"I've got to get going so I can get ready for classes. I have a test I need to study for in Geography today." I said then watched her sit up.

"Allie." I said then held her hand under the table.

"Me and Ryder have more studying to do. The project is due on next Monday plus Ryder has work so we will probably have to study for...looong hours." Jade said then rose an eyebrow, knowing this would get to Allie.

"Jade stop that." I looked at Jade and bumped my shoulder into hers.

The bell rang and everything got ready to go to their first class. Jade and Allie walked together and I walked with my friends. They kept praising me for what I did. I chuckled and placed my hands in my pockets. We walked into the gym and did our everyday thing in the class. Matt played basketball near us, and Jaiden and I sat on the floor.

"Any news about your record deal?" I asked.

"Yeah, I'm getting that record deal. The signing happens today." Jaiden smiled.

I nodded and looked ahead, watching Allie and Jade talk to each other. They looked at me and waved at me. I waved back then noticed Tony walking to Allie. "Your girl..? She doesn't even want you nor looks comfortable to be around you. Anytime you're around, you're just bad news. It never fails. Allie has said she doesn't love you and it sounds like you're doing everything her exes have done." I said. "You don't love her. You only want her for sex and nothing else. I looked at Tony then at Allie. Allie looked at me and at Tony.

The commotion garnered the attention of the students and coaches in the gym. They came outside to see what was going on.

"I fucking hate you. You are nothing! You-"

"Shut up!" I yelled and my voice echoed down the hall. I was beyond mad, but I didn't know how to truly react so the only thing I could do was look down while Jaiden kept holding me back. "I'm...tired of this. Because of you. Because of you and you alone, I have been miserable. You made everyone here see me as nothing but another tool to use for success. Tony looked at me and glared then laughed a bit. "Look at this man child. Throwing a tantrum. You know it's true that you'll never be anything but a stepping stool. You're MY stepping stool. You'll never amount to anything but another tool for someone else's gain. You're a nerd. Everyone will always see you as a nerd. You will never be anything beyond that."

I looked at Tony and balled my first then looked away. He was right and I didn't want to accept it. I'm just the odd one out. I always have been and will be. Everyone in this college has a redeeming quality and everyone is much prettier than I am. I've always been the one that was behind. Jaiden let me go and I walked away.

Tony chuckled and watched me. Matt and Jaiden chased after me.

I sat in my car and leaned my head against the steering wheel. I sighed and sat back then started my car then drove away from the campus. I didn't know where I was going to go, but I kept driving until I didn't feel like driving anymore.

I stopped my car at a house and parked it then got out. I walked towards the house and walked up the stairs. I knocked on the door and heard some music playing. A woman opened the door and looked at me. She had on an oversized hoodie and wore black lipstick and had her brown hair styled in a bun on the side of her head.

"Ryder?" The woman said.

I looked down. "Sis I need some advice.."

She looked at me then let me in. "Alexa! Pause the music!" She yelled and the music stopped.

I went to sit on the couch and sighed. My sister walked over to sit beside me then put out her cigarette. "What am I doing wrong, Rebecca..? I am obviously doing something wrong. I don't know what I should do anymore."

"Is this about the same issue as last time?" Rebecca asked me.

"Yep. I feel like I got the bad genes of the family. I feel cursed. I've gotten to the point where I am paying to be in relationships." I said and closed my eyes.

"Well the Paid Relationships isn't a bad thing. Not as bad as people make it seem, but everything else seems to be the same. Still getting treated like a tool I assume?" Rebecca said.

"Yep. By the same fuckhead. I hate that guy and just.." I groaned and shook my leg quickly, tapping my heel against the floor.

Rebecca looked at me and crossed her arms. "Where are your glasses?"

"Broke them in a fight." I answered.

"Damn...well I guess me and my boyfriend can help you out. We don't mind." Rebecca smiled then looked at her boyfriend who looked at us. "Right, Lukas?"

"Sure whatever." Lukas yawned and sighed. "He could use a little glow up. He's still rocking the same wardrobe that was popular like two years ago. Time for you to step it up, superstar."

