GUESTS AT THE MANSION PART 2

Everyone was quiet after hearing what Davin said.Bethany glared at me then bolted out of the room. Davin looked down at me on the floor, for a minute I thought he was going to scold me depending on the hard stare he gave me but then he just went back to his seat.

I helped myself up then went back to were I was standing before. We stood there till they all finished eating. It was time to start removing the dishes from the table and forgot about my wrist. I rifted one plate to place on top of another but the plate fell and broke. I realised that it was a little dislocated.

"Go tend to your wrist first. I'll send someone to call you if you are needed." Said Matilda after noticing my little reaction.

I got out of the room and went to find something to tie my wrist with. I couldn't find anything in the kitchen that could help lessen the pain so I just went to my given room and went through the little clothes I had and tore a piece from one of the dresses. I had to put the dislocated bone back to its place but I was scared of the pain. I knew pretty damn well how it felt. This wasn't the first time I had a dislocated joint.

One time I fell from a tree and dislocated my knee joint. Grace had to pull my leg to put it back and man it hurt like hell. I stayed away from trees for three week, too scared of falling.

I sat on my small rough bed and readied myself for the pain that would come after pulling my wrist. I reached for my right wrist with my left hand and held it. After taking a deep breath I tried pulled it abruptly and herd a cracking sound come from my wrist. I bit my lower lip and tied the piece of cloth around my wrist to keep then bones in place.

That crazy lady stepped on my foot and made me pour the drink on her. Why would anybody do that? And she put the blame on me then almost breaks my wrist. She is one crazy....bitch. I heard a knock on my door.

"Hey Lilly. How's your wrist doing." Rose peeked her head in. "Matilda sent me to get you. She said something about the lord summons you, if I heard right that is."

"Oh I'm coming let me just put on my shoes."

Rose took me to Matilda who then took me to Davin's study room. It was a big room, as big as his bedroom or maybe a little bit bigger. He was sitting in his chair with a desk in front of him. He had a book in his hand and a glass half finished. it looked like the glass contained liquor.

"Sit down." I saw Matilda's eyes widen from the corner of my eyes. Was it because he asked me to sit down? I wonder. "How is your arm doing? Matilda told me its hurt." Hurt? No, I think almost broken is the right way to put it.

"Uhm..its alright." I just answered to get it over with so I could get out of there.Davin was a pain in the bottom. Seeing that he still had his eyes glued to the book he had, I thought he would let me go but I should have known better.

He raised his head and then said "Well in that case why don't you pick up the glass and bring it back to the kitchen. Oh and also refill it for me." Forgetting who I was talking to, I almost told him to do it himself but then I thought, I could just use my left hand. And why was he asking me to refill his drink in the kitchen when had a bottle in this room with him.

I reach for the glass with my left harm just to be stopped when I heard him say "If your arm is alright then why are you using your left hand. I'm pretty sure Beth held your right hand." You mean squeezed my right hand. I thought to myself.

"Oh no it was the left hand." I lied.

"Really? I would bet everything I have that it was your right hand...Put both your hands up." I started panicking because of the way those dark red eyes stared at me, it was like he could see right through my soul. It was so damn scary. Some times I understood why he was who he was.

"Will you put them up or shall I help you with it?" He said. His face expressionless. I lifted both my hands up slowly. if not for the little piece of cloth hanging around my wrist, I would have gotten away with it.

"So tell me is that supposed to be for decoration or what?" He raised one of his brows making the situation a little less tense.

"W..well I just put it there so I can put it away later." Ok I have got to admit, that was such a damn answer. But it seemed smart at the moment.

"Okay. Give me your right hand." I looked at him wide eyed, worried of what he was planing to do with my hand. His expression didn't change not even a bit. "Is your hand frozen or you need me to help you move it?" I moved my hand slowly toward him. Just as he was about to take it someone knocked at the door and in came the witch, Bethany. Though I had to thank her in silence for helping me get out of this mess.

"Hey Davin I was wondering if....." We locked eyes and the excitement on her face vanished. "What is this lowly creature doing here? And why is she she sitting comfortably on the chair?" My mind was like; Do I look comfortable to you witch?

"You may go. I'll call for you later." Later? Later? you mean I was supposed to come back for another session of this? I barely survived this one. Every time he asked one of those stupid silly questions, my tongue itched to just retort back.

I stood up from the chair and found Matilda waiting outside the door. It was now getting dark, the sun was setting and it was almost time for dinner. Matilda and I went back to the kitchen to help the others finish preparing the dinner. Though I wasn't of much use on the kitchen activities right now, I still helped with any little thing I could manage.

The table was set and the guests started arriving at the table. Davin came in last with Bethany following behind him like a little lost puppy.I wonder why there were so many guests? And most of them addressed Davin by his first name. Everyone settled in and started placing the dishes their hearts desired in there plates. Sounds of plates and forks crashing against each other filled the dining hall. Some ate in silence while some made little chit chats.

Every now and then Bethany's eyes would look my way and put up a disgusted face. I decided to just keep my eyes stuck to the ground to avoid locking eyes with the dumb witch.
