Chapter 17: Welcome to C District

- Hey Eru, do you have any ambition?

- Hm, ofcourse, don't you have something you always wanted to have?

Opening his eyes, Eru was met with an unfamiliar ceiling

It was a wooden brown ceiling, it didn't seem fancy or old but more of an average

Sitting up slowly, he checked the surroundings and found that he was in a small and plain room

[Caius: Host your are finally awake!]

Hearing and seeing the familiar system, Eru asked "Where am i?"

[Caius: You completed the game, you are currently in your room that was designated here in C district]

Eru nodded his head as he said "I see"

He then thought 'But, why am I in C District?'

'I'm only new and so even if I completed a level - C game, my rank should still be lower than it'

He then said "Open profile"

'That's odd, not only did I not participate much in the events also it was only a c rank, what's more, I was not meant to be here in the beginning, so I should've been either E or D class and not C'

Eru looked up and said "Is it you?"

No one else was there other than himself and so it was strange to see him talking alone

But as if expecting it, a blue screen appeared above where he was staring at

[Constellation 'Abyssal God' is smirking at player 'Eru Frost']

Eru stared at the screen for some time before averting it

[Constellation 'Abyssal God' is sneering coldly at player 'Eru Frost']

Eru ofcourse knew what the constellation Abyssal God wants, he wouldn't make him a C - rank for free

'He wants to sign a contract with me and become my constellation'

The constellation Abyssal God is known as one of the high ranks of constellations and everyone is dying to have him as their constellation

The gift that Abyssal God posses is the domineering aura which could make not just the players, but even other constellations tremble before him

It would be a nice trade, but...

'It's too early, I don't need a constellation for now'

Eru then heard the system promt

- Ding!

- The next Game will start in seven days, enjoy the rest dear players

Eru looked at it and nodded, after some thinking, he knew the reason why his reward is higher than the supposed amount

Actually, it would've been higher if not for the debt from the system he bought

First is the reward of the game plus the reward for killing the imposter which was not a given task but a bonus and lastly because the constellation Abyssal God has given him some

But then that would minus of the amount of coins he took from the system which now result to have only 240 coins.

Knock Knock

Suddenly, there was a knock from the door

Just as Eru was about to ponder on who the person could be, he heard the latter spoke "Eyo, are you in there big brother Eru?"

Hearing the familiar voice, Eru sat up and was about to walk forward when he stopped on his tracks

He thought 'Wait, why did he call me by my name?'

'Not just my name, but also "Big brother", only the original Samur would say that since we've been with each other for a very very long time'

Knock Knock

"Hello?" Samur continued to knock

Eru narrowed his eyes slightly before he thought 'It might be because he still has the same personality as the original, afterall, he is a replica'

He then walked forward and opened the door.

Standing behind the door, Samur could was looking around with wandering eyes

After seeing Eru, he smiled as he said "Good morning, I can't believe we are just neighbours~"

Eru: "..." Huh? Neighbours?

Samur probably predicted that he would question this, afterall, he can't notice on what Eru is expressing so he could only guess and explained "That's my room" as he pointed the next door to Eru

Eru followed his finger, after some moment of silence, he turned back and entered the room

Samur casually followed back behind and closed the door

Eru looked out of the window and closed the curtains, after so, he opened his mouth and asked "Who survived the game?"

Samur answered nonchalantly "Austin and Nathan"

"Hm" Eru hummed nonchalantly aswell, as if expecting it

Samur stared at him before he asked "Not surprised?"

"No."

"Heh, I should've expected that, but, can I ask you a question?"

"What is it?"

"How come, you aren't surprised that Miya didn't survived?"

"It's simple" Eru said as he sat down on the bed and opened his phone, he then added "Because, Cozbi wether clone or not, he would surely target the weakest"

Samur: "But both Austin and Nathan are there, they could protect her while she is unconscious"

Eru looked at Samur as he said "You already know that they can't do it, they are too weak"

"Even if they try to it will all be in vain, in the end, she was just a nuisance and a bait to make it easier for them to kill the clone from the back whilst it kills her"

"Hm, hehe touche" Samur just giggled at these words as if it meant nothing and casually pulled out the ever-lasting apple from his space jacket pocket

"Then, are they also in the same district as us?" Samur asked but then paused as he blinked several times before saying "Ah, you're gonna explain it to me now right?"

Eru nodded and said "They aren't"

He thought 'In the novel only Samur was placed C - Rank whilst Austin is only D - Rank'

'As for Nathan, he didn't survive in the original plot, it was supposed to be only Samur and Austin but probably changed because of my interference'

'So if I'm not mistaken, he would be in the same district as Austin'

"Then Samur, did your skill option already appear?"

Crunch

Samur took a bite from the apple as he nodded his head and said "There were three options that was written in the screen, it was either [String] [Poison] or [Predator]"

"Not gonna lie, the names sounded very lame I mean, can't they think of a better name?"

Eru: "The skills are afterall related to you in the real world, there are description about the skill right? Then you go ahead and decide for yourself"

Eru then started to scroll and focus on his phone.

Samur: "..."

