That's not really fair game

The supporters had on the official sports uniform belonging to Middleton's rugby team, they were more than ready to represent their school.

The ride to the hometown of the team they were going up against was at best an energetic ride with everybody chanting and cheering their upcoming victory.

Through the ride Cameron had to make sure his camera was on the lowest quality ever while Maddie besides him made sure her Camera was on the best quality

"If these footages don't get me fired then I have no clue what will." Cameron said.

'_Cameron wore a navy blue and white school team jacket with pride, paired with black jeans and sneakers, all matching perfectly as he walked confidently towards the stadium_'

"Don't worry dude, when she sees my awesome pictures then she will have to drop your ass for me." Maddie added.

—'At 15 years old, Maddie still has smooth and unblemished light-toned skin, and her side ponytail even though styled to be similar to the 80s version still adds a touch of youthfulness. Her sky blue eyes remain eye-catching, but they may have gained a bit more depth and intensity as she grew into teenage years'—

"I feel like I should be worried about the two of you." Abbie voiced her concern.

—At 15 years old, Abbie's chestnut brown hair still falls in loose waves around her face, though it may have grown longer and gained more texture. Her warm brown eyes continue to twinkle, as she entered her teenage yees—

As the trip continued, the bus in front, which contained the main sports team came to an abrupt stop which led to the one behind slowing down for an early stop.

"What's going on?" Cameron raised a question lowering his camera. "Why did the bus in front of us stop?"

"I don't know, maybe one of us should go check it out." Abbie suggested.

The bus in front was blasted into the mountains just after the football team had made their way off.

A bunch of students from the bus behind ran outside to get a closer view of the incident, the teachers tried their best to stop them, but they were easily overwhelmed.

"Oh my god."

"Are our guys okay?"

"I really hope they are, that was one hell of an attack."

"What did that to the bus?" A student wondered as he attempted a closer look. A sludge monster climbed to the top of the toppled over bus gazing down at the students with his sludge partner besides him.

"This is great footage." Maddie said barging through the crowd trying to find her way to the front.

"What the hell is that?" Abbie asked.

"Looks like some sort of alien." Rianna a random background character guessed.

"I think it's a mutant." Mason a random background character guessed.

"We can never really tell nowadays, but I think our best guess is that it's a mutant seeing the havoc that has been coursed." Billy a random background character said.

"Could be anything." Mackay a random background character said.

"It's footage that's what it is!" Maddie exclaimed when she found her way to the front.

Abbie looked around. "Doesn't seem like there's a law enforcement nor hero anywhere nearby."

A green light glowed behind the secondary bus then BurnOut leaped straight out the flash and onto the top of the bus catching the attention of everybody.

"Here we go!"

BurnOut charged forward into the fight dodging a bunch of sludge attacks from the sludge mutants before fighting back with a ton of fireballs.

The mutants decided to use their tag advantage to gain a number on BurnOut by constantly jumping at him with their bodies - The fire alien was able to hold a great endurance by avoiding each and every body throw.

"The team can't be late for the game." BurnOut leaped into the sky and crashed in between the two sludge mutants and then fire blasted them both to the side.

The crowd of students cheered on the fire alien as it continued going to work on the mutants.

"Hey!" He turned to the students. "Get out of here! Each and everyone of you GET OUT-" He paused and winked toward Maddie's camera before continuing, "-OF HERE!"

The teachers stepped out the secondary bus so they could guide the students inside in a formal manner, their plan failed as the students tackled them down so they could enter the bus.

Some of the students dragged their fainted teachers inside allowing the bus driver to speed forward escaping the entire battle.

The distractions were gone giving BurnOut the perfect scenery to go full power - he started his full power round with an explosion of fire that pushed the two slime monsters into the railings between the road and the grass.

He then jetted forward after one of the mutants grabbing him and bringing him to the sky where he proceeded to deliver an inferno beat down to him before dropping him and going down to his friend and deliver the same beat down.

The last mutant fell into his partner combining them into a slightly larger sludge mutant that had the strength to lift the bus, before they could throw the bus, BurnOut swooped in, tackling the combined mutant through the road with a blaze of fire following his lead.

BurnOut jumped back, "I better catch up with everyone else before this darn thing times out."

