Chapter Four: Physical Techniques Ninja (Part 1)

In the training field, Kurenai finally gave up trying to understand what Kenji was saying. "What you said might be true, or you are trying to confuse me, but it doesn't matter. Since you want to witness my genjutsu, as you wish, I will defeat you with my strongest genjutsu."

Kurenai Yūhi no longer used shuriken in her hands, nor did she attempt to use taijutsu or shurikenjutsu. She knew she had no advantage in these two areas against her current opponent, so she turned to using her best genjutsu that she had.

Kurenai hands quickly formed seals:

"Demonic Illusion"

This is a B-ranked genjutsu, and currently the most advanced genjutsu she had mastered. Her body disappeared from the original spot as she vaporizes in to thin air, and then a large tree began to grow silently behind Kenji. The tree branches began to bind Kenji's hands and feet. At this point, Kurenai would emerge from the tree, ready to deliver a "fatal blow" to him.

A B-ranked genjutsu is something that ninja school students absolutely cannot handle. Even chunin-level teachers might not be able to withstand it perfectly executed.

"Not good."

Teacher Aizawa shouted loudly, but it was almost too late to stop Kurenai.

Demonic Illusion is definitely a powerful genjutsu, but the premise of its effectiveness is that the enemy gets caught. When Kurenai cautiously approached Kenji and found he didn't react, she believed her genjutsu had worked. Just as a victorious smile was about to appear on her face, Kenji suddenly moved.

The genjutsu didn't work as Kurenai had expected.

At this moment, his head felt like a computer monitor hit by a hammer, occasionally flashing a bright blue arc. It was with this defense that he withstood the B-ranked genjutsu.

His outstretched right hand gripped Kurenai's wrist holding the kunai, and then he clenched his five fingers.

Kurenai's wrist was caught as if in a pair of iron pliers. Under the piercing pain, her kunai clattered to the ground.

Then, Kenji raised his left hand and lightly tapped Kurenai's neck from behind like a knife.

She was knocked unconscious.

"The battle is over. Winner: Kenji Nakamura."

Teacher Aizawa announced loudly. To be honest, when Kurenai used the B-ranked genjutsu, he thought Kenji would lose, but he definitely didn't expect that he wouldn't even be affected by the genjutsu.

Even as a chunin-level teacher, he still couldn't figure out how Kenji had defended against Kurenai's genjutsu. After all, even he, as a chunin, couldn't necessarily withstand a B-ranked genjutsu under unexpected circumstances.

Unconscious Kurenai leaned weakly against Kenji. After Teacher Aizawa announced the end of the battle, two medical ninjas quickly arrived by Kenji's side and then took Kurenai away.

His first victory was not that hard, but Kenji was still happy. If he could defend against that kind of technique, he could naturally defend against ordinary genjutsu as well.

After Kurenai was taken away, he also left the training field. To be honest, every time he saw Kurenai's red eyes, he didn't think of the Uchiha's Sharingan, but of forever cool Kakarot.

Following the medical team, Kenji left the training field. The students' discussions hadn't stopped yet. They didn't expect that Kenji could defeat the top student Kurenai Yūhi so easily, with only a few punches and a couple of kicks.

After Kenji returned to the sidelines, the next match had already begun.

Uchiha Obito against Might Guy. The highlight of this battle was that there was no highlight. Without surprise, Uchiha Obito wouldn't even last three seconds. He was quickly defeated.

After the first round of matches, except for Uchiha Obito who unexpectedly lost, Kenji Nakamura, Might Guy, and Rin Nohara all successfully made it into the top fifteen.

Unlike Obito Uchiha, Might Guy was indeed second to last in the class, but that's because he rarely scored well in subjects other than taijutsu. However, when it came to taijutsu and actual combat, he undoubtedly belonged to the top group in terms of strength.

"Now, the second round begins. I announce the match lineup."

"First, in the first group, Might Guy against Kenji Nakamura."

"Great, Kenji Nakamura, let's settle this."

Upon hearing his name and before even realizing who his opponent was, Might Guy had already rushed to the center of the training field.

But as soon as he heard his opponent's name, he immediately started boasting as well.

Kenji also followed suit and entered the arena because if he didn't act fast enough, Guy would keep on boasting.

However, Kenji was not really looking forward to this battle. While Guy's training was quite intense, due to his age, his taijutsu skills were still far from mature. At this point, he couldn't possibly use the Eight Gates, and he couldn't even use the Lotus yet.

"The battle begins."

"Konoha Great Whirlwind."

After the chunin teacher announced the start of the battle, Guy launched a fierce attack on Kenji. He leaped high and aimed a roundhouse kick at Kenji's head.

Without speed and power advantages, such a leaping attack was clearly ill-timed. Before Guy could hit Kenji, Kenji's hand had already grabbed Guy's ankle.

Then, Kenji's right leg withdrew, and with a spin, he used Guy's own momentum to toss him away.

"Damn it, again!"

As if he didn't feel any pain from being thrown to the ground, Guy immediately charged at Kenji once more.

Kenji extended his palm to block Guy's incoming fist, then he kicked at Guy's shin with his right foot, sending him tumbling out again.

Then came the third charge from Guy, followed by another throw-out.

And then the fourth time, the fifth time, the sixth time...

Although Guy appeared comical, it was hard to dislike someone who worked so hard and never gave up. So, Kenji decided to use his true strength to defeat him.

"Guy, be careful. I'm going all out."

"That's just what I wanted!" Guy's fighting spirit soared.

Kenji slowly closed his eyes, then suddenly opened them wide. There were no hand seals, but lightning chakra flowed through his chakra network. Blue arcs sparking on his body.

As Guy charged at him again, Kenji didn't throw him out this time. Instead, he leaned his head to the side to dodge Guy's punch. Then, Kenji punched Guy's chin, and before Guy could react, he raised his right knee forcefully.

Guy's body arched up; Kenji's sudden force kicked him about a meter high.

But that wasn't the end. In Guy's fraction of a second of mid-air time, Kenji swiftly crouched, then jumped, gathering power in his right foot. He struck Guy's abdomen again, sending Guy's airborne body even higher.

At this point, both of them were in the air, but Guy was completely defenseless against the two powerful blows.

Kenji spun rapidly in the air and, with an unpowered left foot, kicked once more.

Guy was struck for the third time.

As Kenji used the counterforce of his attacks to land quickly, Guy was propelled more than six meters into the air.

With a large amount of chakra in Kenji's feet, using his lower limbs to their limit, Kenji's body rapidly reached a position even higher than Guy's.

From above, Kenji's right leg viciously struck Guy's head.

"Boom."

Guy slammed into the ground like a falling meteor.

When the dust settled, a shallow crater filled with cracks appeared on the training field. In the center of the crater lay Guy, unconscious.

There was complete silence in the training field.

At this moment, Kurenai Yūhi, who had already regained consciousness, just witness what happen to Guy. She felt relieved that she hadn't challenged Kenji to a taijutsu battle.
