After a workout at the hotel gym and room service breakfast he began to lounge around waiting for the time he was to head on down to the city of Newport Beach to visit his old friend Seth Cohen. When it was 10:50 am he changed out of his leisurewear and went down to the parking lot to his car. It would take him around an hour and fifteen minutes to reach where Seth lived. He hopped on the freeway and cruised while listening to one of his favorite albums, Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys.
Finally he arrived at the Cohen mansion and pulled his car up into their steep driveway, pulling his car's parking brake and putting it in park. As he stepped out of the car he saw three men walking up behind him. Ryan Atwood along with Seth and Sandy Cohen were walking back home after spending some time at the beach that was a stone's throw away from the Cohen home.
"Heyyyyooooo! Shalom, Cohens! How are my favorite Jews doing?"
Sandy shook his head while slightly chuckling. Seth jogged up to Michael and gave him a bro hug. "Mike! Holy shit man you got tall!"
"Language!" Sandy said.
"Man you got tall too Seth. Great to see you again buddy," Mike said as he returned his bro hug.
Ryan awkwardly approached them while scratching the back of his head, "Uh hey man…" he started as he stuck his hand out, "Ryan, Ryan Atwood."
Michael reached out and gave him a handshake, "Nice to meet you dude. How do you know the Cohens?"
"Uh…. It's a long story."
"Right…. Anyways. What's on the itinerary Seth?" Mike said.
"Actually," Sandy cut in, "the boys have been invited to a fashion show. It's at 6:30, but don't worry, you can borrow one of my suits."
"Oh no no no no," Mike started as he shook his head. "I wouldn't dream of wearing a suit that wasn't tailored for my body. Don't worry I can call up one of my people and have them bring me a suit, what's the dress code?"
"Formal attire, black tie optional," Mr. Cohen replied.
The four of them walked inside the house as Mike got on his cell phone and called up Ezekiel. He ordered him to bring him a black three-piece suit, white dress shirt, and a red tie.
"Wanna play some Tekken?" Seth asked Mike after he finished his phone call.
"You're on!"
The three boys played Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on the PS3 with the loser switching off with the person that wasn't playing. But since Seth was so good at Tekken he never lost so it was basically just Michael and Ryan switching places to try and finally take him down.
"Damn Mike you used to be so good, what happened?" Seth mocked in jest.
"What can I say… none of my friends at Eton College played Tekken."
"Eton College? Isn't that where Prince Harry and Prince William went to school?" Ryan said.
"Correct-a-mundo! What, are you a fan of the Royal Family or something?" asked Mike.
"No, no. I just…. know a lot of useless information."
Sandy appeared from the kitchen after making the boys each a cheeseburger and fries. "Say Mike, shouldn't you have waited until you graduated from such a prestigious school? Did something happen?"
Mike had told them in an earlier conversation that he was back in California for good, attending a school in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of LA. "Oh... heh, I got kicked out actually."
"Oh yeah? What happened? Prank gone wrong? What do British aristocrats even do for a prank? Steal too much tea, oversalt the beans?" Seth joked.
"No…" he said with an awkward laugh. "It wasn't a prank."
"Well, come on, tell us what happened?" Mr. Cohen said.
"I uh… got caught with two girls in my room."
"Dude! Nice!" Seth said as Ryan and Mr. Cohen chuckled at my misfortune. "But really? I mean you'd think the rich muckety-mucks got into all sorts of trouble over there, and they kicked you out for one little incident?"
"Actually I used to get in trouble all the time, that particular one was just the straw that broke the camel's back so to speak."
Mrs. Cohen eventually came down and greeted Michael. The boys spent hours playing games in the living room. Ezekiel arrived at the Cohen house and dropped off Michael's suit, a leather belt, and a pair of black dress shoes. The time went by quickly and then it was soon time to get ready and head on over to the fashion show.
Mike finished tying his tie and then walked downstairs with Seth while Ryan was getting dressed in the pool house. Waiting for them downstairs was Mrs. Cohen in a black dress, black heels, and a diamond necklace. "Oh look at you two! You look so handsome. Scooch together, let me take a picture of you boys."
"Moooooooom," Seth said in embarrassment.
"Come on Seth, don't be like that. Let's take this picture," Mike said as he got closer to Seth.
Kirsten Cohen opened up the camera app on her iPhone and snapped a picture of the two together. Then she walked up to them and showed them the photo. "Look at that, see Seth there's nothing to be embarrassed about, you both look good. I'll be right back, I'm going to check on your father and Ryan," she said as she left to the pool house.
Michael sat down on the couch as they waited for the rest of the members of the party. "So bro, tell me about this girl you've been crushing on."
"Her name is Summer and she's…. the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. I've been in love with her since, I don't know, forever."
"That's your problem right there. You put this girl on a pedestal. How are you gonna get a girl if you think she's above you? Girls date up bro, so you're already giving yourself a handicap by thinking she's so much better than you."
"Well that's easy for you to say Mike, I mean you're taller than me, stronger than me," he said as he patted Mike's arm, "better looking than me."
"Yeesh bro, stop with the pity party. You're not so short yourself I mean what are you 5'10? You're a good looking guy too, I mean of course you are, you've got your moms DNA and she's gorgeous."
"Dude….."
"What? It's the truth," Mike said with a grin. "Oh look here they are, finally, let's go."
Seth turned right to follow Mike's line of sight and saw his parents and Ryan finally appear from the pool house. They all made their way outside to the driveway and piled into their black 2012 Range Rover.
