Chapter 90 Upgrade the Disciple

Mount Etna is the home of the god Hephaestus, one of the twelve gods of Olympus who was born to Zeus and Hera. Hephaestus is also the half-brother of Diana, and he assisted her in creating several types of equipment, such as the Sword of Godkiller.

With regards to forging skill, Hephaestus is undoubtedly second to none.

However, he is rather unsightly with a ghastly appearance resembling that of a dwarf in many tales, lacking any sense of divinity. Stephen observed Hephaestus donning an apron, his hands stained red from hammering equipment.

"Are you Stephen?" Hephaestus inquired calmly, eyeing the disciple imprinted atop Stephen's head as he descended.

"Can you fix my time ship?" Stephen inquired straightforwardly.

"You should know there is chaos on Mount Olympus," Hephaestus replied slowly. "There is no distinction between gods and humans, and even some gods are inferior to humans. Although I have never partaken in these power struggles, I wish to restore peace as soon as possible. I can assist in repairing your spaceship, but you must help put an end to this chaos. I know you are capable of that, and I also know you can easily kill me."

His tone was indifferent yet resolute.

"Okay," Stephen responded nonchalantly.

"You can browse around," Hephaestus said as he beckoned other workers to transport the disciple to prepare for repair and transformation. Initially, Stephen wished to witness the process, but found himself incapable of comprehending the seemingly untechnical procedure resembling that of a priest's unscientific transformation.

Hence, Stephen explored his surroundings.

There were various finished pieces of equipment, most of which were cold weapons. Although the materials used were average, the quality of Hephaestus' products was undoubtedly superior. As Stephen surveyed the area, the fire god, Hephaestus summoned him over.

"Try a punch!" he suggested.

A few moments later, the disciple's upgrade was ready and done, and its appearance remained unchanged, except for the mended portion.

Stephen asked, "How much strength?"

"Anything!" Hephaestus replied confidently.

Using the power of demigod Diana, Stephen raised his fist and struck it directly, causing a loud boom. The force shook and staggered the men of Hephaestus, but Stephen's disciple remained unscathed.

"Awesome!" Stephen exclaimed, as he superimposed his demigod power by four times and struck again. This time, the impact only left a slight dent.

"Cool!" Stephen exclaimed. He then stretched out his fist, using his power to increase the defensive ability of his disciple so that it could withstand multiple attacks.

"If we were attacked like last time, even if the defense barrier was broken, the hull would not be affected," Stephen explained.

"This is for Diana. Please give it to her," Hephaestus said, handing Stephen a sword.

"Is this 'the' Sword?" Stephen asked, taking it. "Can it cut through my spaceship?"

Hephaestus remained silent.

"Okay, I guess that's a no," Stephen chuckled. "You're different from the rest of the gods of Olympus, and I have a good impression of you. I will help you deliver the sword, and if you ever need help, just find me. Although I can't give you my contact information," Stephen added with a smile, as he climbed back onto his disciple and prepared to leave.

After upgrading the Disciple with the help of Hephaestus, Stephen went back to try to get an artificial intelligence.

Along the way, he also stopped by Atom's place to research and study nano-shrinking technology.

With a loud boom, the Disciple took off in an instant and rushed out several times faster than before.

After watching the Disciple leave, Hephaestus sat weakly and paralyzed on the ground. He had not cut any corners in upgrading the disciple, especially the intricate and complicated internal structure that had consumed a lot of his energy and divine power.

When Stephen drove the upgraded Disciple back to Paradise Island, it took less time than before, only half the previous duration. The defense and speed had greatly improved, and Stephen was more than satisfied.

Seeing Diana coming from a distance, Stephen smiled and rushed forward to hug and kiss her. Diana was surprised but subconsciously responded slightly.

After a while, Stephen let go of Diana and said with a smile, "Your brother is indeed impressive."

"It's not often you speak highly of others," Diana laughed. "It seems that his upgraded Disciple has satisfied you."

"Yes," Stephen casually handed the Hephaestus Sword over to Diana. "He gave this to me to give to you."

Diana happily took the sword and felt its power. "Where is my Golden Lasso?" she asked, turning her head.

"Well," Stephen thought for a moment and shook his head. "That thing is easy to use, so..."

"Humph," Diana snorted in dissatisfaction. Her slightly arrogant expression made Stephen reach out and hug her, whispering in her ear, "Let's go to the boat or your room."

"We just did it before returning to Paradise Island... why again?" Diana said subconsciously, still in a daze.

Stephen smiled. "I'm like the old thief who learned from Zeus, and I will eventually leave after solving the Olympus matter. You will have to wait at least decades or even hundreds of years to see me again."

"What are you planning, The Flash?" Diana asked.

"Yes!" Stephen replied with a brilliant smile, and pulled Diana onto the Disciple.

After a few steps, Diana slowly broke away. "I...I am now the only pillar of the sisters, and I have to deploy defenses. And don't forget that we are still enemies. I will definitely defeat you next time, even if you're stronger than a god!"

Stephen paused and pointed at the starry sky above his head. "Do you want the stars in the sky? I can steal them for you."

"What?" Diana looked up at the stars. "You want to steal the stars for me? What are you thinking?"

Diana was very confused. Sometimes she didn't know what Stephen was thinking or what he was trying to do.

"I want to secretly change the day!" Stephen said with a bright smile as he looked at Diana.

"Stealing the sky and changing the day? Is this a Chinese idiom? It means to deceive and mislead others by changing the truth of things. What do you...what are you planning to do?" Diana looked at Stephen with bewilderment.

Stephen smiled, waved his hand, and turned back to the Disciple, leaving Diana guessing his true intentions.