[ Moments Later ]

The coach from the home team approached Middleton's coach with a hesitant handshake and a forced smile.

"Welcome to our school," The hometeam coach said warmly. "We're excited to host you and your team today!"

"Thank you," replied Middleton's coach. "The pleasure is all ours. Your team has a great reputation, and we're looking forward to a great game."

The hometown coach grinned. "Well, we're always happy to meet worthy opponents. This should be a great match-up."

Middleton's coach nodded, looking toward their field. "From where I am, I can already see the excellence in your home field."

The hometown coach beamed. "Thanks, we take pride in our school and our sports program. But let's not get too distracted by the amenities- we're here to compete, after all."

"Agreed," said Middleton's, chuckling. "Alright, everyone, make your way off the bus and explore, unless you're playing today."

[ Later on... ]

"Now that we're here." Cameron said as he turned to Maddie. "What do you think is good enough for me to get a crappy recording of?"

"There's like a ton of stuff to get crappy recordings of, you just need to know where to look." Maddie nudges over to the butt of one of the staff members.

"Oh that's for real going to get me fired."

"Whoa!" Abbie jumped in. "I think you two have had your time of being together and clearly it is not benefiting neither of you."

"Just like a quick snapshot." Maddie suggested.

"No! Are you seriously trying to get Cameron in trouble with Léla? You know how careful she is with Cameron."

"She won't know until he gets caught."

"Maddie?"

"Fiiine." Maddie groaned, then her eyes caught sight of the coach sneaking into the middle of the forest, "I'll just go find something else to get footage of."

Maddie left to find new footage, with her now gone, Cameron and Abbie were left alone. Later the two were walking along the tree-lined path that traced the edges of the rival school's campus.

Abbie sighed. "I still can't believe he's gone. Aiden was such a great guy."

Cameron knew he had to choose his words carefully.

"Yeah, he was," Cameron said, placing a hand on Abbie's shoulder. "But you know what they say; sometimes things just don't work out."

Abbie turned to Cameron, her eyes searching his face. "Do you really believe that? I honestly feel like our relationship could've progressed a bit more, if it just didn't end the way it ended."

Cameron gave her a small smile. "Look don't dwell on the past, and yes I do believe that. And you know I'll always be here for you, no matter what."

Abbie gave him a grateful smile. "Really?"

"You're always doing the same for us, making sure we're safe and not in that much trouble, so it's only fair that we do the same for you." Cameron said to her with a smile.

"Thanks... I kinda see why Léla likes you..." Abbie stated, before checking her phone. "The game is about to start, we should probably go get Maddie, huh."

[ Meanwhile ]

Maddie stepped carefully through the dense forest, her camera clutched tightly in her hand. She had followed the rival school's coach all the way here and could see a small cottage through the trees.

As she got closer, Maddie heard the sound of voices. Peeking through the window, she saw the coach conversing with a large sludge mutant.

"So, did you take down the school bus like I asked?" the coach asked, his voice cold and demanding.

The mutant growled, "Yes, but I don't want to hurt anyone else. It was wrong what you made me do!"

"The only thing that's wrong is that you didn't take out the football team. I needed them injured so they wouldn't be able to play in the big game," the coach snapped. "And don't forget, I know your secret. I can expose you at any time."

Maddie's heart raced as she listened to the conversation. The coach had forced the mutant to attack her school bus, and now he was using the mutant's secret against him to do his bidding.

The mutant tried to defend himself, "I couldn't hurt those kids. It's not right."

The coach glared at him, "You don't have a choice. You're a mutant, and mutants shouldn't be allowed to exist. I'll make sure everyone knows what you are."

"Holy shit..." Maddie said to herself slightly, while recording, "Now this is worthwhile shit."

Maddie had barely stopped recording when the coach turned around, spotting her crouched in the bushes. His face twisted into a sneer as he gestured to the sludge mutant.

"Get her!" He shouted. "Don't let her leave."

The mutant morphed quickly and started after her. Maddie gasped before turning and sprinting into the forest. As she ran, she could hear the mutant's uneven footsteps behind her.

Maddie was fast, but the mutant was faster. He was gaining on her quickly and the forest around her started to blur with her speed. Suddenly, he extended his arms and cloned himself, creating multiple copies of himself.