Samur felt like he wanted to choke on his apple

Heaving a sigh, he opened the screen and saw it appear once again

[Skills: [String] [Poison] [Predator]]

Pressing the [String] option, it showed;

Description: Allows the user's will to control strings.

Story: There was once a child named ??? Who grew up stitching itself over and over again whenever wounded as it's parents doesn't want to treat the wounds of the child

Eventually, after killing it's parents the child stitched their lips and eyes into an upturned smile.

After reading the description, Samur didn't have any reaction but the moment he read the story, his eating was slowed down as his eyes also turned slightly dull as he stared coldy at the screen

Turning his gaze to Eru he narrowed it and thought 'Is this what you meant when you said it is related to us in the real world?'

Samur furrowed his eyebrows before moving on to the next skill

Description: The blood of the user will be turned into deadly poison that could kill players with lower level than the user in 2 minutes whilst 10 minutes for higher levels.

Story: A child named ??? Killed both of it's parents with poison it created and mixed it with it's own blood as disguise

The child cursed it's own blood as it knew that it's parents blood flows through it.

Samur didn't react or said anything and instead just moved on to another while his eyes were turning more dull than ever

Level: B

Description: Allows the user's will to shift into a beast form and gain inhuman strength and senses.

Story: There was a child wandering around a forest after it ran away from home and unexpectedly met a dangerous wolf

The wolf who was twice the size of the child stared at it like a prey in the grasp of it's claws

The child who was ready to die suddenly changed it's mind after seeing it's disgusting stare at it and instead fought back, eventually, killing it.

Having read all the descriptions of the skills along with the story of a 'person' that Samur knows very well, he took a moment of silence

His head was lowered as his bangs were covering his eyes that made it hard to read his emotions

Eru didn't bother to look at him or to comfort him as he busily looked at his phone while pondering about something.

After some time later, Samur heaved a heavy sigh before opening his mouth and said "Alright, I'll choose this skill"

He then pressed the skill and a screen showed up saying [Would you like to obtain this skill permanently?]

[Yes/No]

Samur pressed the 'Yes' button and he heard the sound ring in his head

- Ding!

- Congratulations you have obtained a skill and is officially a player of the game of the [Abyss]

- Ding!

[New Player 'Samur Eckart' has entered the game]

Eru looked up at the screen that appeared above momentarily before focusing his gaze back to the phone

Samur suddenly felt a strong sensation flow through his entire body, from his blood, veins, and joints

It was only for a short moment but Samur felt as if his entire being changed because of it

He thought 'Woah...is this for real? Awesome! Then, now I have a skill? How does it work, hmmm, maybe I should give it a try'

Lifting up his hand, he pointed it towards a piece of paper on the desk and was about to target it when-

"Don't try it here, you'll destroy my house, you can do it when we are in the game"

Eru interrupted without taking his eyes off the phone.

"Huh? Isn't it best to practice now before going in the game? What if I 'accidentally' kill a teammate while trying to kill an enemy?"

Samur pouted his cheeks and looked at Eru innocently

Eru: "Then they're dead."

Samur: "..." Why can't I refute to his words at all?

Samur then thought of something and asked "Aren't you even gonna ask what skill I chose?"

Eru: "I don't care"

Samur felt his lips twitching, but he then thought 'Could it be he really has no interest? Or...does he already know what I chose?'

'Ah, no, I can't keep thinking that he knows everything like some omniscient or omnipotent'

'But maybe...ah, you know what, I'll just forget it'

Suddenly, there was another voice that rang in Samur's head

- Ding!

- Dear player please choose your personal system that would be guiding you from now on

Hearing this, Samur thought 'Ahh...if I remember, I think big brother Eru mentioned about this once'

A yellow screen then appeared before Samur

"Oh?" Samur looked at it with an amused expression as he stroked his chin

He then asked "Is there any basis on which would be a good system?"

Eru: "No, there isn't"

"Hey now that's not fair" Samur grumbled as he crossed his arms while looking at the options

He then mumbled "I'll just go with my favorite numbers"

"Ahah! Let's go with this system"

He exclaimed as he pressed the system, another screen then replaced it as it said [Would you like to choose this system?]

[Yes/No]

Without any hesitation he pressed the 'Yes' button

- Ding!

- System binding with host is now starting

[Binding:....98%.....]

- Ding!

- Binding complete!

- Congratulations for the system and host on becoming partners!

Samur was astonished by the long processing of this and couldn't help but have a wide grin on his face

A blue screen then appeared and said [System44: Hello Host, I will be your personal system from now on!]

"Hello System44, is that your name?"

[System44: Yes, but you can name if you want, just don't fucking name me a pathetic one like blacky or sissy or something]

Samur: "..."

Samur blinked several times at those crude words, he never expected that the system would say such words

"Pfft!" He couldn't help but laugh before saying "Oh? Is that so, then since you recommended it why don't I give you the name sissy?"

[System44: What?!] If it had a face then it would be frowning right now with fave flushed red in anger and veins popping out of it's forehead

Samur had a smirk on his face as he shrugged and said "What do you mean by 'what?' Didn't you said that so that I would name it to you?"

