An Unknown Journey Towards You

It's a grand wedding. Everyone is so happy. The groom is waiting for his bride across the aisle. His face is beaming with happiness. He had pursued his wife-to-be for a long time and finally, she agreed. He loves her very much which is written all over his face.

Suddenly, everyone looks in one direction. There is silence for a moment, the footsteps of the bride can be heard as she walks the aisle. She is wearing a beautiful bridal dress. Everyone looks at her with envy. And then, they all start clapping and passing smiles toward the bride. The bride has put a beautiful and elegant smile on her face. People regard her as Modern Cinderella. She can hear people passing comments.

"What a lucky girl! I wish I was her."

"His husband-to-be loves her very much and he is extremely wealthy."

"It's like Cinderella's story came true in real life."

"She is so gorgeous. I envy her."

"They both look good together."

"They both look so happy."

But the truth is that no one knows. Just because you look happy doesn't mean you are happy. The groom loves his bride but the bride doesn't love his groom. How do I know you would ask? Let me tell you the story of both of their individual worlds.

It was spring, a weather known for happiness and a new beginning. The cherry blossom trees were in full bloom and rustling by the gush of the wind. Among all the hustle and bustle around, a girl sitting on the public bench under those cherry blossoms were showering in it. The blossom petals fell on her head while she was reading an old folk tale and meanwhile a stranger girl of her age came near her and asked for her permission to sit down and started a conversation.

"Hello! May I sit here?"

"Of course, it is a public bench. You need not ask my permission."

The stranger girl smiled.

"Okay!" She sat down and saw the title of the book in her hands, "What are you reading? It looks interesting."

"Oh this...!" She smiled gently, "It is an old folk tale about an orphan and lonely boy who always tried to please others by sacrificing his own wishes because he craved for love. He thought that by doing so someone may love him one day and truly care for him."

"So did it happen what he wished for?"

"Actually, no. He was used by others and eventually he lost himself doing so. He died with many regrets."

"Well, I guess it was supposed to happen since good people are always taken advantage of. Excess of everything is bad."

"I don't think that way. Each person has his own point of view. One should not take other's kindness for granted. I don't know about the boy but, perhaps, because the people were always mean so the boy suffered everyday but he still hoped for good in people. In my opinion, kindness and cruelty never dies. It comes back to you in this world. Maybe the boy did received this kindness somehow but he never noticed because all his life he only focused on his sufferings. May be he never noticed the true good things he had."

Very astonished and amused, the stranger girl looked at her and replied.

"I see! You view the world in your own glasses."

The girl with the book smiled politely and asked, "Really? I guess that's how I am."

At last the stranger girl introduced herself and so did the girl with the book.

"By the way, I am Daisy. Sorry for the late Introduction."

"Daisy...symbolizes innocence, loyal love and silence...I like it. My name is Canary."

"You are just like your name, living in your own world, and amuses people around you. Although it is the first time we met but I truly like you a lot. Would you like to be my friend?"

Canary emphasized through a laughter and pointed at her and Daisy's badge.

"I don't think that's something you should ask because it's guaranteed that we would be friends. We both go to the same school."

"Ah!" Daisy was astonished and replied, "I didn't even realized."

"Hahaha! It would be fate if we both have the same class."

They both were high school students and they stood up and went together towards their school. As Canary stood up from her seat, a boy her age who sat the opposite side of her seat on the same bench mumbled some words.

"It probably is fate."

Coincidently, he also went to the same high school as them.

As the school bell rung, the students went to find their classrooms. As Canary entered her room and found her seat, she saw a familiar face right next her. It was Daisy. Daisy also noticed her and the bond of their friendship gradually started to strengthen. The fate truly plays strange games on people. Unknown to Canary, the boy at the cherry blossom bench held the seat before her. What more games would this 'fate' play with them?....No one knows.