Maddie skidded to a stop in confusion. The ground beneath her started to morph, shifting and undulating.

Then, everything went dark. Maddie's vision went black and she felt her legs give out beneath her. A shot of electricity hit the ground between Maddie and the mutant, separating some room.

"It appears to me that I have arrived with impeccable timing. Despite fretting over the possibility of being tardy, I realize now that such an outcome was unlikely since my mental faculties are akin to my computations - highly accurate and precise." articulated Static-Brain.

The sludge mutant groaned. "No! Leave! You're ruining everything by being here, I can't fail again, so just let me take the girl and I promise you she won't be hurt."

"Are you attempting to negotiate with me, my friend? It seemed rather outside the realm of your capabilities, considering I've always viewed you as something of a wild card. To be honest, I wasn't even aware you possessed the gift of communication, though your vocabulary and tone suggest there may be a deeper motive at play. Are you perhaps in the employment of someone else?" inquired Static-Brain.

"You just don't stop talking!"

Static-Brain narrowed his eyes as he stared down the sludge mutant, his alien brain crackling with electric energy.

The sludge mutant simply grinned, its body bubbling and morphing as it began to break apart, splitting into multiple smaller copies of itself.

"Ah, I see that you too possess the ability of duplication. This presents an interesting and unnecessary complication for our present circumstances."

Static-Brain shot a bolt of electricity at them, but the sludge mutants continued to split apart, dodging and weaving around his attacks. They started to swarm around him, surrounding him from all sides.

"Give me the girl alien hero! This will all be taken care of when you give me the girl!"

"I will not be able to oblige with those orders."

Static-Brain tried to fend them off with more bolts of electricity, but they were too fast, too numerous. He was quickly outnumbered.

"It is somewhat vexing that events have transpired in such a manner, but it appears I will have to resort to the seemingly cowardly approach in order to achieve resolution in this ongoing conflict.

Static-Brain grinned as he shot up a powerful crackle of electricity out from his brain, the crackles were similar to fireworks, but they were direct. The alien quickly used this distraction and escaped.

[ Moments Later ]

Maddie woke up with a slight headache, she checked around and noticed she was seating on a park bench. Cameron and Abbie walked up to her with some drinks in hand.

"Is our little super star awake?" Abbie asked.

"Y-yeah." Maddie said rubbing her head, "W-what- how did I get back here?"

"One of the alien heroes said that they found you sleeping in the middle of the forest and so he decided he'd bring you here, at least that's what Abbie told me." Cameron said.

"Yeah, that's why I was worried if you were okay, wait maybe you suffered a head trauma or something now you forgot everything."

"No, no, that's not the case." Maddie said holding her head.

"Then what happened?" Abbie asked.

"Ugh, it's like all a blur for some reason, I'm getting like a headache everytime I try to hink about it." Maddie revealed.

"In that case, just leave it, I don't want you to get any more damages while you're thinking." Abbie said with concern in her voice.

"We might as well head back to the game, Abbie you saved us seats, right?" Cameron asked.

"After you bailed on me? Yeah I saved us seats."

[ Later on in the day... ]

The game continued on and the opposing team was clearly in the lead. The Middleton team weren't even able to gain one point.

The students of Middleton continued cheering for their school as they believed their team could still pull off a mircale of some sort, they just needed to believe.

Through the midst of it all, Maddie caught sight of the coach of the rival team grinning through the entire match.

"Right!" Maddie quickly remembered, "The coach. I overheard the coach and that sludge mutant talking with one another, discussing their villainous plan or to be more frank, he's villainous plan."

"He?" Cameron raised a question, "Is their like another guy on standby or-?"

"The coach. He's behind all of this, and he wants to take down our star player, so their school can have easier road to winning. We've gotta do something."

"That's not happening, you're took weak to do anything, I think we should contact the police and explain the situation." Abbie suggested, with worry guiding her choice.

"I have evidence on my camera." Maddie revealed. "I was lucky enough to have them recorded."

Cameron sighed, "I'm gonna go get a quick refill." He said as he showed them the empty cup, "All this talk has gotten me a bit worried and when I'm worried I always get thirsty."

"What if that mutant is out there, and you get hurt, or worse killed." Abbie voiced her concern.