"I'll follow you guys," Mike said as he walked over to his Porsche.
"Oh no, you can ride with us," Mr. Cohen said.
"Well I'd like to drive myself sir just in case I get invited to a cute girls house or an after party or something," Mike said with a shrug.
He got in and backed up out of the driveway and followed behind them to the venue of the fashion show. After a quick 13 minute drive they made it to their destination, it was being held in someone's mansion that sat atop a cliff overlooking the beach. They found some parking and walked inside. They headed to where everyone else was, in the back by the pool.
Guests stood around socializing while drinking alcohol, some sat down on the few tables outside and were eating. As Ryan, Michael, and Seth stepped outside a waiter walked up to them with a tray of appetizers.
"Mushroom-leek crescent? Crab and brie filo?"
Ryan not used to such luxurious (read: pretentious) food couldn't help but gawk at the items on the tray wondering what the fuck 'filo' was. Michael took one of the crab pastries and ate it.
"Mmmm, superb. Ryan, you gotta try the crab."
"Welcome to the dark side," Seth whispered to Ryan. Ryan certainly felt out of his element at an upscale party.
As they headed further to the back a woman grabbed Ryan's arm and stopped him. "So you must be the cousin from Boston, hmm? I don't know how you could do it. I could just never live there."
"Do you… like Seattle? I mean all that rain isn't it depressing" another woman said to Ryan as she groped his bicep.
Ryan chuckled and simply nodded his head. In a city like Newport Beach where the median household income was over one hundred thousand dollars, most of the older women at this party were housewives who loved to spend their days going to the gym, shopping, and gossiping with the other women of the community. So when Seth Cohen's next door neighbor Marissa Cooper mistook Ryan for a cousin from Boston this misinformation had quickly spread to all of them.
The group had since split up, with Ryan being flirtatiously approached by different older women, Seth going off into a corner sulking and wishing he wasn't here, Mr. Cohen went to get a drink at the bar, and Mrs. Cohen began to socialize with some of the other women. As Mike was walking towards the bar so he could get a drink himself he too was grabbed by someone.
A woman that looked to be in her early forties or late thirties. She was beautiful. She had blonde hair, blue eyes, and pronounced cleavage as she was clearly showing off her figure in her tight red dress.
"And who might you be handsome?" She asked Mike in a sultry voice.
"Michael," he said as he shook her hand, "Michael Richards."
"Charmed, Michael. I'm Mary-Anne Fischer. I've never seen you before, did you recently move to Newport?"
"No ma'am, I recently moved to Brentwood."
She chuckled as she held onto his arm with both of her hands, "Ma'am? Oh you make me sound so old, please call me Mary. Let me introduce you to some people." She led Mike towards a group of five and she introduced them as her husband Greg, her daughter Holly, two of her daughter's friends Summer Roberts and Marissa Cooper, and Marissa's mother Julie.
They each exchanged a quick greeting. Mike remembered that the girl that Seth liked was named Summer, and considering she was pretty damn hot he knew it was her.
"Summer you know Seth Cohen right?" Mike said.
"Who?" she replied with confusion on her face.
"Seth, you know, my next door neighbor?" Marissa said.
"And I say again… who?"
Mike shook his head in disbelief, how could Seth even like this bitch. Mike clearly noticed the condescending looks Mrs. Cooper was giving him.
'Ain't no way this bitch is judging me…. my family is probably worth more than all these bastards here.' he thought.
After some conversation and being asked the usual questions by Mr and Mrs. Fischer like what his father does, where he's from, etc. etc. The three girls eventually left to go join some of their other friends they saw. While they were leaving Holly grabbed a hold of Mike's arm, "Come on cutie you don't want to be stuck with the old people do you?"
"I dunno… it doesn't seem all that bad, your mom is pretty hot," He said with a shit eating grin.
"You ass!" Holly dug her nails into his arm.
"What? It's the truth, I mean how else did you get so hot, it certainly wasn't from your father's genes."
Did it really matter what you said to a woman? Sometimes, but sometimes not. Sometimes you just had to be audacious and say whatever the fuck you wanted with a righteous confidence. Summer and Marissa walked over to some other girls while Holly and Mike stopped to talk alone for a bit.
"So 'muscles', what sport do you play?"
"How do you know I play a sport?"
"Because the only guys that are this in shape are either athletes or gay, and from the way you ogled my mom's tits I know you've gotta be an athlete." she whispered flirtatiously.
"Football. I play Quarterback."
"Mmmm," she moaned as she felt up his bicep, "I bet you could toss me around like I weighed nothing."
"Oh you bet, I could fuck you while holding you in my arms."
She gasped. "Mr. Richards! How could you say such a thing, I'm a proper lady," she said with a hint of jest.
"Well then I'll make sure to fuck you properly," Mike said as he pinched her ass. They continued to walk towards Summer, Marissa, and the others. "I'm gonna go get a drink and check on Seth real quick, if I don't see you until the show starts save a spot for me at your table okay honey?"
"Actually, I'm gonna be in the show. Did you really think someone as good looking as me wouldn't walk down the runway? I'm hurt… but don't worry you can sit with my cousin over there," she pointed towards a girl that was with Marissa's group. She was blonde, just like Holly, but unlike Holly she was certainly chesty, and unlike most of these skinny Newpie chicks she had some meat on her bones, and Mike couldn't help but stare at her body.
"Alright well tell her to save me a seat," he said as she kissed him on the cheek and they went their separate ways.
