Chapter 9 Change

3 days passed, and I wasn't the same after that day. Cedric took care of me, but gave me some space. He didn't push me to tell him what happened.

Nyx and Drazyn stayed as close to me as possible. They never left the outside of my room. For 3 days I stayed in bed thinking of what to do. In reality I only had 2 choices. Give the king what he wants or fight against, him, and I couldn't fight against him alone.

I sat up from the bed. Maybe the decision was already made. Could I really let my father continue this charade. Could I really continue to let him. Hurt people, to hunt my dragons.

The answer was simple. I stood up from the bed and walked to the door, then slowly opened it. "How are you feeling my lady" William asked. "Where is Cedric." I asked. "He is currently in his office Miss" William answered. "Thank you" I said walking past him and down the hallway.

It was time for change. The kingdom... the people who lived in it they weren't safe. When I got to cedrics office I knocked on the door. "Come in" he said from the other side. I opened the door and entered then closed the door behind me. "Mari" Cedric said standing from his desk. "How are you feeling is everything ok?" He began to question obviously concerned for my well being, as he walked over to me.

I just looked at him for a second before I answered. "I want to go to war" I told him straight forward. "War?" He Questioned. "Yes" I said. "My father... he is a monster... my dragons are far from safe and if my father gets his hands on them no one in this empire or continent will be safe" I explained to him. "I... I agree with you Mari" he said. "I've been thinking about this as well, but we have no allies" Cedric said. "No but I know where we can make some" I replied "what do you mean?" He asked. "For the past 3 days it's all I've been. Able to think about" I said "going to war with my father, how to do it where to start and then I thought their is one particular nation that are enemy's with my father" i explained. "Geria" Cedric said. "Yes" I answered. "You wish to make an alliance with Geria?" He asked making sure he was correct. "Yes" I told him. "What makes you think they would become allies with you?" He asked. I smiled "I have dragons" I said.

"Marianna" he said "I can't help you" he said with a disappointed look on his face. I put my hand on his cheek and just stared at him for a minute. "I know" I said giving him a light smile. "But that won't stop me" I told him then turned around. "I can help you prepare for travel and send a letter to the queen of geria but I cannot help much more then that" Cedric said solemnly.

"That is enough" I said as I stared at the door. After a moment I walked out of his office and back to the room he had let me stay in. I knew from the beginning Cedric wouldn't be able to help me, not completely. He was a Duke after all. And if he was caught he would be killed.

I went to my room and began to pack there was no time to waste. Cedric would no doubt send a letter with magic as not to be caught.

Luckily I had my mother's side of the family in Geria. That was why Zera and Geria became enemy's. They blamed my father for my mother's death. My mother who was the 3rd Princess of Geria.

Suddenly Cedric entered my room. "Have you heard back already" I asked as I continued to pack. "Her Majesty will be expecting your arrival by teleportion.

I turned to Cedric. "Even the dragons?" I asked. "Even the dragons" Cedric replied. "They are still of a small enough size my magic can teleport them" he added and I closed my bag then walked over to him. "Thank you so much for everything you've done for me" I told him. "I truly wish I could help you with the first stages of the war but I unfortunately cannot at least not yet" Cedric said. I grabbed both his hands and looked up Into his eyes. "I understand more thwn you know" I told him.

I then released his hand and grabbed my single bag on the bed. "You are not bringing any of that" Cedric said with a smile. "What ever do you mean?" I asked him. "You are going to Geria as a Princess set on going to war with her own kingdom, you must have the outfits and accessories of such. William has prepared your outfits for Geria but Hedi here" he said as a maid Suddenly appeared in the room, "will be helping you prepare for today" Cedric finished.

"Hedi you may begin" Cedric said as he walked out of the room "as you wish my lord" Hedi said with a smile on her face.

She quickly cleaned me up. She brushed my hair down and put a purple sparkly off the shoulder dress on me. It was definitely weird has I hadn't worn a dress like this in roughly 3 Years.

Hedi walked me outside where Cedric and nyx and drazyn were waiting along with the luggage I would bring. Cedric just stared at me for a moment. "Do I look that weird?" I asked with an awkward smile. "You look gorgeous" he said giving me his hand and helping me down the stairs. I couldn't help but slightly blush.

"I'll see you soon princess" Cedric said "until next time Duke" I replied. He started the spell and we slowly began to fade. But before completely Disappearing I gave him a kiss on the cheek. Before he could say anything I was in Geria standing in front of the queen my grandmother.

"Princess Marianna, my dear granddaughter it is about time you visit me" she said greeting me.
