Her discovery of "Truth"

Jean Mary was depressed for days already because of Anne's death. She didn't attend school for a week. She was alone but Jan always reminded her that he will always be there for her. She was immersed in her thoughts when Jan interrupted her.

"Good morning Jean, breakfast is ready." Jan said.

But Jean had no appetite so she didn't respond.

Jan understood Jean Mary's feeling so he let her be for the moment.

Jean Mary was left in the room. She remembered the old woman who said that death is following her. She could not discern what it means. What bad things did she do in her past life to have such a bad karma.

She doesn't have any news what was happening in school too. Jan was absent for that week just like her. Now that Anne is gone, no one is going to inform her the happenings in school. Grand is out of reach too. All she has is Jan for now.

Thinking all about it, she remembered the group chat that Anne told her, it is where and her classmates communicate. She grabbed her phone, opened her messenger. She browsed the messages. She was flabbergasted when she read the messages that she dropped her phone.

"Shane Princeton is dead."

Why? How could that be? She asked herself. Why does every person that she's acquainted to is dead. She started crying. According to the groupchat, Shane was a victim of a hit-and-run accident. Just like Kaye. The only difference is that Shane was dead on the spot. Shane is dead for a week now. According to the group chat, she had the accident right after clubbing. Like Kaye, Shane also did something to her prior to their death. So she could not help but suspect that Jan was involved in this matter. She felt bad because she already decided to open her heart to Jan and give her all. She has to make sure that Jan did not do hideous things for her. She went to Jan and directly ask him.

"Jan." She called him.

"Hmm?" He responded.

"I have been bothered by the recent news and happenings right now." She said.

"And why are you bothered by it?" Jan was confused.

"To be honest, I have been suspecting you that you have something to do with Kaye and Shane's death." She blatantly told him.

Jan was appalled by her words. He could not believe that Jean would accuse him of such things.

"Is that how low you perceive my character?" His disappointment was shown on his face.

Jean felt awkward by what Jan had said. "I'm sorry." She said. "It's just... uhmmm... It's just..." Jean Mary could not found the rights words to say.

"Tell me why you thought such kind of things so I could explain to you my side." He urged Jean.

"It's just that Kaye and Shane have the same accident. And both of them tried to bully me before their demise. Also, Shane died after the party." Jean Mary explained.

"It might have been coincidences but it's not me. I didn't do all those things." He denied her allegations.

"Okay. For now, I will trust you." She said.

"For now? So you don't trust me at all?"

"It's not that, but..." She couldn't finish her words.

"I can't force you to believe me but I know what I am doing. I am not a criminal. I tell you and I hope you believe me."

"Fine. I'll go ahead." She went back to her room.

Night time.

It was raining hard and it was very dark outside. Jean Mary could not sleep because she was thinking about Jan. Her guts were telling her that Jan might be the culprit of all the incidents. So she went outside her room and directly went to Jan's room. Jan wasn't there, given this opportunity, she tried to search for any evidence that might prove his involvement to the killings. But she was more stupefied to see the favorite mirror of Anne on Jan's desk. She could not move, no voice came out from her but tears fell. Why? Why? Why? All she could think was why? Did Jan also killed Anne? Why? What did Anne ever do to Jan for him to kill her? When thunder roared, she went back to her senses. She was fast to return the mirror and sneak out from Jan's room.

"Maybe the rumors were right. The Reynolds family are murderers." She uttered while crying. She was heartbroken. She had given her all. She trusted him. She took a leap of faith. She believed in him. Maybe Jan is already plotting her death too. Jean Mary could not think right.

"Right. I will open the forbidden door and unravel their mysteries. Maybe it is where his dark secrets are hidden." Jean went straight ahead to the weird door where she got a cold vibe from. She was about to open it when Jan appeared. Jan suddenly opened the main door from outside. He was very wet because of the rain. But what more was scary is that Jan was carrying a gun and an axe. Jean Mary felt very scared by Jan's appearance. She shouted and ran after. Jan tried to stop her.

"Jean, stop running. Don't try to run away from me."

"Don't ever come near me. You! Psycho! You're a murderer! You're a criminal. You killed Anne, you killed them all, Shane and Kaye. It was all you." She shouted while she was trying any means for her not to be near with Jan.

"Jean, it's not what you think. I am not a criminal. Come here. It's all a misunderstanding." Jan tried to coaxed her.

"Liar! You cannot fool me anymore. I was wrong about you! The old woman was right. She was right." Jean Mary was shouting like crazy.

"Who's the old woman?" What are saying Jean? I cannot understand you." He asked her, while trying to get close to her.

But Jean Mary noticed it. "Don't come near me!" She warned. Jean Mary grabbed an antique vase (a million dollar vase) and threw it to Jan. She ran towards her room and locked it from the inside. Since their rooms are in the first floor, Jean Mary escaped through her window. She ran towards the gate, luckily the gate was open. She run and run because she saw Jan coming at her. She was determined to escape so she ran until she saw the main road. Fortunately, she saw a car, she stopped the car and the car did stop. And there, she saw Grand in the driver's seat.
