only half right, but mostly it stands for Hope, even if he is fictional, Superman still inspires hope in other people, the capacity to do good, even in the real world, and right now the people of earth needs to feel safe, they need hope, and that is what I am going to give them, because this is the time they need to feel hopeful the most."

Hearing that Dave felt inspired and said, "Ok then, what do you need me to do?"

Chris looked at his older brother and said, "I need you to stay here, and keep an eye on our guest at the med bay."

He was flabbergasted, "what?! Why? I can help you!"

Chris smiled at him and said, "I know you can, but since you don't have any superpowers, I would spend most of the time looking out for you and won't be able to focus on the mission, in order to succeed, I need you here, where you'll be safe along with ma and pa."

"wait, they're coming here?"

Chris nodded and said, "I've already dispatched some drones to bring them here for the fight, that way I know you all will be safe."

"Wait, what about Ashley?" it was Peter who asked as he now stepped out of the machine, now clad in his new and improved Spiderman outfit.

Just then Chris's phone rang, and as he answered it, his blood went cold.

"Chris? Babe where are you?" asked the crying voice of his fiancé.

"I'm at the fortress Ashley, I was about to send drones for you."

Just then he heard crashing and screaming sounds through the phone, "what is going on?"

As she was still panicking she said, "the aliens! They sent some robots to attack us! Oh god!"

And then he heard her scream in terror and the line went cold.

Chris now operated on pure instinct and grabbed Pete and flew off at top speed, being careful not to give Pete whiplash.

***New York- times square***

Chris and Pete had arrived, and to both their shock they saw what Ashley meant, the Quarth had dispatched mechs units to the fight, as well as foot soldiers, people were screaming and fleeing as they started killing them by the hundreds.

"Ok, what is our plan?" Pete asked Chris as they looked at the slotter Infront of them.

Chris said, "you take care of the civilians, try to rescue them, and I will take care of their attackers."

"sounds like a solid enough plan, given the circumstances..."

But then he felt a massive gush of wind as Chris flew off to take care of the invaders, all the while Pete said to himself, "this looks like a job for Superman."

***Third person pov***

Ashley was now in hiding after she lost her phone in the chaos, she somehow found refuge behind a car that was Destroyed, she struggled to control her breath, so they would not track her, but she could feel the massive foot steppes getting closer and closer to her location.

She held her mouth shot by placing her hand on her mouth, all the while she thought to herself, ~where are you Chris?~ just then she felt a massive gush of wind, and she saw a red and blue blur striking Infront of her, and then she heard a massive crashing sound.

She barely lifted her head, but it was enough to see her fiancé there, clad in his superman outfit, only something was different about it, his back was facing her, and he was now facing the alien robot, and the aliens who were standing next to it, "I'm going to say this only once, leave this planet and don't come back, this planet is under my protection."

After a few moments, one of them stepped forward and said, "you may be a Viltronian, but what chance do you have against us all? After all your kind was annihilated by us." he spoke arrogantly.

Then Ashley heard him say, "this." And she saw two beams of heat shooting out of his eyes, and she saw them screaming as he annihilated them all.

After he was done with that Groupe of invaders, he turned towards her and she saw him smile at her as he reached his hand for her, "it's ok, I'm here." And he gave her a hug.

She buried her face in his chest and cried, but she felt him stroking her hair and saying, "shhh... it's ok, I'm right here.."

After she calmed down enough, she looked at him and asked, "are you really going to deal with them all?"

He nodded his head and said, "I do, I don't have any other choice, otherwise the earth will be doomed."

She nodded her hair in understanding and said, "well... don't just stand here and do nothing, go save the day... Superman."

She saw him smiling at her, and then he kissed her on the lips, but then he pulled back, and suddenly she was engulfed in some strange energy shield, it didn't hurt her in any way, but it didn't let her through as well.

She saw Chris putting his hand on the energy shield and he said to her, "trust me, this would be for your own benefit." As she was dragged away from there, and flown far away.

After Ashley was taken to his fortress, he gave his drones similar orders to pick up her parents as well and make sure they were safe, now with those distractions out of the way he could focus on the situation at hand.

He had flown up, his super hearing picking up everything at once, so he focused on it once at a time, and then he has flown at top speed to the nearest one.

