Dinner

*Knock* *Knock*

While Mark was busy peeling a potato, he heard someone knock on his door.

The person responsible for the knock on his door is no one other than Alissa who was disguised as Elena. She was there to invite him for another dinner, however, she got rejected by Mark, because Mark was planning to make his own dinner.

This of course, was no problem for Alissa. She had actually already foreseen such an accident in her plans, because she knew a bit about Mark's character already. She knew that he was the distrustful type, and therefore had already accounted the chance that he might not be willing to agree to Elena's invitation every time.

The most important reason for Mark to reject Elena's dinner however, and the most logical reason that Alissa is able to guess, is that Mark rejected her invitation because of his diet. He is someone who has been showing his love for workout lately. Obviously, he'll try his best to keep a protein rich diet with low sugar intake…

Although his diet might not be his actual reason, such an assumption of Alissa has a chance of being at least fifty percent true and is more logical than her assumption of Mark simply being a distrustful person.

With Mark's problem basically being sugar intake, Alissa had no problem counter attacking his rejection. The reason why, is because Elena isn't really the type of person who likes to eat sugary stuff. With Elena being that type of a person, it was easy for Alissa to formulate an extra plan in the case that the brilliant plan of hers goes to failure.

In the end, Alissa's plan did indeed eventually meet failure, however, luckily, her extra plan did not. Her assumption about Mark having a certain diet was correct, which means that she could heartily continue with her backup plan.

"Your own dinner? Sounds delicious… Can I join and help you out? I haven't made dinner yet, and only wanted to know if I needed to prepare extra for you."

Such was Alissa's backup plan. Preparation and counter preparation…

"Uhm… Yeah. Yeah. Come on in. You don't have to bring your cooking ingredients. I have enough money to buy more next time." It took only a slight second for Mark to hesitate, because after that second, his entire expression changed into an inviting one, as he welcomed Elena into his house.

"Wow. You're quite the fancy man… Very nice place." Alissa commented after she had entered Mark's home, obviously acting, since she had already been inside his house many times.

"Haha… Thanks. Want to help me peel some potatoes?" Mark asked.

Alissa didn't disagree to such an offer, since she had basically promised him her help before she had entered his home. Peeling potatoes together with him was also the best choice in her opinion, because that way, she'll be able to interact with him more, while also keeping eye contact.

Alissa was able to strike a nice conversation. It wasn't too perfect however, since she had to take it slow first before moving onto the step of getting closer to him. Only by making Mark have romantic interests for her, could she bring him over to relive the memories that Evan had with her. That's why she needed to take things a bit slow at first. Both her and Evan had never done any sexual activities, nor have they ever really kissed with an actual and mutual display of romantic interest.

Obviously, her reasonings are self explanatory…

With things being like that of course, she surely needs to plan things out perfectly, and also has to be very patient with her plans. Whether it will be difficult or not, she won't give up either way…

"So… What do we do with this? Do you have any oil for frying?" Alissa still continued to act as ignorant as ever.

The potatoes had been cut into strips, which means that Alissa had asked the right question at the right time. A lot of raw fries were ready, and Mark was rinsing them with water at the moment.

"Sorry, but your dinner might come a little later than mine. My air fryer isn't that big." Mark told the sad news to Alissa, and added half the amount of total fries in the air fryer.

"Air fryer?" Again, Alissa acted as ignorant as she's supposed to be. Not a lot of people within the town have air fryers after all, and Elena is certainly not a part of the group that has them. Not only that, but because nobody really talked to her, she wouldn't know exactly anything new. She really is quite the ignorant person, which also means that Alissa is performing her role very well.

"Yes. Some kind of electric device that uses air instead of oil to fry. I'm not too sure. Technology has never really been my brightest…" Mark gave Alissa what he believes is a satisfying explanation.

"I see…" Alissa simply replied, looking like a student instead of a guest.

Time soon came to pass as the two started talking more while preparing their food. It didn't take too long before the two were done with preparing their food.

Nearly two hours had passed since they started…

It was ten in the evening. The two were sitting behind a small dining table, on the opposite side of each other. On the table, there were plates that held fries and fried chicken, and lastly, two cups of hot black coffee…

It was time for the two to finally dine on their dishes…
