Chapter 16: Desperate for Fertile Land

Eron Arisato and his three men, along with the Anshin Clan member, stood around a roaring fire in the hidden cave. The Town of Alric's chilling winds still lingered in their bones as they relayed the cruel deeds of the Hilkir Clan to Oscar Anshin, their fearless leader.

Eron's voice crackled with anger as he described how the Hilkir Clan ruthlessly confiscated food from innocent villagers. "They took everything, Oscar," he said, his fists clenched in frustration. "They left our people starving, with no regard for their well-being."

Oscar's eyes burned with an intense fiery determination as he absorbed every word. The welfare of his people was of utmost importance to him, and the injustice inflicted upon them ignited a fire within his soul. "We cannot allow this to continue," he declared, his voice laced with resolve.

Before Oscar could act upon his impulse to retaliate, Eron stepped forward, his hand resting on his leader's shoulder. "Hold, Oscar," he cautioned. "We must not let our fury cloud our judgment. A reckless attempt could lead to more suffering for our people."

Eron's words resonated deeply with Oscar. He took a moment to calm his racing thoughts, realizing that a plan was needed, a plan that would safeguard their people while dismantling the Hilkir Clan's tyranny.

"We need to ensure the safety of our people first," Eron suggested. "We should scout the province of Khul Zir and the lands beyond its borders. There must be hidden pockets of fertile land yet to be discovered, where we can grow crops and find more food."

One of the Anshin Clan members, Hideo, chimed in, his voice filled with optimism. "I've heard tales of lush fields and bountiful harvests in the land of Ithil Anron, not too far from here. If we spread out and search, we can gather enough food to sustain our people through the winters."

Eron nodded in agreement. "But we must be cautious," he added. "We need to establish outposts or bases in strategic locations. These posts will serve as storage for food, hiding spots if needed, and escape routes if the situation escalates."

Oscar's features softened as he listened to the wisdom of his friend and comrades. A plan was beginning to take shape, one that would alleviate the sufferings of his people and bring justice to their oppressors. Together, they would forge a path to a better future, free from the yoke of the Hilkir Clan.

All of them agreed and tomorrow they are going to find this place which Hideo describes, on the next day. They left the cave to find the fertile land while Oscar left behind to managed order.

Days turned into weeks as they scoured the province, their efforts rewarded by the discovery of fertile lands in Khul Zir. With their knowledge of the land, they strategically established outposts, hidden away from prying eyes, filled to the brim with food and supplies.

Eron, Hideo and others who went with them cheered when they find what they are looking for, soon Eron found himself numerous ideas and  soon realization downed on him.

If they shared this to others, it would become common. Due the rumors from the Anshin people will reach the ears of and the Hilkir Clan Leaders will take this place as their own, Eron will tell small people he could trust. Oscar also knew the consequences if this discovery got leaked, they need to be careful about passing this information that can change the fate of Anshin Clan.

In the heart of an unforgiving landscape, where the sharp, craggy cliffs seemed to pierce the heavens and the rumble of the sea echoed ominously, there flourished a living contradiction - a secret, verdant land of bounty and grace. This was the clandestine haven unearthed by and his three hardened companions from his Clan .Among their ensemble was a singular member of the Anshin Clan, wrapped in these mysteries as well.

The four men emerged dramatically from the bowels of a hidden cave, their weathered faces and eyes radiating a sense of purpose. It was Oscar, a young, fiery-eyed warrior who broke the dense silence. He was brimming with questions about this clandestine land, his curiosity aroused by the cryptic discussions. Yet, a deal was a deal, and the men of Arisato, bound by the code of honour, refused to betray its secrecy outside their sanctum.

Eron, guided Oscar towards a secret chamber nestled within the cave. As Oscar's eyes fell upon the silhouette of his trusted advisor, a sense of trepidation began to form. Within this hidden enclave, away from prying eyes and listening ears, truths were unveiled under the muted glow of a single candle flame.

The tales spun by Eron painted a visual image in Oscar's mind. An untapped land, fertile and bountiful, with the potential to feed not just the Arisato Clan but the entire population of the Anshin Clan as well. The idea encapsulated the very spirit of their struggle - to survive, to thrive, and to defy the odds. This revelation, while hopeful, carried with it an enormous responsibility. For in the hands of the merciless Hilkir Clan, it spelled doom for them all.