[System44: Ofcourse not!]

System44 couldn't believe this host it just had, how can there be such a human?!

Eru then stood up and walked towards the door as he hid the phone in his coat's pocket

Samur looked over to him as he asked "Where are you going?"

"Getting coins" Eru answered nonchalant buy Samur's curiosity arose when he heard about the coins

He thought 'Where could he possibly get coins?'

'Is there a place here that trades one?'

Samur followed Eru as they went out the room

The place they were staying in was a small inn and they were in the last floor which is only a two story building

Samur noticed that the place seemed more quiet than the ordinary and couldn't help but ask "Are there no one else here but us?"

Eru: "No."

"No? Then, where-" Samur immediately stopped his sentence the moment they got out of the Inn

The scene that greeted them was-

Bang!

"You bastard!"

"Give me back my coins you cheating scum!"

"Hey you greedy fuck where did you hide my coins?!"

"Traitor!"

Samur: "...Woow...what a sight to see"

Eru: "..." I already expected this but, this is really chaotic, maybe if I was put in the D district or lower then I might've gone to the next game already without any hesitation

The district as expected was not very luxurious, much or less good

The streets were dim and dirty aswell as the inn's everywhere was shabby and old

People outside looked like thugs as they foughted with each other and cussing whilst holding each other's collar and wrist

"Oh, newbie?" A middle age person spoke as he looked over at Samur

He then slowly approached him, the man was very tall compared to Samur as his body was covered in muscles and huge thick veins

"Oy, why don't you give me all of your coins and I will not hurt you, what do you say?" The man sneered coldly as he looked down at Samur

Samur still has his head and sight straight, not looking down or up at the man

Because of this, the man thought that he was too scared to face him and mockingly said "Heh how come a kid like you even survive the first game? No wait, you probability hugged someone's thigh didn't you? Hahaha" The man let out a loud laugh and everyone's attention turned to them

After some moments later, Samur heaved a sigh as he muttered "Typical cliche moments"

The man's laughing stopped and was replaced with a frown, he asked "Huh, what did you just say?"

Whoosh

There was suddenly a cold gust of wind that past them which made shivers run down the man's spine

"Ya know, those who looks down on me for being a kid, then when I destroy those pride and ambitions of them as they fall to despair- hehe"

Samur finally looked up at the man as his red scarlet eyes gleamed dangerously and added "Makes me pleasantly happy very much that my heart can't take the joy anymore hahaha"

Not only were the words of Samur creepy and sadist but even his voice is

"W-What's wrong with this kid-!" The man felt agitated that he was frightened by a kid and had the urge to beat him up

"I'll teach you a lesson, you impudent-!" The mam shouted as he raised and aimed his fist at Samur only to be caught!

"W-What...?!" The man stuttered as his wrist was grabbed by Samur

Samur only smiled at him with a mischievous look before turning his head to the side and was replaced with an innocent smile

"Can I?"

Not only the man but everyone else was surprised to see him talking with a facade innocent face

They followed where he was looking and talking to only to see-

"Hm, I don't care, do you what you want"

Eru answered calmly as he turned his head to the side and walked away

"Eh?!" Samur's smile instantly disappeared and was shocked as he blinked several times

"Ah...he is seriously gonna leave me?!" Samur couldn't help but exclaim

"What the hell...^#%" Samur mumbled something underneath his nose

"Hoy! Let go of me!" The man shouted while blue veins popped out of his forehead, he raised his other fist as to aim at Samur's face!

"Tsk, what a jerk he killed the mood" Samur muttered as he clicked his tounge and turned to face the man

His eyes turned dangerous as he glared at the man

Crack!

"Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!"

The man screamed in pain as his bone shattered

Whoosh!

Puk!

Crack!

"Ahh..." Everyone that was watching couldn't help bit stiffen their bodies as they stared at the scene with horror

It only took seconds before Samur completely broke the bones of the huge man

The man was paralysed to the ground as his eyes were shaking and mixed saliva and blood dripping from his mouth

Samur looked down at him coldy, he was smiling but that smile didn't reached his eyes as he said "You really are annoying"

He then turned to the side and followed Eru as he ran after him, leaving everyone on the scene to be dumbfounded

"Did- did that kid just..."

"I can't believe it..."

Everyone mumbled to each other, they were not the only ones that is surprised but even Samur's new system is

System44 thought 'How, what kind of strength does this kid have...wait, he doesn't even have a skill about strength, what's more, he's only a newbie!'

'Just what was he in the real world to have this kind of terrifying strength?!'

While everyone was shocked, Samur finally caught up to Eru but still grumbling

He thought 'Darn it, I wanted to test out my skill on that man but big brother just left me!'

He glared at Eru but the latter didn't even care about it and stopped at a certain place

Samur looked at where Eru was staring and thought 'I take it back, I'm really happy that I went with him'

Eru then walked towards the place, opening the door he said to Samur "Well then, how about it?"

Samur looked at Eru's back before he smirked as he said "Hah! I'm in!"

"Let's start-"
