A Monster Hunter in a Highschool For Monsters (Rosario+Vampire)

I hunt monsters for the Government. That's what I was raised for, and it's what I died for. It's all I'd ever known, other than a few on and off romances I'd had with other hunters, and a few life-long friends I'd made by hunting and surviving with them. I was never religious. I felt if there was a God or a Devil, they might as well be the same person. So imagine my surprise when I wake up on a bus, in a younger version of my body but the body already had an identity. Imagine my further surprise when I found out that wherever I was going, was in fact, a school. A school full of monsters. How did I find this out? A weird pink-haired girl sucked some of my blood and called it the most delicious thing she'd ever tasted. (A warning from the Author: Sappy romance will be very prevalent in this story, so get out now if you don't wanna see it. Don't expect complex romance but don't expect anything too simple. There will be a few obstacles but not anything too major.)

A Run-In With A Succubus And A Misunderstanding

I saw her eyes shine, sending out some kind of pulse which began to affect my mind, and I suddenly felt the overwhelming urge to hug her.

But, of course, I didn't.

I bit the inside of my cheek hard enough to break the skin and the pain knocked me out of whatever charm she was trying to employ, "Now, why would you try and charm me, Succubus?" I asked with an innocent yet menacing smile.

The blue-haired shorty looked at me with ever widening eyes as she realized her charm didn't work, "What...what the hell?" she asked, more to herself than to me personally. She went to break out of me holding her but I kept her close and began to walk away, "W-what are you doing?! Let me go, you idiot!" she yelled out with a face red from exertion.

But for a monster, she wasn't that strong, honestly. Well, not to me, at least.

POV Change - Moka Akashiya

"Hm...Where's Tsukune got to?" I mused to myself with a pout, looking around the lovely forests that surrounded the academy.

He was meant to meet me at the food hall yet he never showed up and I had to sate myself on the blood they had on site. After having some Tsukune's every other type of blood tastes yucky! That's why I always go to him when I'm hungry now.

Though...I feel like that's not the only reason I hang around him.

As I wandered through the forests, I saw the broad back of Tsukune's and I smiled. But just as I was about to shout for him, I noticed he was carrying someone. A girl. In a princess carry, no less.

A pang of bitterness welled up in my chest when I saw this, though I have no idea why. Seeing Tsukune so close to another girl...hurt a little? No, it hurt a lot. Why does it? Why does them looking like lovers and being so close together, sting my chest so much...?

With Tsukune smiling like he usually does, and the girl being red in the face...how did I not know Tsukune was so close to another girl?

(A/N - ...Moka, she's not blushing! She's trying to escape from Tsukune's grasp and she's gone red from exertion! You're misunderstanding the situation you air-headed Vampire!)

Suddenly a voice came from behind me and I spun around as it spoke, "Keke...aren't you a popular one, boy?" I heard the deep voice, obviously addressing Tsukune, before seeing a man dressed in bus driver's uniform, "But be careful of women or you'll regret it," he laughed again before taking a big puff of his cigar.

I was just shocked that someone was right next to me and looking at Tsukune as well, "Who are you?!" I asked out, somewhat shrilly in my surprise, and backed away from the suspicious man.

"Kekeke...just you're average passerby," he laughed as he answered again - what's so funny?! - before turning around and walking off.

I didn't spend time watching him any longer and I turned back to where Tsukune was. Or had been, at least, as he'd disappeared. I just stood there as the image of those two so close together replayed itself in my head constantly. But putting a fist against my chest, I nodded to assure myself as I thought of what to do; next time I see Tsukune, I'll ask him what his relationship with that girl is! He's my friend, so I'm allowed to ask, right?!

Running off back to school, I began to think of other things as thinking about Tsukune and that girl only made me feel sour inside.

POV Change - Tsukune Aono

"So, tell me, why did you try and Charm me?" I asked, looking down at the short girl or was sitting across from me with a can of juice while I was standing and drinking a can of iced coffee - the only tasty thing in the drinks dispenser at this school.

The girl, Kurumu, was sitting opposite me with a pout as she sipped at her juice like a child who'd been caught with their hand in the cookie jar.

