Damon noticed that she kept zoning out. Even while they were working, she occasionally had a look that seemed she was far away.
Her body was present, but her mind was elsewhere. Her hands might be moving, but it was more methodological and automatic.
"Is there something wrong?" Finally, he noticed her staring in the distance again.
She was not sleeping as he saw her eyes were wide open. But he could see that she was not herself. She did not even notice that they were home.
Something on her mind was bothering her, and he wanted her to share it with him. As her husband, he believed it was his right to know so he could help her.
"What?" She appeared to be surprised by his question. It was like she did not even hear him. She quickly shook her head before eventually looking at him.
But before she said anything, she blinked twice like she was trying to eradicate the cobwebs in her head away.
