CHAPTER 1
:IN THE RAIN
It's raining very strong outside. Marinette woke up late on her first day of school, she didn't realized the time because of the cold morning. Marinette rush downstairs to their dining table and grabbed cereals and milk to put in the bowl for her breakfast. After having a smooth breakfast she went to the bathroom to take a bath and change to her new clothes for school especially designed by her. She grabbed her bag and kisses her parents a goodbye. She opened her umbrella and she run fast as she can until she got into their school. She bumped to someone and almost fall when she's stepping on the stair way but luckily she was safe when someone grabbed her by the waist and lend her a hand.
"Are you okay?" the boy said with dashing smile and Marinette was mesmerized for the very first time
Marinette stands up and act normal, "Thank you, I'm okay" she said and walk with him
Marinette realized it was her first time to felt something like that.
Pounding heart, happiness, smiling all of a sudden, the feeling of wanting to hold the boy's hand, the feeling of wanting to get closer to the boy.
"My name is Adrien by the way, it's my first time to attend school in Paris, we moved in" the boy spoke to Marinette while they are on their way to the classroom
"Mine is Marinette Dupain Cheng, I've been here since I was born" she mumbled
"Great! I wish I could spend my 3rd year high school with you" he said smoothly
"You're in 3rd year???" Marinette's eyes glow knowing that Adrien is the same grade as her
"Hm, are you in 3rd grade too?" Adrien asked knowing what her answer is going to be
Marinette nodded, "Same grade ha-ha" Marinette look so happy
They enter the same room, Marinette went ahead and sat next to Alya her bestfriend.
Adrien sat next to Nino they seems to get along pretty well.
Nino turned around, "Hey dudette, it's my friend Adrien the one I'm talking about" said Nino
Nino has been talking about his friend since first grade and Marinette didn't expect the description to be so valid. That's why she thinks Adrien is familiar the first time she sees him.
"New boy in class what's your name?" Alya asked
"Adrien Agreste nice to meet you" said Adrien handshaking Alya's hand
"I'm Alya Cesaire and this is my friend Marinette" said Alya back at him
"Hi again Marinette" Adrien turned to Marinette and had a smile crept on his face
And Marinette just wave back at Adrien
Alya then whispered to Marinette, "Do you know him?"
"I just met him earlier, his so handsome don't you think" Marinette complimented
"He is but totally not my type" said Alya being honest
Alya then notice Marinette has been staring at Adrien while Adrien is having fun talking to Nino. The four of them sat across to each other.
"Mind telling me something Marinette" Alya smelled something fishy going on, she thinks her friend got a crush
Marinette didn't even hear what Alya just said because she was so focus to Adrien, it's like she saw an Angel and can't take her eyes off him.
After class in the morning, Chloe Bourgeois run towards Adrien.
"Adrinkins!!! You are really here" she muttered happily hugging Adrien to the fullest and Marinette seems to be jealous, she felt angry and sad at the same time
"Chloe, Haven't seen you for quiet a long time" Adrien replied back at her
They were talking very sweet, Chloe introduced everyone to him even though the homeroom teacher already did earlier.
Alya stands up and grabbed Marinette's hands, "Common let's have lunch together"
Marinette followed her. And she felt something wrong inside her, her heart is aching thinking about Chloe and Adrien. She brush all the negative thoughts and just eat with Alya.
"What's the matter?" Alya asked when she notice Marinette is not eating her food
"Nothing, I just felt a little lonely" Marinette said to Alya
"Is it because of Chloe and Adrien? I think I know the reason pretty much" said Alya agreeing to her guess
"I'm okay" she mumbled
And the whole class in the afternoon she was numb, she doesn't felt like talking.
When classes is over Marinette and Alya went outside together and it's still raining heavily. Alya look for her umbrella and she remembers she lend it to someone earlier.
"Forgotten yours?" Marinette said
Alya nodded, "I give it to someone"
Marinette then give Alya her umbrella, "Then you won't have your umbrella?" Said Alya worriedly
"No worries, I have an extra inside my bag, now you go, I'll stay for a bit longer I got to go to the library" Marinette said
"Okay, I'll bring this back to you tomorrow" Alya went first
When Alya was gone Marinette didn't really go to the Library she lied. Everyone is going home and only a few people are left behind. It is raining heavily and Marinette doesn't want to sail the rain. So she wait until the rain stops. But it didn't. The school is about to close the principle just got off.
"Marinette you're still here, Don't you have an umbrella earlier" Adrien startled Marinette
Marinette's heart started beating as she looks to Adrien.
"I give it to Alya so she wouldn't get sick" Marinette honestly said
Adrien opened his umbrella, "Can we be friends, Marinette?" Adrien said sincerely
"Friends?" Marinette repeated
"Hm, I just feel whenever I'm with you I'm me, it's the feeling that if without you I'm incomplete" Adrien stated
"You want to be friends" said Marinette in complete fluttered
"I wish to be friends with you" said Adrien
"O—of course" Marinette muttered
Adrien walk through the rain with his umbrella on and ask for Marinette's hand, as Marinette reach for Adrien's hand, he pulled her closer and got Marinette stock with him on the umbrella. They walk through the rain and they reach the car. It's Adrien's car.
"Do you want a lift?" Adrien asked
"I'm better off my own" Marinette refuses Adrien
Adrien realized he was still holding Marinette's hand so he let go, he then handed the umbrella to Marinette and went inside the car.
"See you at class tomorrow" Adrien bid goodbye
"Uh-huh, see you tomorrow, thank you Adrien" said Marinette sincerely
She only received a smile back at him, the car left and Marinette was happy playing in the rain as she remembers how Adrien treated her earlier.
She didn't thought she would have this wonderful scene in the rain with Adrien.
This would be the most memorable memory for Marinette. As she fall in love with Adrien 'In the rain' but she still doesn't realized that.