"You can keep your personality and be cool as well, but this is where that diversity comes in. You got book smarts and that scholar attitude, but this is where dad's advise comes in. You need street smarts and a badass attitude as well. You gotta let these fa- these bitches know that you ain't playing around with them." Rebecca said.

"That's not my core issue. I have zero talent." I said.

"Knowing how to speak multiple languages isn't a talent to write home about. My friend Jaiden is a music artist, my friend Matt is a D1 Athlete. Tony is a actor, everyone there has a talent worth mentioning. What can I do..? Speak mandarin, translate Portuguese perfectly? My intelligence might be seen as a talent, but you gotta understand that it's abused by others." I said.

"You do have a talent. You have your mother's charisma and your dad's looks. Use that and you can be an entire personality. You can basically get any job you want with your intelligence, you can do a lot with what you've got, but we can make that better." Lukas said then leaned forward. "Within a week...we can make you better and you'll be able to get whatever girl you want."

"Using Paid Relationships. Since there is a low user base on the app, you can basically take whoever you want on a date and woo them instantly. There is a policy saying if a woman from the agency falls in love with you you can buy them out for free. You can have as many relationships as you want. Women galore." Rebecca smiled.

"I used to work for them then I fell in love with Lukas. He's both book smart and street smart. You have to have a balance. That's your downfall, but it's not your fault. We were in a gated community and nothing ever went wrong where we were, but now that we are in the real world, it's time for you to get those street smarts and a new style." Rebecca smiled

I looked at them and nodded, agreeing to their offer. They smiled and we began to process. Lukas taught me how to fight and took me out to get some new clothes and jewelry, even took me to get my first ear piercing and tattoo. Rebecca was in charge of my make over and hair. She made my hair black and gave me blue highlights.

A week went by and I walked out of the guest bedroom with my suitcase in a white t-shirt with a black jacket and the jacket slightly hung off my shoulders. I had rings on my pinky, middle, and index finger. I wore black ripped jeans and black Jordans. I put on my gold necklace and my three earrings on my left ear. I stroked my hair and looked at Rebecca and Lukas.

"Mmm, if I wasn't your sister and Lukas's girlfriend, I'd fuck you." Rebecca smirked.

I looked at Lukas and he placed his hands in his pockets. He smirked and went to sit on the couch. I walked to Rebecca and she held my shoulders then rubbed her nose against mine.

"If you need anything, you can always come to your big sister." Rebecca smiled then let me go.

"I know. Thank you." I said then left her house and put my suitcase in the trunk of my car. I got in then started it and drove back to campus.

"Tony really caused him to disappear off the grid. I kinda miss the old bro." Matt said.

"Yeah things haven't been the same without him. Even if he didn't have talent, he is still an amazing friend. I can tell Jade and Allie are taking it pretty hard. They haven't been this quiet in forever." Jaiden said and looked at the two sitting with them.

Matt and Jaiden heard some commotion at the courtyard and looked over noticing people staring at me. Their jaws dropped and looked at my new appearance. Tony noticed me and rose an eyebrow. He got up and walked over to me.

"I thought I got rid of you." Tony said and looked at me up and down.

Allie and Jade looked up then looked surprised.

"Oh fuck he's hot..!" Jade said in pure shock.

"Ryder..?" Allie asked in shock.

"Why are you back?" Tony asked and glared. "You should've stayed in your place and that's away from this college. Hey are you listening to me?!"

Tony pushed me and I looked at him. I pushed him back then he stumbled back. He went for a punch. I read his body language then dodged his punch by ducking under his strike then came up and gave him a clean right hook at his jaw, causing him to fall on the ground. Everyone who was watching looked surprised. I looked at Tony and stroked my hair, moving my hair from my eyes.

"My boy knows how to fight now." Matt said in shock.

I placed my hands in my jacket pocket and looked at Matt, Jaiden, Jade, and Allie. "I'm back." I smirked and rose an eyebrow at them.