Cameron gave Abbie a calming smile, "Dude, you worry too much, I'm just gonna get a refill and I'll be back before you know it."

The half-time bell rang and the teams regrouped in their lockerooms.

[ Fastforward into the lockerooms]

As the boy trudged towards the football captain, there was a palpable hesitation in his movements. He knew that violence was not the answer, but his emotions had gotten the better of him. Suddenly, Cameron appeared from out of nowhere, tackling the boy before he could reach the locker room.

"W-what? W-who the hell are you?!" The sludge mutant exclaimed.

"Somebody who forgot transform, fuck!" Cameron realised his stupidity in the situation, "Anyway, I'm someone who wants to take you down because you, um, you attacked my bus! I know you're the sludge mutant!"

"How-? That girl! Damnit! I don't have time for this, I'm on a very important job and if I'm unable to complete it then, my entire life will be over!"

"Seems to me you're just overreacting, is this really all worth injuring a person for?"

"So you even know the plan, huh, seems like that girl has really ran her mouth." The boy's body morphs into sludge and he escapes Cameron's grasp then punches him straight into a wall. "You'll be dealt with later... first I have to focus on more important things."

"We'll see what's more important." Cameron said as he waited for the mutant to head into the locker room before pressing through the Omnitrix and then transforming.

With a sudden burst of movement, Mimick exploded from the ground beneath the locker room with a resounding punch, catching the sludge mutant off guard.

"Stop right there!" Mimick shouted, standing in a defensive stance.

The sludge mutant growled in frustration, his fists clenching tightly. "I won't stop until I've finished what I came here to do."

Mimick was confused. "What are you doing? Why are you trying to hurt the football captain? What is so important." he demanded.

The sludge mutant hesitated for a moment before replying in a low voice, "What's so important, you ask? What's important?! Look at me!" The mutant transformed back into a normal kid, "If I fail, my secret of being a mutant will be revealed, and that's worst for people like me-"

"-because mutants are outcasts," Mimick muttered, beginning to understand.

The football captain scrambled out the shower before sprinting out of the room. The sludge mutant growled and broke into four sludge clones that surrounded Mimick. The original sludge mutant quickly chased the football captain

"We're not done yet," Mimick said breaking for clones from his body, and then jumping into the hole he created.

[ Moments Later ]

The sludge mutant found his way onto the football field and was heading toward the opposing team when Mimick exploded from the ground.

"I'm tired of this now!"

"Speak for yourself, buddy!"

The football field they stood on was empty, giving them plenty of room to fight their clone war.

Mimick started by sending out a flurry of clones in all directions, each one identical to the last. The sludge mutant morphed into a few copies of itself, preparing to take on Mimick's army. The two sides charged at each other, each clone struggling to take down their opponent's.

The battle was fierce and chaotic, with dozens of clones crashing into each other and exploding in a shower of goo. Some of Mimick's clones managed to get through the sludge mutant's line, only to be subsumed and absorbed by the mutant's clones.

But Mimick wasn't giving up. He created even more clones, determined to overwhelm the sludge mutant, and just like that he was able to hold the sludge mutants in a tight circle, but just before anything could play on the omnitrix started blinking between green and white.

"Damnit!" Mimick exclaimed, "Of all times!"

"This stupid watch has the worst timing in the world."

"I agree to that statement tenfold."

The sludge mutant groaned, "I will not give up, I refuse to suffe-"

Just in time, a video played on the big-screen, the video was the one Maddie was able to record, the interaction between the mutant and the coach. Six Mimicks could be seen standing in the studio, waving to the Mimick below.

The mutant reverted back into a boy and fell onto his knees, his secret was revealed to the world, it was officially over for him.

Mimick thought he didn't have time to say, something, but when he noticed the watch was still blinking he knew he had sometimes, "Sometimes you just have to show the world the real you, and whether they like it or not they'll have to accept you for you."

"Hypocritical coming from you, and from what experiencing are you even speaking from?!" The boy turned to Mimick who had dug away with all his clones, "... that's what I thought..."

Editors Note - So yeah. The chapters are longer, apparently this helps with really fleshing out the story. Though I'll say I'm still trying to keep in with a short limit of words per chapter, and yes the character reintroduction is unnecessary, but I like it. We're nearing end game, so I have to go all out with these chapters.