***Third person pov***

Jerry Butler was out with his sister and his nephew when the attack started, right now they were hiding behind a car, and several of the aliens were walking in those mech suits of theirs, just when he thought they didn't notice them, he felt the car being lifted above their heads.

He looked at the mech's faceplate in horror and was readying himself for the alien to kill them in some gruesome manner when all of a sudden a sonic boom was heard, and then a figure appeared, one that punched the mech away, making it fly several meters back.

Jerry looked at the figure Infront of him, and his jaw dropped, he was clad in red and blue, and as he turned towards them, he looked every bit the part of him, but he couldn't be him, he couldn't be...

"Superman?" Jerry's nephew's voice brought him out of his stupor, as he looked at the man, he noticed that he was giving them a worm smile, and then said, "everything is going to be all right, I'm here to help."

Just then he noticed his little nephew Darnell was holding his superman toy close to his chest, then he gave the large muscular man Infront of them his hand, and he helped him up, but then they heard stones break, and Jerry saw behind the Superman dressed figure the mech was returning, he gave them a small warm smile and held up one finger and said, "please just wait a moment..." and then Jerry saw that his eyes were glowing bright red, as he turned his head towards the mech shot out two red beams of heat out of his eyes.

If Jerry had any doubts about the man Infront of him, they have immediately vanished as he saw that display, and then as the mech stopped moving, he stopped firing his lasers and turned back towards them, and then Jerry heard a 'THWIP' sound and then someone lands behind them.

And as he turned he saw someone dressed much like spiderman approach them, and then he said, "Superman, I got them, you go on ahead and take care of them."

Then the Superman, as now Jerry had no doubt about him, stood straighter and nodded his head, and said, "ok Spiderman, I leave their care with you."

And then he walked away a few steppes, and then Jerry saw him crouch down, and then he blasted off to the sky.

Then Jerry turned towards spiderman and said, "I guess if he's real then anything is possible." As they all hung on to the hero, and he swung away, to Jerry's screams.

***Dave pov-fortress***

Dave was at the sick bay, and he liked at the dead alien Infront of him, it was a humanoid hawk, with massive wings on his back, he looked at him, and said to himself, "damn, he looks like he was one hell of a fighter."

Then he heard a voice said behind him, "thank you, I'm sure my father would have appreciated you saying that about him."

Dave jumped at that, and immediately training took over as he fell into a fighting position, but as he saw the figure Infront of him, he relaxed his muscles a little.

He saw the tall hawk-like alien Infront of him, he was holding his side, as if it was still hurting him, then he said to the alien, "what are you doing here? You still need to be healed."

But the alien just shook his head and said, "no, I need to fight, otherwise his death would have been for nothing." Then he looked at Dave and said, "I'm Mandulian by the way, "and you are?"

Dave then looked at him and said, "oh, I'm Dave, Dave Johnson."

He extended his hand for the hawk to take, and the hawk... which seemed confused at first, hesitantly took his hand and shook.

Then he noticed that the haw was looking at him up and down and said your reflexes when you heard me, are you a soldier?"

Dave's eyes widened a bit at that, but he answered, "Y-yes, I am, good eye you have there."

"thank you, and might I assume you are a Viltronian as well?"

At that, Dave was baffled but then he looked around, and his mind clicked, and he answered, "ah, no, that would be my adoptive younger brother, I am only human."

"Human?" the alien asked, confused.

"We are the dominant species of this planet, even though we resemble Viltronian in appearance, we are not the same."

A look of understanding appeared on the hawk-like face of the alien, and then something popped in Dave's head, and he asked the alien, "excuse me Mandulian, but I forgot to ask, but how is it that you speak English very well?"

"Oh, that? I don't In fact speak your language." He then held up his hand, and showed a golden ring with a green gem embedded in the center, with blue energy lines running on it.

"This device has a universal translator installed in it."

Looking at the device, Dave's eyebrows widen and he looked at the ring and asked, "what does this device do?"

"Oh this?" the alien said, and then he held it out and activated the device, it made swords of differing kinds, and then what looked like alien armadas, and then planets of a different kind, all the while Dave noticed the energy it emitted was green.

"This ring can make whatever its user can imagine, it was made specifically to combat the Quarth, basically if you can imagine it, you can wield it."