"I...well, your...Urgh," she tried to explain but she always cut herself off and in the end she just groaned in frustration, "Why didn't you just let yourself get charmed?! I would've treated you well and good and I would've been better than Moka Akashiya at the very least!" she spat out as she placed down her can and looked away from me, obviously pissed.

Hearing her, I rolled my eyes before squatting down to eye level with her - she was sitting on a particularly wide and big gravestone (pretty disrespectful, I know) - and I spoke to her, "What's Moka got to do with this?" I asked before continuing, "And what would charming me do to help you?"

"Because if I took you from her, I would've shown that I was the most beautiful girl in school! And then I could've continued with my plan! My plan to have every male student become my slave!" she said, gaining more and more enthusiasm as she continued before she stood up on the gravestone and pointed down at me, "And with you, I could beat up any of the people who tried to go against it! I know what you are, Vampire!"

"Eh?"

"Pale skin, black bags under your eyes, and a gloomy yet handsome appearance! You're exactly how Vampires are described in the books!" she exclaimed before jumping down off the gravestone, giving me a decent view at her panties as her skirt was moved out of the way by the wind but I ignored that as she continued, "I also know about you beating up Saizou Komiya without even getting hurt yourself. Only a strong Yokai like a Vampire could do that!"

"...Right," I got out as I stood up and got ready to talk my way out of this.

"Though it is weird. I don't remember them saying Vampires smelt so good in the books," Kurumu wondered with her finger on her chin before suddenly exclaiming, "BUT it doesn't matter! It's only a positive. I can't have a slave that stinks after all," she said with a self-assured nod.

"...Okay?" I said, unsure how to reply to what she was saying without giving away I was a human. Moka knowing was fine, honestly, because I knew she wouldn't give me up.

But this girl...I can tell that she's not evil or anything like that but maybe she'd try and blackmail me into helping her if she found out. So, it'd be better to let her believe her own hype than for me to correct her.

"Well, you can do what you want, Kurumu, but leave me and Moka out of it, yeah?" I said as I turned around and got ready to walk away but I stopped and turned to give her a sidelong glance, "I'm being serious here, Kurumu. I'm not against beating a girl either, so unless you wanna end up like Saizou Komiya, keep me out of your harem plans, okay?" I said before walking away.

Kurumu didn't reply but I could tell she was riled up by what I said which was the opposite to what I wanted. Next time I'd have to take a softer approach and not threaten her with violence.

...What? Threats with violence usually work like a charm.

. . .

Getting back into school, I was looking for Moka when I realized there was a bit of a commotion going on just outside our classroom. Quite a few students were looking at something and whispering to themselves.

As I got closer I heard a voice I knew and sighed.

"My plan was perfect! I should have had every guy wrapped around my little finger! However, they're all dreamy over you, not me!" I saw Kurumu shout at Moka as she got in her face, "I won't let you get away with this! And I won't lose in a battle feminine charm!" she said, standing on her tippy toes to get more to Moka's height who was half a foot taller than her.

Making my way through the crowd I heard Kurumu continue speaking, "I'll prove I'm better than you by stealing Tsukune Aono from you and there's nothing you can do to stop it!" she said and I saw Moka's face go a slight bit pale before she took a step forward with her hands up.

"Tsukune doesn't have anything to do with this--!" Moka tried to get out but Kurumu cut her off.

Sneering, she spoke up, "What kind of monster are you anyway? I hear that Tsukune is a Vampire. Though from how good he smells, he must be a Dhampir!" she said in a confident manner, leaving Moka too shocked for words as Kurumu continued, "I'm a Succubus and a male of that standard should belong to me!"

"Um...I'm a Vampire, actually," Moka got out which made Kurumu freeze instantly before robotically looking to Moka.

Before anything more could happen, I made my presence known, "Both of you need to calm down. You're attracting an awful a lot of attention to yourselves," I said with a smile before raising my hand and planting it on Kurumu's head as she tried to latch onto me, "What did I say, Kurumu?" I asked her with narrowed eyes that made hr avert her own and look slightly embarrassed that she been caught out so quickly.

