Chapter 142

"Is this how we are going to stand in silence?" I ask both of them as I am watching the fight that is going on.

"Did I say anything to offend you guys?" I ask and Alice shakes her head..

"Quite on the contrary, we are the ones who feel ashamed for having kept you silent ever since that moment" she says.

Arden bears an unsure expression on her face and I nod at this.

"Then let's forget it, if the question I ask makes you guys are it makes you uncomfortable, then there's no reason to answer me".

I seriously want us to fall back into that familiar laughter that we had fallen into before because right now I am nervous, I am nervous at the fight that is going on in front of me.

It seems it isn't only Adrian, Damen and silver eyes who are competing by themselves, it seems more and more people are eventually getting brave and now I can see the guy who had been harassing Alice before, the one who i had basically threatened away and who had glared at me like he was going to kill me, he is also inside the rings now.

He is fighting a mercenary who is considerably less deadly than the others, but he also poses enough of a threat to squashing him like a little bug.

He is doing considerably fine though and he makes me realise something that I had always suspected, these guys have training, they have formal training which keeps them from being squished like tomatoes, I wonder if it is this training that has perfected this guys movements to such a fluid level.

"If he fights like this I wonder how Adrian would fight".

Arden and Alice laugh a little bit at this and I realised that I've been wuttering to myself all this while.

"Don't worry, you'll get to see him fight soon enough" Alice says to me and as much as I am delighted at the smile that she wears on her face, I am also nervous.

I'm also nervous because I will soon get to see Adrian fight.

I cannot tell you the sort of panic that is flying through my heart just thinking about it, just thinking about him going head-on with one of these bulky looking people, and I know the sort of luck I have, I know the sort of bad luck that i have as because of me thinking about this, he will surely be paired with someone dangerous.

He will be paired with someone decidedly dangerous and I hope it is a mercenary, I hope it is a mercenary because if he's paired with someone like Damen or that silver eyed guy from before, I don't really think that my confidence in him will be at such a high.

I need to believe in Adrian, and as a shout of victory goes up I look to see someone, a bulky someone who Alice strares at with resentment, he is wearing a wide smile on his face as the mercenary he was fighting a few moments ago is now on the floor, lifeless.
