The Veil

As the sun rose on another day in Lotte city year 2219 there was something different about the day. Not the morning routine of everyone one in those, not what they did prior to getting ready to leave, but something led even the four to believe that the day felt off. Jakub was in the middle of his morning exercise when he felt a sensation, like chills shooting down his spine. Emily had been sleeping at that time because she was exhausted from staying up and reading the night before. She shook away from the same chilling feeling and looked around her room. The two of them ran to the living room and found nothing but each other. They asked one another if they felt the chilling feelings and both said they had.

"What the hell is going on Jakub?" Emily asked.

Jakub looked around the room and checked the halls to see if anyone was coming. "I have no idea but we need to force contact with Elena again. I know she said we shouldn't be speaking too often or we'd be discovered but we need to see if she knows this feeling."

The two stood trying to reach her through telepathy again. Elena calmly answered them. "Are you two okay? What's wrong?"

"We felt a completely different feeling than detecting a reaper. It was an eerie chilling feeling through our bodies. One of the scariest feelings I've felt." Emily told her.

Elena sighed. "It's your Grim, you haven't been letting him or her out enough. They want out so that they can adapt and adjust. Even tied up if given the chance."

Emily and Jakub looked toward each other. "We haven't let them out in a few days. So is the feeling them trying to force themselves out?"

"Yes." Elena said. "They want to grow stronger, as they do you'll be able to do many things with them like create Hollow Zones, Let your Grim ability go to another person, even have your grim fight with you if they tied up high enough."

Jakub was excited and let out his grim. He began to fly around him like he had before. Speeding around his body almost to the point he was unable to be seen. He then landed on his shoulder, sitting on his shoulder was a little grim reaper looking figure. He had a hood on but black smoke coming from where his face would be and had two little swords crossing on his back. He rubbed up against Jakub's neck like a little puppy along someone's leg. "Aw he's adorable! Can I give him a name?" Jakub asked Elena.

"YOU TWO HAVEN'T NAMED YOUR GRIMS YET?" She yelled.

"YOU NEVER TOLD US WE WERE SUPPOSED TO!" Emily yelled back.

"You didn't have to yell that out loud." Jakub said.

Emily summoned her Grim and her barrier appeared around her. The barrier came down once the grim realized Emily wasn't in trouble and hid behind her leg. As if it was shy of Jakub and his Grim. "I take it mine is a female Grim then huh?" Emily asked Elena.

"Yes, yours is a girl and Jakub's is a boy. It's said that Grim's can show emotions that the holder is trying to hide. Looks like someone is a little shy around Jakub." Elena said in a teasing manner.

"NO! How can you even see what's going on?" Emily asked.

Elena began giggling. "You are my reapers, so when you make contact with me I'm able to see what you see if I want."

"I'm gonna name him Zip." Jakub said excitedly

"Zip?" Emily and Elena questioned him.

"Yeah he's small and fast so Zip."

The two of them laughed at him and then called it adorable.

"Well then I'm going to name mine Swoopy. Just because I think the name sounds cute."

Jakub and Elena burst out laughing. "What is a Swoopy?" Jakub said while laughing loudly.

"You have no room to talk." Emily said and then kicked him in the shin.

"Well now that you two have named them they'll start to grow the more you use them. I-" Elena was interrupted by shaking in the afterlife.

Jakub and Emily saw these tears in the air appearing out of nowhere. These tears looked like lightning bolts but stuck in the air and not massive. They would fade in and fade out. "Elena, what are these tears in the atmosphere we're seeing?"

"You're seeing tears in the air? Even inside your home? So you're sure it's not just storming?" She asked.

The two walked outside and looked around. "It's not storming, it's sunny outside. What the hell is happening?"

"This isn't good, I think I finally know what he's gathering the souls for. I think he wants to tear down the veil between us so that true reapers like him and myself can walk the earth. He wants to take over for himself." Elena told them. "If he does that, there may be absolutely no chance to stop him once he tears the veil between us down. He could take over the planet."

"Elena have you heard of the other Harbingers of death?" Emily asked.

"Yes I have, they all oppose us because our power is thought to be the strongest. Us tearing down the veil would allow the rest of them out also. How do you know about them?" Elena responded

"Our close friend here is a Valkyrie. She wants to help us in stopping the heartless." Emily told her.

"Okay, that is fine. Just make sure you can truly trust here because they're known for being conniving. One of them banished me back here after I was once able to walk the earth, I thought she was my friend. At that I don't even know how I got to earth. Anyway her name was Light."

They both stared at each other in awe that the person they see as a dear friend to them is the one who banished Elena back to the Afterlife.

The shaking and tears had subsided. If the veil was going to come down it wasn't going to be today. It seemed that Elena's father did not have the power needed to tear the veil down today.

"We need to go see the doctor and his daughter today. We'll get to you as soon as we can with more information." Jakub told Elena

"Okay." Elena replied and the connection was cut.

"There's no way our Light is the same one right?" Emily asked Jakub

"Even so… I still trust and until given a reason to not I will continue to." He replied

Nicole and Light both came into the living room where Emily and Jakub were standing.

"Let's get going to the doctor's." Said Nicole.

The group headed to Light's car to leave. Emily and Jakub sat in the back deep in their thoughts still. Jakub noticed some guy standing in the road. "What the hell is that-" an explosion went off in the front of the car causing it to flip. That's when they felt the presence of a reaper. Swoopy appeared putting a barrier around Emily. Zip appeared, giving Jakub the reflexes to get out of the car and land safely on his feet. Light and Nicole remained in the car as it flipped. Light hit her head knocking her unconscious, Nicole's body broke through the window as she laid partly out of the window of the upside down car.

Jakub stood to his feet to face the man that was in the street. These threads orbiting around his hands almost like fuses to fireworks or explosives. He threw one toward Emily who was getting up from the ground. The fuse began to light and once it hit the end of the fuse it exploded next to her. Swoopy's barrier protected her.

Emily thought to herself, this is a red type. A destruction type ability and the only known one that had one user. Fuse, the creation of explosive fuses of any length made from condensed air and then the fuse fades releasing all air like an explosion.

The two stood side by side at this point and prepared for what they would have to do. Fight.
