I looked at her without saying a word. I had nothing to say, not a word of clarification as to why I had my lips perched on his forehead. I froze.

"What do you think you're doing?" she asked again as she walked deeper inside the room. "Aren't you the nurse?" she asked even though she could tell from the uniform I had on. It was obvious I was a nurse.

I looked down at myself and at his face before hurrying up to stand straight.
