"…W-What do you think, Miach?" Hestia asked in a barely audible voice, though everyone in the room could hear her clearly.
"His life is not in danger. There are no visible abnormalities…"
Miach replied with a frown. He had been filled in on the details of this mortal by Hestia, who couldn't afford to keep secrets from him as it was an emergency. Though, she trusted him as he had promised not to reveal anything to anyone else.
Miach couldn't detect any problems within Ryuu's body, even with his divine abilities. He also couldn't see anything more in his aura. It was as if "something" was blocking him from seeing further. Despite this, Miach wasn't really trying to pry into Ryuu's secrets, which is what kept that "something" from doing anything more than rejecting his gaze.
Glancing at the Dragon staring at him without any particular expression showing and Hestia's mess of a face while she held Ryuu's hand, he sighed as he felt like an incompetent God for not being able to help her friend...
As the group discussed Ryuu's condition, they were all suddenly silenced as his eyelashes flickered, causing Hestia's eyes to brighten with hope.
As he regained consciousness, Ryuu stared at Hestia's tear-streaked face for a moment before gently brushing his hand against it. He couldn't help but notice the beauty of her swollen and red eyes as they closed in response to his touch. Despite the tears that had stained her face, he found her to be incredibly beautiful at that moment.
"You are a mess. Calm yourself, I am alright." he said softly, his voice full of warmth and affection.
His face held the biggest smile he had ever shown, but Hestia couldn't bring herself to care about his words as she hugged him tightly, her body trembling as tears continued to flow down her face. She had been terrified of losing him, and the thought of it had broken her heart. Despite his assurances that he was alright, she couldn't help but cling to him, afraid that he would disappear if she let go.
"...You should rest, Hestia. You didn't sleep at all for the past day."
Miach's voice erupted as, although he didn't want to interrupt the moment, he was still worried about her condition...
Recognizing an unfamiliar voice, Ryuu stared at the man with dark blue hair and eyes with a gaze devoid of emotions.
"...I will be sure to thank you for your help. Please, leave us for a while now."
He had many things to share with them about this event, as he spent the first few moments after waking up processing the new memories that flooded his mind. These memories provided an explanation for the strange occurrences that had been happening.
"You have no reason to thank me, Ryuu. I will take my leave now since you seem alright. Though, take these potions; they may help you in times of need."
Ryuu couldn't help but feel grateful to the God known as Miach as he left a potion close to the bed where he and Hestia were. Despite not knowing who he was, Ryuu could tell that Hestia trusted him, and that was enough for him to put a bit of trust in him as well.
Ryuu turned to Luna and offered her a small smile, letting her know using telepathy that he was okay. He then proceeded to explain a few things to her...
"That was part of an inheritance?"
The little Dragon asked with wonder and shock written all over her face. From what she understood, this was supposed to be a completely different world compared to the one where Ryuu used to live, yet the supreme inheritance he received seemed to defy all boundaries.
As long as a Dragon with a pure enough bloodline had the potential to become a [Dragon God] in the future, this wisp of Celestial Fire would find its owner across space and time. But according to Ryuu, such a situation had never ensued before in the history of the Dragon race.
The potential required to attract the Celestial Fire was something even Ryuu did not possess. He couldn't even begin to imagine how much longer it would take for another Dragon with a less pure bloodline to reach that potential.
Hundreds upon hundreds of years would have been needed for Ryuu to reach this point normally, and the thought of someone else taking even longer was unimaginable…
'It seems the [Magic] stat is truly connected to my physique...'
The event that manifested when he stepped into this world held many more mysteries than a simple being at his previous stage could discern.
His potential was not merely strengthened. It was completely changed as the slow growth of the [Magic] stat was because his body was greedily absorbing it to continuously strengthen its potential until he reached the limit of what he could hold at his current stage.
But even that limit would be broken thanks to Ryuu's [Endurance] and [Strength] stats, which allowed his body to withstand even more strain and pressure. The more his body could withstand, the more his potential would grow, propelling him closer to the legendary [Dragon God] stage.
It was a process that was nothing short of miraculous and one that filled Ryuu with wonder and excitement as he looked towards the future with a predatory gaze. If he managed to achieve his goal of growing to the [Dragon God] stage, he could possibly peer at the secrets behind the [Barrier], bypassing it and have the luxury of annihilating every enemy in his path before returning to his family. This was what he dubbed as...[The Expected Epilogue!]
Forget normal Gods; even fighting against all the Gods in this world together would not be an issue as that stage was truly a legendary one. So far, only one person in an entire race has once reached it.
It was also thanks to this broken situation that Ryuu triggered an impossible event, as he received a wisp of something that should have been beyond his reach at this moment in time.
"...Master truly is something else."
Luna heard him explaining all this with a shocked expression as the moment one of his hands stopped hugging Hestia, and a fierce blue wisp erupted from his palm, its aura so overwhelming that even Luna, a fellow Dragon, was unable to withstand its might. She collapsed to the ground, her body covered in sweat as primal fear enveloped her. Despite her efforts to resist, she couldn't shake the feeling of terror towards the one who had saved her from a terrible fate and given her a home and a family, though that didn't mean she wouldn't keep fighting it.
Seeing her struggles, Ryuu nodded at the thought of using such a method to train her, though that was impossible to do at this moment in time. Even Ryuu himself was wary of the fire, knowing it possessed a power that could destroy everything in its path. Despite this, he had managed to gain control over it as he 'won'.
It was important to note that using it consumed extreme amounts of [Magic] as his reserves were almost depleted even if he manifested it to the outside world for a mere instant.
'The Dragon God truly was mad. Who would like to attempt killing their own descendant?'
It was already impossible for any Dragon to possibly trigger this as the requirements were absurd, but even if one managed to do so, they would also be tested and probably killed by the fire...
As Ryuu and Luna's conversation ended, he gently cupped Hestia's face that was buried in his chest between his hands, his forehead lightly pressing against hers. "Foolish Hestia" he said, his voice barely a whisper, "I told you, I am alright. These tears and snot do not suit your beautiful face."
"You can sleep here."
He tried to speak as gently as he could, but the sight of Hestia's horrible mess left him shaken. He knew she cared deeply about him, and seeing her in such a state tore at his heartstrings…
Despite her initial reluctance to leave Ryuu alone, Hestia eventually succumbed to her exhaustion and fell into a peaceful slumber, reassured by his presence and words of comfort. Ryuu watched over her as she slept, his heart filled with gratitude and affection for the woman who had stood by his side through all the trials and tribulations they had faced together. He couldn't wait to spend many more years by her side, building their little family and making memories that would last a lifetime…
As Ryuu leaned over and pressed his lips to Hestia's cheek, he couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with different emotions. Despite the chaos and turmoil of the past few days, he knew deep down that he had made the right choice in choosing the Hestia Familia. Her love and care for him were evident in every tear she shed. Thus, he would do everything he could to ensure she was happy and safe.
He gently brushed a strand of hair away from her face to imprint this moment properly in his mind before standing up, ready to go and thank Miach for his help as the latter left a note indicating where his shop was…
