Richard

I needed a few drinks. 

How could I pass the day without downing a few gulps? 

I stood to leave but she held my wrist to stop me. 

"Lie with me, Richard,"

Her words did have their effect on me as usual but this time, I resisted it. There were more on my mind than her this time. Even though I wanted to lie with her so badly, with my arms wrapped around her, clutching her tightly to myself, I resisted the urge. This was not time for that, I needed some alone time so badly. 

"I need to step out for a while. You should rest," I replied, kissing her on her forehead before leaving.

As I sat in the car, a thousand emotions filled me and I hit the steering wheel a couple of times. Declining my efforts to not spill a single tear from my eyes but a few tears escaped my eyes and I sobbed quietly. 

I have felt nothing but hurt throughout my days. 

I rubbed my eyes dry and drove to nowhere in mind.
