A Mysterious Old Man

Dumaguete City, Visayas (Philippines)

During the afternoon People were walking on the streets like any other usual day.

In an alley between two buildings, an Old man was looking at the guy in front of him. though this old man has ragged-like clothes and an old face, you can see ruby-like eyes that contained deep wisdom.

"Boy you look bored," he said with a neutral tone while looking at the Asian-like man in front of him.

'An Old Man in an alley, a strange feeling that I got, and now a random question out of nowhere. This seems like a pattern of something...But, what was it?' The young man thought.

'Well, If I had forgotten it, It must not have been important.'

The man stared at the Old Man for a few seconds and decided to answer his question:

"I do, I guess? After all, I just kept repeating the things I do every day from waking up in the morning, working until night, and sleeping in the evening then repeating the process the following day. so, yes I guess you could say that. anyways, who are you old man?" said the man while looking at the old man in front of him curiously.

'Hm? Wait, That's weird, when did I start opening up to people? And why did I just explain all of it to him without any hesitation?' He thought while suddenly being a little wary of the Old Man in front of him.

'Oh? He's being wary of me, That's a good trait he has there. Looks like he has experienced plenty of bad things throughout his life, Though that's a big plus for me' Thought the Old Man in a fraction of a second.

"You don't need to know who I am, Just answer me this question: If you were given a chance to go to another world would you accept it? if yes then what kind of being would you like to be reincarnated as?" said the old man in a neutral voice.

'A few minutes ago he asked if I'm bored, now a question about reincarnation? What's next? A system?' He thought while having a strange feeling in his very soul.

He stared at the Old Man for a few seconds and calmly said:

"Though I don't believe the things you said about that other world stuff, to answer your question 'Yes I would like to go to another world but if I were to go to another world I'd rather be a demon or devil, something like that perhaps to have an advantage over others.' said the man.

'Looks like I am quite lonely, for me to answer every question this Old Man asks...' he thought while feeling bitter.

"Perfect! now have this, whatever happens, keep this safe, for this will help you with certain problems" said the old man while giving a ring to the man in front of him.

'Questions, then now a ring huh?' he thought.

The man accepted the ring and looked at its details attentively, the ring looks cool while having a skull-like design that has horns on either side of the head while having its eye sockets glowing crimson red.

'Yow! This is a nice ring!'

'Hm? Why do I feel like I have seen this ring from somewhere before...'

'Maybe It's just my imagination, after all, if I had already seen this, why would an Old Beggar that I have never met have it?' He thought while denying it completely.

After Observing the details of the ring for a few more seconds, I decided to introduce myself to the Old Man.

"My name is Blake by the way. The design looks cool, especially with the glowing eyes on it. Can I have this old ma-?" said the man.

==={3rd Person Perspective}===

'Hmm? wasn't the old man here a minute ago? that's strange, did he teleport or something?' After searching the place for a couple of minutes, upon noticing that he can't find the old man and only a few more minutes before it will get dark, Blake decided to go home.

Upon arriving at his house Blake quickly ate his dinner and showered, after showering he dried himself with a towel and wore clothes as he jumped to his bed.

He was just laying there while reading novels for an hour or so, the Novel that he was reading was about a cliche Unrivalled Protagonist trying to reach the peak with a harem by his side.

'Sigh, Why would you want plenty of women? Isn't one of them troublesome enough?'

While reading he suddenly looked at the ring in his hands that the old man gave him this afternoon, 'Today was a weird day, having met the old man, the question about what to be reincarnated as, this skull-like ring and his sudden disappearance...'

Upon remembering the question asked by the Old man, he thought:

'If I were to be reincarnated as a demon or devil, I would search for entertainment to have fun such as manipulating humans or something. though it's not like it will happen or something.'

He read a novel for a dozen more minutes before looking at his phone, he noticed that it was time for his scheduled sleeping time.

'I better sleep, I still have work tomorrow morning- *yawn* -I don't want to be late.' having closed his eyes, a few minutes later the ring on his hands suddenly glowed in red brightly.

It was so bright that every house in the neighborhood can see the light. then for a few seconds, the red light suddenly disappeared like it was not there moments ago.

After the red light disappeared, in the bed where Blake was just laying a few moments ago, You can see that it currently is empty and Blake disappeared like he was not laying there a few seconds ago before the red light suddenly glowed.
