A black car parked at the front of the car of MMO Company and Akeem also known as Ali got down from the cab, checking his pocket and paid the paid the cab man off. He stepped by for the driver to drive away and looking at it turning. He had to order for cab because at the estate that MMO Company was located bicycle was not allowed to take in except from motorcycle, so as the poor man that he was; he took bike to where it was not allowed to enter again and struggled to take cab in to that place.
Two securities out of those that were at the gate stood up from where they were sitting as they saw him and they didn't see any tag on his neck, they had known that he was not a worker there.
"Hello Sir! What are you looking for and who are you?" The fat man asked.
"Good morning Sir!" He greed them with low voice and looking at the environment round.
"Morning! Why are you here? Because this place is not where you can't just come for no reason!" The second guy said loudly and sounding rudely.
"I am here to see someone, she is a staff here and her name is Semirat" the two security looked at each other.
"If it's someone that you are looking for, it will better you call that person to call us here with the intercom and you will go and wait for her at the guest's house over there because you can go in there except if you are a staff here. I hope you heard me, so please do that!" The second guy said.
"I have been calling her but she doesn't pick! Even she knows that I am here" He lied, Semirat didn't had any idea that he was coming there and he couldn't call her because he didn't have her new contact.
"Still you have to keep calling her, if she doesn't call us here. Sir you can't enter!"
"Calm down now! We are both men so let help each other. You help me to call her with the intercom in there, her name is Semirat and this is her picture for you to know that I know what I am doing!" The guys looked at each other and the fat guy collected the phone from his hand. Two of them looking at it.
"There are many workers here but her face looks familiar, it's like she is among all those people that use to greet us here very well!" The far guy said.
"She is very nice! She is my Son's mother!" Him too didn't uses to call Semirat his wife or ex-wife since they had divorced each other and both singed the paper.
"Let me see if I can help you because you are a man like me, which department is she?" He keeps silent for few seconds as the fat guy asked, he didn't have the idea of the department she could be now.
"Accounting department! She is a chartered accountant so its accounting department she will be"
"You are not even sure! Come in let me help you!!" The man said, the second guy went inside and Tomiwa's father followed when the fat guy followed them behind.
The fat guy entered into the small house build for them and dialling the accounting department's number using intercom, Akeem was standing outside put his legs on the staircase there and looking at the environment.
"Hello! You are calling accounting and auditing department, say------"Computer was talking when the fat guy heard a human's voice.
"Thank you! A man is here to see Semirat that is the name he mentioned!"
"Semirat! Can you ask him the person's surname?" the man long his face out and asked for Semirat's surname from Akeem and he replied quickly.
"Oh! She is the head of Audit department. She is in the meeting now so let go and tell her and what is the man's name please?" The lady asked.
"He said you should say Ali or Akeem, she will know and I will be waiting for feedback please!" The man put the intercom down as he finished talking to the lady.
The lady too put the intercom down and leaving her office, she was the attendant of Accounting and Auditing department, replies to the calls, treat some files before sending it down to the secretary downstairs.
She entered the meeting hall, walking very smart and her heels sounding slowly on the floor. She was walked to Semirat's left hand on her separate chair that she was sitting and talking to her co.
"A man is looking for you downstairs Ma and said his name is Ali!" put her mouth in Semirat's ear.
"Ali! Ali?" She asked with low voice.
"Yes! He said Akeem if you don't remember that Ma"
"I remember him! I am coming right now" She said with low voice and very surprised didn't believe he could come and ask of her at MMO company.
"They should take him to the guest's house ma?" Semirat just shook her head said yes and the lady leaving the meeting hall. Semirat faced the funny man whom was her partner and friend.
"That my ex-husband is here! Please continue with the meeting!" she said with low voice.
"You son's father! What is he doing here?" the man was so surprised.
"I told you that is how he uses to do if he wants to collect money from me. I will be right back" She stood up, passed beside the man and walking out from the meeting hall. The man called the people's attentions back and continued with the meeting.
Semirat got downstairs and going out, the door opened automatically for her and she got down to the compound. Faced her right directions and going to the guest's house. Akeem was the only one there, sitting on the chair with a soft drink at the front of him and a chicken pie given to him by those working there and all the bills were on the company.
Semirat looked at him as she entered the house, put her hand on the chair at the front of him and standing.
"Why are you here? I am busy inside so talk fast!" Said with loud voice and looking him with bad looks.
"Seat down, not good the way you are standing now!" Akeem said with low voice.
"I am okay like this, it's you that should say what you are here for please"
"Okay Fine! It's about that money Semirat, my life is not safe anymore. That man is ready to kill me if I don't pay his money within the duration of time that he gives me. Give me this money please!"
"I have told you! I don't have any money. Even let me ask you, have you ever spent any money on me before when we are still husband and wife or you have spent on your own son before that you are now asking for return. I am asking you because I don't understand. It's not possible for a farmer that don't have kolanut farm to harvest kolanut for sell"
"Please stop all this proverbs. My life is at risk, do you want me dead. You are the only hope that I have and I know I can get the money from, please give me the money. You have it"
"Look at me, I don't have any money to give anybody. Are you here with your CV? I can help you to get a job, you are a graduate with good greed that will still help you and that is the only help I can provide for you!"
"Please! Stop that, I can't be doing Sir or Ma for anybody. Give me the money, I know you have it even its one month that the man gives me. If the month reach I don't give him is money he is going to kill me and nothing can be done to it because he is well connected. Do you want me dead, are you going be happy to announce me dead tour son because of what you have in hand!" Semirat didn't say anything just looking at him.
"Remember the love that we share then, remember how much you loves me and I too did them. Don't just say nothing concern you and let that man kill me. Please help me! I beg of you" crying and wanted to be using emotional blackmail again.
"Please! Spare me that! All these are in the past. I am sorry I don't have any money to kill you or anybody!'
"You may think I am lying, let me call the man now and speak to him, I am tell you the truth and my life is not safe anymore even that is why I looks for you at all cost because you are the only one that can help me. Let me call him and hear by yourself, I am not lying I swear!" Brought his phone out from his pocket.
"Look here! I don't have any money and don't call anybody because I don't have any business with him. Two of you should go and solve your problem and know how to pay each other"
"Semirat! You can't do that now, you are my only hope!"
"Help me tell you, don't come to my house or here again if not the security will just embarrass you. I am busy and I must go now, if you need job bring your CV and drop it for the security but asking me for money, I don't have and excuse me please!"
"You can go with the drink and pie, the bill is on the company!" She said with low voice, looked at him with bad eye and leaving the place. Ali stood up and looked at Semirat's back going inside.
"Semirat has changed! I know what to do, she must give me that money because I don't want to die!!" He turned back as he wanted to be living the room, packed the soft drink and the chicken pie and leaving the house. He got down to the compound, looked at the entrance to enter into the company and going out.
"Bye! And thank you" He greeted the fat man that helped him and got out from the gate.