Understanding finally dawned on Oscar; it wasn't deception but necessary precaution that led Eron and his men to guard this information. Having understood their motives, Oscar felt a surge of relief. In that moment, a bond of trust and respect was forged between the clans - a bond strengthened by a shared secret and a common enemy. Oscar and Eron, united in purpose, set about drafting a cunning plan to safeguard their secret sanctuary.

Under the blessed cover of darkness, they plotted the best approach to protect this precious asset from the scheming Hilkir Clan. They devised clever diversions, envisioned stealthy patrols, and proposed discreet harvest schedules.

All the while, they knew the success of their plans depended equally on keeping a low profile within their clans. This wasn't just a piece of abundant land; it was their lifeline, a beacon in the midst of war and discord. It was their secret weapon to keep the valiant spirits of the rebels nourished, both physically and mentally.

Thus, planning well into the shadows of the night, the dawn of a new era was forged in this secret chamber of the cave. For, it was not just a scheme that they had created, but also an irresistible hope for future prosperity. Thus, the secret harvest was more than a clandestine operation – it was, indeed, a testament to their perseverance, resourcefulness and indomitable spirit.

Eron and Oscar make their way  to the surface of the world, to get some air. As they stood at the entrance of the cave, peering into the darkness, Eron's brow furrowed with concern. He knew that the presence of the Hilkir Clan in the province posed a risk to their plans. If any of the clan's scouts were to spot them transporting their farmers or discover the secret land, their hidden sanctuary would be compromised.

Eron turned to Oscar, concern etched on his face. "Oscar, do you think it's wise to remove the Hilkir Clan from the province? It seems risky, and I fear that it will only draw more attention to our activities."

Oscar scoffed at Eron's reservations, examining his trusty Glock 20 with a practiced eye. "You worry too much, my friend. The Hilkir Clan is a mere annoyance. With their constant meddling, it's clear they have no regard for the peace of this province. Besides, removing them from the equation will ensure the safety of our secret land."

Eron hesitated, doubtful of Oscar's certainty. "But what if they have scouts that might spot us during the process? We cannot afford any slip-ups."

Oscar's confidence barely wavered as he holstered his gun. "Trust me, Eron. Our plan is foolproof. We will execute it with precision, ensuring that no Hilkir scout discovers our secret. We have taken every precaution, and our farmers will be safely relocated before anyone even suspects a thing."

Eron understood the gravity of their decision but found himself swayed by Oscar's unwavering confidence. They devised a plan to keep the Hilkir Clan occupied, allowing them to move their farmers discreetly. Oscar called upon his network of allies, strategizing how to divert the clan's attention away from their activities.

Back at the Capital of Hilkir Clan, the leader, Kellan, sat at his grand oak table surrounded by his trusted officials. The air was heavy with tension as they discussed the pressing issues that lay ahead for their clan.

Winter was approaching, and the economy of the clan was in dire straits. The harsh climate had taken its toll on their crops, leaving them with meager reserves. The prospect of surviving the cold months seemed bleak, and Kellan knew the consequences of a failed harvest all too well.

As they pondered their next move, an official named Cedric cleared his throat. "My Lord, there is a solution to our food crisis," he said, raising an eyebrow.

All eyes turned to him, anticipation hanging in the air. "Speak, Cedric," Kellan commanded.

Cedric took a deep breath before continuing. "There is a small land in Ithil Anron. It is fertile, lush with crops and resources. If we were to conquer it, we could sustain our clan through the winter and beyond."

The room erupted in murmurs of agreement and excitement. The thought of a bountiful land filled with possibilities invigorated the officials. Kellan, however, remained cautious.

"Conquering a land is no easy task," he cautioned. "We must consider the resistance we will face from the Anshin people who still dwell within its borders. They have proven to be resilient."

Undeterred, Cedric leaned forward, his eyes shining with determination. "My Lord, we shall do whatever is necessary to destroy those who oppose us. Our clan's survival depends on it."

Intense deliberation ensued as Kellan and his officials meticulously planned their conquest. They devised strategies, studied maps, and prepared their troops for the inevitable clash. The fate of Hilkir Clan relied on the success of this endeavor.

Unbeknownst to Kellan and his officials, a fateful meeting was taking place in the shadows of Ithil Anron. Eron, and Oscar, had rallied a group of determined rebels against the oppressive rule of Hilkir Clan.
