December 7th, 2066.
Munich, Germany
A blonde man was wearing a face mask and luxurious clothes walking on the disgusting streets of Munich. It was daytime, but it was dark and cold. The street was with with corpses, rats, sewage water, and empty bottles. He hurried back to his apartment not wanting to spend more time in the shithole of a lowland.
While walking to his apartment, he encountered a human arm from a corpse lying on the streets. Instead of just walking past it, he kicked the arm away from him and moved past it. He saw it, yes, but he didn't care. He hated it.
He entered the building he was going into and went into one of the elevators. He swiped his identity card hoping to not have a much richer person than him go to his floor much faster. But chances are immensely low since he is one of the top 1000 richest. The elevator that was on the 25th floor and still moving upwards suddenly began moving down at a much faster rate until it reached the ground floor.
The elevator door opened and he saw a lot of people being crowded into the elevator. He showed his ID to the crowd to show them that he was a much superior man than them.
"Get out"
He said in a strict and cold voice. The crowd meanwhile just easily gave up but without murmuring.
He gritted his teeth, he hated slaves. Of course, it was inevitable for him to be alone in the elevator, but it would've been better if at least someone argued with him, but alas none of them did.
He entered the elevator, swiped his card and a voice came out
"Access to all floors granted, Where do you want to go Mr. Nassau?"
"255th floor"
The elevator didn't respond with a voice and instead just proceeded to go to the topmost floor. A floor that he owns. He just stared at the window with disgust in his eyes. There was not a pleasant view, only the sights of ugly and basic rectangular skyscrapers, and dark clouds made out of pollution. He couldn't see a single ray of sunlight, not until the 170th floor, and even still it was barely.
He reached the 200th floor and he can now at least see sunlight, tho the dark clouds ruin a supposed majestic view. He reached the top floor or the 255th floor which was 4 kilometers and 200 meters. After reaching the 255th floor he immediately started coughing.
"those fucking goblins! Just wait until I fix all of this!"
He gripped his hands so tight that some blood began oozing out of his hands. After some time, he calmed down, grabbed a remote and pressed a button
a hologram came out that appeared to be like something to contact someone.
"Contact Hebert Schneider."
The hologram stalled, most likely attempting to contact Schneider. While waiting, Nassau took off his face mask and pressed a button on the remote to activate one of the privileges of a higher floor. The moment he pressed the button, the lightbulbs began to generate light that is almost equivalent to sunlight. While he may feel the sunlight coming through the window, it was not enough.
The hologram successfully contacted Schneider.
"What is it, Mr William?"
Schneider asked William with an annoyed tone. He must've been doing something else. Something that popped out William's curiosity.
"Mind your tone, Schneider"
Schneider just stayed quiet in response.
"It has been 16 years since the project was established. So why? Why hasn't there been progress? Just what are you doing in all these years?"
Schneider just stayed silent not wanting to get lectured by his boss
"cloning, cloning, cloning, cloning."
Nassau gripped his hands so much that blood began dripping out of his hands.
"Such basic things you couldn't even achieve."
"What you're asking for is impossible, there is no way we can have all of those blessings app-"
Schneider shouted
"Is your brain so small that you cannot think outside of the box? We have the genes and the technology! Are you that incompetent to not use the technology money can buy? The human body has 46 chromosomes. And we have 7 blessed genes. Cut 6 each of those genes leaving only the needed parts to 6 and a half chromosomes and you will have 39 chromosomes. And add in my chromosomes, cut it into 7 and you will have will have 46."
"We already did that! The results were abnormal"
"But have you split up the chromosomes again, turn them into egg cells and sperm cells, and then mix up the cells to create an offspring? Each cell would have 3.25 chromosomes of each gene and 3.5 chromosomes of my genes."
"That would cause implications due to incest."
"Why would that be a problem if we remove the implications from the chromosomes?"
Schneider just stayed silent. He couldn't argue anymore and he just wished to keep his job.
"I gave you all control over the project because you have potential. Impossible this, impossible that. People who doubted me over my last project said that. The people who thought it would be impossible to transfer the head into a different body are now groveling at my feet wishing to prolong their meaningless lives"
Schneider didn't respond.
"I am taking over the project, you are fired."
"sir! PLS DON'T"
Schneider finally responded, screaming in shock. No, it wasn't shocking that he was fired considering how incompetent he was.
"p-pls sir, p-pls don't. I-I need this position"
He began to stutter, as he tried to keep his tears from leaking from his eyes.
"My decision is final, pack up your things. I am going to facility B. Meet me up there, There I will discuss your termination"
He planned to go to Facility A because it would be the more logical considering it is the first letter of the alphabet. But he instead decided to go to Facility B since it is the nearest facility. That being in Frankfurt. William immediately terminated the call with Schneider and instead of calling the elevator, he just used the stairs to move a floor up. Once at the rooftop of the building, he walked toward the landing pad for helicopters. He took out his phone and dialed for his helicopter.
It arrived in less than 10 minutes. He got on the helicopter and the pilot asked where he was going
"Facility B"
Using the best helicopters at the age, they managed to reach Frankfurt in an hour and 9 minutes. He entered the facility peacefully. Some people who have been working there for decades felt fear when they found him walking around the facility checking it. While most newbies found it weird that someone who is not wearing any uniform is strolling around the facility. They wished to kick him out but decided not to when they looked at their senior's faces. He managed to locate Schneider's office at facility B and just waited for him by sitting at his seat.
It didn't take long enough until Schneider arrived at the facility. The door opened and came Schneider silently looking down. He closed the door, but the door opened again and bodyguards flocked to William's side. The bodyguards all dressed formally. Schneider immediately noticed everyone except William was wearing noise cancellers.
William threw a single piece of paper with his signature on the desk. A termination of contract.
"Sign it"
Schneider just stared at the paper for some time, until his hands came rushing for William's throat. The bodyguards easily held Schneider away from William. William just let out a sigh of disappointment. He didn't really plan on killing him, but now, he is dangerous. He wished that Schneider would just leave the facility peacefully and live out his days in boredom.
Schneider immediately reached out for his bag and retrieved a noise canceller. He put it on his ears.
With a nod, one of the bodyguards pulled out a handgun and aimed it at the side of Schneider's head. One of the bodyguards pulled out a cloth and wrapped it around his mouth. Schneider loved frantically trying to get away. The bodyguard handling the gun pulled the trigger, and the sound of the rail gun was canceled by the noise canceller walls.
The bullet pierced his head and his body began shaking uncontrollably. His body stopped shaking after a few seconds and all pf the bodyguards except for two let go. The other one who was holding his arm walked towards his feet, and carried it up. The two bodyguards, began to carry the corpse away from the office and a bodyguard who was near the door opened it up.
"you may leave"
William said to the guards while removing his noise canceller from both of his ears. The guards in response left the office peacefully.
Looking at the room, William found a folder. He stood up, took the folder and read what it contained. They were the funds for the project being sent to different accounts. William let out a sigh of annoyance.
'to think he let some people know of this project'
He wasn't mad that he stole money from him. They were merely pocket change. But what he is mad about was that there may be some people wishing to interfere with his projects.
William took out phone, put it into a "secret mode" and texted an unknown account. After texting it, he sent the account 12 quadrillion aureus. A generous amount, but in reality it is only the wage of 200 hours. Such is a life of a dystopia, where money became digitalized. Money has no value in the world, the only thing it has value is because everyone must use it to trade.
