Chapter 20: Encounter with a new race

Miku after shaking off the horror of the previous encounter while exploring heads more northeast as she continues to explore the wilds of the forest, having to put down the occasional beast or rabbit along the way.

One encounter surprised Miku the most though as she was taking a break along her journey she stopped off in a slightly average-sized cave and as she had entered she made a surprising discovery inside the cave where two goblins.

But unlike the previous goblins she encountered, these goblins seemed rather muscular and were taller a held proper clubs. Taking advantage of the fact the goblins didn't expect her Miku quickly used her new powerful body to make short work of them.

Dispatching one of the goblins with her sharp tail while dodging the club from the other one, Miku then jumps up onto the ceiling and as the goblin thinks about leaving she crawls quickly along and leaps on it as it tries before clawing its head from its shoulder.

After cleaning up the scene so as not to dirty her temporary home she then delves deeper into the cave noticing that it is not very big after the main opening it branched off down two paths from one of the paths the normal agitated screeching of goblins could be heard down the other seemed to be silence.

Deciding to handle the path with the goblins first Miku makes a devious plan she crawls up the wall onto the ceiling once again and advances about halfway down the path she stops and makes a rather loud noise off in the distance she could hear the screeching die down slightly before continuing.

As she focuses on her surroundings she can hear footsteps slowly getting louder and before long two more of the rather burly goblins, one being slightly different as this was the first time Miku had seen a female Goblin.

Not much different from the male the female was rather muscular compared to the other goblins she met. The female unlike the male didn't have a club but a rusty sword and dented old-looking chainmail armor.

Miku blinks as this is the first time she has ever seen proof of humans existing in this weird world. As the two get right under her looking for the source of the loud noise Miku slowly and silently lowers her tail close to the male before wrapping it rapidly around its head covering its mouth and before it could screech with a quick twist Miku nearly popped the goblins head off.

As the female goblin keeps walking it eventually turns to see its comrade suddenly slump to the floor. Concerned the goblin quickly becomes more alert and puts its back against a wall holding its sword in front of it looking for whatever had killed its friend

Miku looks at the female in surprise this one was more intelligent compared to the rest of the race and as she looks at the female goblin trying to decide how to attack a window pops up.

Hobgoblin warrior: a warrior of the Hobgoblin race

Blinking Miku looks at the window in shock she had totally forgotten about that appraisal skill after its first lackluster performance and although It wasn't super helpful she did, however, find out that these were not goblins but hobgoblins.

After a few minutes of silence, the hobgoblin female drops her guard slightly and slowly starts making her way back toward the group she had come from making sure not to break eye contact with the direction of her friend's remains. Just then out of the corner of her eye the hobgoblin sees dust and pebbles fall from the ceiling.

Quickly reacting the hobgoblin looks up just in time to see Miku lunging at her bearing fangs and claws. Miku, as she goes for the kill notices that the Hobgoblin had seen her but in her overconfidence thought it was too late for it to do anything.

But then suddenly the goblin glows green for a few seconds before pulling off a matrix dodge perfectly causing Miku to fly over it and crash into the ground behind it. After landing, Miku turns slightly shocked it was able to dodge but as she does a sword swinging toward her is what greets her panicking Miku lifts her arms to defend herself.

Once again the hobgoblin glows this time red and suddenly the sword swings faster slamming into Miku's arms and cutting deep enough to draw a little blood which quickly starts to melt the blade slowly only warping it slightly as the goblin retrieves it and takes a stance before Screeching and calling for help.
