"I tripped," Regina replied curtly, keeping her gaze forward.
"I know, but how?" Derek asked, casting a sly look at Regina.
Derek knew that Regina was hiding something, and there was more to this fall. So he made an effort to find out more.
"Why have you been traveling by bus?" he inquired, making the situation awkward between them.
Regina despised Derek's attempts to dominate her. 'Why can he not just take her home?' she sneered, unable to contain her annoyance.
"Could you just take me home already? Furthermore, you should not worry about my fall." She turned away from him, refusing to pay any attention.
Derek, on the other hand, sighed with disappointment as they approached her house.
Regina turned to leave, but Derek interrupted her. "Be careful," he advised.
Even though Derek had decided to move on from her, he did not want to see her suffer.
Regina said nothing and stepped outside, slowly making her way inside the house.
