The Dream

Seth dreamed for the first time in a long time that night. Sadly, he dreamed of the pain he went through at the hands of the doctor that killed him.

"Patient 3, are you feeling okay?" A cheerful sounding voice sounded.

"Yes, doctor..." Seth replied out of reflex.

After performing a few tests the doctor made a serious face and began to speak.

"There's a slight problem with the chip. It seems that the chip isn't activating like it's supposed to. We don't know why this is but we promise that we'll figure out the cause before anything bad happens to you."

That promise didn't age well.

Seth woke up covered in sweat and panting. He dreamed of every single torture he doctors put him through to try to find out the cause of the chip not functioning. Eventually, on his death bed, they said that it didn't have enough energy being transferred to it.

Before Seth could think for much longer a sound rang off inside his head.

[Proper energy source found, booting up... process complete. Welcome, user Seth Morningstar.]

[Stats]

(Average value for a grown man from Earth is one)

Note: Average value for an adult in this world deemed to be a one.

Seth was shocked, to think that after all this time the chip would activate. Who would even think that it traveled with him?

Seth looked around blankly, clueless about what to do, excitement and worry mixed inside his thoughts when a new notification sounded.

[Memory absorbing complete... Unknown energy found, would you like to see this newfound energy?]

"... Yes."

Seth's vision was instantly clouded by lights of all different colors. Internally he was shocked (is this spiritual energy!?).

[Vision overload registered, turning off spiritual vision. If you find a form of energy you want to be able to see just think about it in your head.]

Seth's first thoughts after he found out about his spiritual vision wasn't of finding better meditation spots, but using it to potentially see spirits and reach the seeing stage of necromancy. Full of hope, he left towards the necromancy practice hall of the sect and decided to try his newfound ability out.

Arriving in front of the big silver sign that said 'Spirits', Seth activated his spiritual vision.

His vision was instantly overwhelmed and he hurriedly thought of a solution.

'turn off the spiritual vision for every form of energy that has been seen before.'

Afterward, Seth saw what he was seeking. A swarm of blue particles in the shape of a fish that swam around in the air could be seen.

Excited, he turned off his spiritual vision only for astonishment to appear on his face. He could still see the fish. Not only could he see the fish, but he could see all the spirits in the area. A flaming red lion, a green-winged tiger, a brown elephant, and more. Clearly one only needed to see spirits once to enter the seeing stage, and his cheating apparently counted as seeing.

I feel that this chapter is of low quality.
