What if
"How bad is your conditions?" Asked Hakimi.
"I don't know." Answer Udin.
"You still remember I told you about that voice I heard?" Asked Udin.
"Yes!" Reply Hakimi.
"After that day I suspected I'm started to sleep walking!" Udin tell Hakimi.
"Ya Allah! That's bad." Hakimi shocked when he hear that.
"I think it's better if we analysed it first." Suggest Hakimi to Udin.
"What if it's just a dream?"
"What if it's real?"
"What if it's your trauma?"
"What if it's an interference from paranormal being?"
Hakimi started his deduction using what if.
"I don't like the last one."
Udin tell Hakimi.
"We shouldn't skip that theory you see."
"Why Kimi?" "Aren't your theory run a little wild there?"
"It have a probability Udin."
Hakimi take a small book note and started to write a few thing in it. They are in Hakimi bedroom that afternoon.
Udin sit on his bed while Hakimi at his study desk chair.
"The date please if you can remember it correctly."
"When I heard the voice or sleep walking?" Udin asked?
"Both! But follow the order."
"We need to see what happened first."
While Udin think about all those incidents, he started to feel uneasy. He feel like someone didn't want he to tell Hakimi about it.
"I heard the voice one week after our outing at the waterfall."
"You remember me telling you at school about it right?" Asked Udin.
"Yes! Then it should be 13 April."
Hakimi look down on his notes and started to write something again.
Without looking at Udin, Hakimi keep asking him a lot of questions.
"So your first sleep walking?"
Hakimi look up from his notes and he saw Udin look like he is in pain or discomfort. He keep looking at Udin waiting for the answer. Now Udin struggling to speak. His face turn to red.
"Are you okay bro?" Asked Hakimi concerned.
"Ermm!" "Yeah I guess!" Udin just let it pass and continue with his story.
"I really confused with either it's a dream or reality." "I feel it's like real." " I'm concerned over this because if it's real why I can't remember the part of going back home."
"Why do you think you are sleep walking?"
"I feel really tired like I just ran or play football." "The biggest clue was both of my feet full of cuts and muds." "It's not only that, my cloth also torn from the branches or plants."
"What make me doubt about it was when I opened my eyes, I'm on my bed."
"Do you know where did you go?"
"To the mountain."
"I remember walking out of the house and the journey into that village."
Hakimi busy jotting the notes and he didn't look at Udin.
"Why can't you just leave him alone?" "He belongs to me and will always be mine!"
That the last words he heard from Udin.
What happened after that was very fast.
Hakimi didn't know when did Udin move. Suddenly Udin left hand already at his throat squeezing it hard. Hakimi panicked and scared. He tried to push Udin but failed. Udin really strong. He looks angry and has an intention to kill.
In that nicked of time Hakimi think what he should do. He's been push to the desk. While holding back, using his right hand he try to catch anything that he can use to free himself.
"Shit! My study desk to neat."
Hakimi didn't give up.
He move his hand further to the corner and his hand touched a book. It's a dictionary. Using all the energy that he have, he swing the thick dictionary as hard as he could to Udin head. In his heart Hakimi keep praying.
"Let it success, please ya Allah!"
Udin grip loosen from his throat and Udin fell to the floor unconscious. Never before Hakimi feel so relief in his life like this moment.
He keep touching his neck that feel so painful from Udin grip just now.
"Oh no! Udin fainted!
Hakimi quickly pull Udin to bed. He take water from the bathroom and sprinkled it on Udin face.
"Please wake up Udin!" Hakimi worried if Udin badly injured.
After a few minutes Udin regained his consciousness.
"Alhamdulillah!" Hakimi keep repeating that zikir to show how relief he feel right now.
"What happened?" Udin asked Hakimi. Udin sit and touched his head.
"Are you okay?"
"Ouch! My head!" Udin still feel disoriented from the hit.
"Sorry I hit your head with this." Hakimi show Udin the dictionary. He still feel guilty from it.
"Don't you remember anything?"
Udin only shaking his head.
"What's wrong with your neck?" Udin shocked to see the bruise on Hakimi's neck.
"Don't say I did it?
"Yes it was you." Answer Hakimi.
"Before you choked me you say this."
"Why can't you leave him alone?
"He belongs to me and always be mine!"
"I said all those words?" Asked Udin disbelief.
"Yes! You said all those words." "As if you are possessed."
Hakimi look at Udin and reluctantly he tell him.
"After thinking about it I believe you are possessed by something."
He feel goosebumps as he said that.
"Just now I feel you're stronger than you are normally."
There's a horror look on Udin face when he hear that.
Udin keep wiping his face with his hands. He's trying to absorb all that's happened to him.
He can't even settle the dreams, and now he's even tried to murder his best friend. He feel like he's loosing his mind. How to explains to the adult. Could they believe him.
Hakimi sit next to Udin and hold his shoulder.
"You can over come this." "We will be in this together."
Udin tried to hold his tears and he hugged Hakimi.
"I'm sorry I try to hurt you."
"It's okay it's not your fault." Hakimi tried to calm his best friend.
During tea time they didn't talk much. Puan Lily Hakimi's mother suspected they are quarreling.
"Now tell me why are you fighting?"
"We're not!" Both of them speak at the same time.
"Don't expect me to believe that young man!" "I'm not blind!" "With all those bruises."
"Now explain yourself if not I'm telling your father Hakimi." "And you Udin! Your grandparents." Puan Lily need to know the reason of the fighting. She is a very caring parent. Those boys look at each other.
Udin slowly nodding his head to Hakimi giving him permission to tell his mother.
"Udin is possessed by something." Finally Hakimi letting it out loud. Udin sighed softly after hearing that.
"What?" Puan Lily thought she misheard it.
"Udin is possessed!" Repeat Hakimi.