Now Dave knew exactly what it was, it was a lantern ring, even though it didn't look the part, he looked at himself, still wearing his green lantern costume, and wondered in his head, ~could I?~ but then he saw Mandulian walking towards his dead father, and reaching out, then he took something out from him, and as he turned to him, he saw he was holding another ring much like his own, and he said, "this was my father's ring, it served him well in battle, I could only hope it would do the same for you." He finished as he extended it towards Dave.

Dave's eyes widened, and then he said, "I-I couldn't, it must mean a lot to you...?"

"I do, but he would want me to pass it on to someone who is worthy, and right now you seem like the best option."

Dave took a deep breath and said, "Only if you are sure." And he took the ring.

He took out the cosplay green lantern ring he was holding, and he placed the ring on his finger, then a voice said, "new user detected." And then a green light came out of the ring and scanned him up and down, and then it said, "uniformed scanned."

Dave was confused by that, so he turned to Mandulian, who by seeing his confusion said, "the ring scanned the uniform you are wearing, so when you go to battle, it will automatically change to it."

"But this is not my uniform," Dave said, wishing he had his uniform at hand.

Mandulian raised a brow and then said, "oh, I guess I should have warned you huh? Well no matter, now you need to choose a password to complete the process."

Dave's arched a brow and asked, "a password?"

Mandulian nodded and he said, "yes, every soldier of the alliance has one, it also helps if you need a power boost during battle, so you chant it."

Dave smirked, but then he looked at the ring, and then he asked, "well I have an idea, but tell me, can the ring change shape to whatever the wielder desired it to be?"

Mandulian looked confused, and answered, "I guess... it was designed to do the user's wishes, but no one has ever tried it before..."

Dave smirked, and then pointed his ring to where he had put the cosplay green lantern ring and said, "ring, scan this ring and transform yourself to look like it."

"Understood." The ring replied in its usual monotone voice, as a green light appeared from it, and it scanned the ring, soon after, a bright green light appeared from it, and they both were blinded. As the light died down, Dave saw on his hand that he now had a metallic green, green lantern ring, with some faint blue energy lines on the surface.

So now he smiled, as Mandulian looked at him and he said, "this is incredible, no one has ever done this before."

Dave smiled at him and said, "I think you'll find that I am full of surprises, and now for my password."

He looked at the ring and said, "ring, set a new password," he then said," in brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight, let those who worship evil's might, beware my power, green lantern's light!"

The ring gave a glow, and then said, "new password set."

Now Dave looked at his new friend and said, while holding up his hand, "let's go show them what we've got." As his body glowed green and he started flying away.

***Atlantis***

Prince Kalthor was in a state of emotional distress, just a few minutes ago the aliens had reached Atlantis and even though they were successful at repelling them, they lost their king, his father, as an infiltrator had managed to slip inside the throne room during the chaos and take out the king in a very dirty handed way.

He was holding king Theseusion's lifeless body by the head, if they were not underwater his tears were surely showing.

His two brothers were near him, his youngest was hugging him from behind, the loss of their father definitely hit him the hardest out of the three.

He was just a babe when their mother had died, the queen who was beloved by the people of Atlantis, and he was her spitting image, and that made their father's grief over their mother that much worse, but now Kalthor could take solace in the fact that the king would join the queen in the afterlife.

As Kalthor held their father, he felt Maximus' hand on his shoulder, gently squeezing it, and he said to him, "the people need a leader, they need a hero." Then Kalthor's eyes fixed themselves on the royal armor that was on a stand Infront of him, then his face turned to that of sheer determination as he said, "and they shall have it." As he rose up, now holding the trident of Poseidon in his hand, he started to wear the armor, and take on the new role of king of Atlantis, but unlike his predecessors, he would seek out the help of the surface dwellers.

In order to defeat this current threat, he would need to unite the world, he would his help... he would need, the Superman.

(A/N hey there everyone, I hope you all enjoyed this chapter.

So things had finally started to warm up, and our resident Superman had finally revealed himself to the world, alongside our spiderman and newly made Green lantern and a certain Celtic king.

Now I still have many other heroes I'm bringing to this story, but you will have to see them next chapter, so be sure to review it, and feel free to share any ideas you might have for the continuation of this story.

This chapter was also dedicated to Henry Cavill, if you are a fan of his like I am, the last few months were an emotional roller-coaster to say the least, what WB did was cruel, they gave us hope after all that time he was away, only to rip it away, which made me so sad and angry since he deserved better, now Netflix are trying to bash him, which I won't allow.