Turning to Moka, I gave her an apologetic smile, "Sorry I couldn't find you quick enough at Lunch. Kurumu said she needed someone to take her to the infirmary and we ended up having a chat. I'll make it up to you however you want later, Moka," I said but I felt a slightly angry aura around her.

"You say you're sorry...but why are you acting so close to that girl, Tsukune?! What's your relationship with her?!" she stuttered out in a shout, her cheeks red and her green eyes looking slightly teary.

"What do you care?" Kurumu got out before I could answer, a sneer evidently on her face from the tone of her voice, "Now that you said you're a Vampire, I can recall some rumors that say you try and suck Tsukune's blood whenever you can; he's just food to you, isn't he?" she said with a confrontational tone.

"N-no! Tsukune is my friend!" Moka said with a tone that beginning to get genuinely angry, "You just want him for that stupid harem of yours, so shut up!" she fired back and I knew I needed to put an end to this right now.

"Stop it, both of you," I firmly said, my voice loud enough to put them both into a state of silence. Turning to Kurumu, I spoke first, "Kurumu, Moka doesn't treat me like food. She treats me very dearly, actually. It's not her fault that she craves blood and I'm sure she does her best to control it when she's around me," I said with a stern tone and Kurumu looked away, looking guilty at her accusations when they'd been refuted so easily.

"Tsukune..." I heard Moka's voice and how she seemed genuinely touched by what I said but I turned to her and leveled a gaze at her that made her flinch like a child that had been caught doing something wrong by their parent.

"And you Moka, don't get so feisty with Kurumu even if she is being an idiot," I scolded and saw Moka nod with a slightly saddened expression while Kurumu just pouted at me calling her an idiot. Seeing Moka's expression, my own expression softened as I continued, "Don't worry, I won't fall for her tricks or whatever. I'm a bit offended you'd think I would," I laughed, earning a small smile from Moka.

"Mhm...You're right, Tsukune," Moka nodded before taking a step closer, "I should have trusted you...as your friend, that is," Moka got out with slightly red cheeks which made me chuckle.

Though as she was about to continue, Kurumu suddenly got in between us, "Moka Akashiya, is you're only his friend, you won't stop me from romantically going after him, will you?" she suddenly said which instantly made Moka's face go blank while my own was kind of stunned at the audacity this girl had. The courage too - she had just said that in front of like a dozen of so students.

"W-what?" Moka asked, her mind obviously having been frazzled by what Kurumu had just said.

Before she could answer Moka, I grabbed Kurumu's shoulder and spun her around to face me as I spoke, "You're a really beautiful girl, Kurumu but I really don't see you that way. Well, maybe we could become friends first or what but I don't think I'm gonna jump right into a relationship with you. Don't think that is even slightly close to happening," I said with a stern look but it didn't seem to deter Kurumu as she spoke out to Moka while looking up at me provocatively.

"What do you say, Moka? Afraid you'll lose you're precious 'friend' to me?"

"Stop," I said, seriously this time, as I could see Moka getting genuinely upset again, "If you act like this, don't think you'd ever win over Moka. She's win again and again just by being herself. So pack it in and stop this charade and we can talk this through like mature people and not like children," I said, hoping to get through to her.

But she just grit her teeth and glared up at me as I felt her aura fluctuating.

"Why..." she asked, her voice seeming both angry and hurt, "...Is she actually that much better than me?!" she yelled while looking up at me.

Her aura was now expanding and getting ready to release and I knew what this was; she was about to enter her true form. This was the same thing that happened when Saizou started to transform and it couldn't just be a coincidence.

Kurumu spun around and suddenly wings burst out of her back as she spoke, "Then I'll just fight Moka and show you that I'm the better monster!" her nails lengthened into long claws and she rushed at Moka.

But just as she got a few feet, she stopped dead in her tracks.

Why? Because I was holding her tail in a vice grip, of course. Though just as I was about to do something about her, in a less violent way to what you're thinking of course, I heard Moka shout out and stop me.
