Chapter 82

2538 December 5th

It had been a year since Axel visited Installation Zero Four, and for the past year he has been working on reverse engineering the Forerunner technology. Working alongside him was Catherine, a team of researchers, and a group of engineers.

After much effort, they were able to recreate the technology of slipspace transrelocation. This involved using teleporters to instantly move a person or object from one location to another.

The teleporter would need a receiver or another teleporter in place to teleport something. For instance, if he wanted to teleport something from Installation Zero Four to Earth, he would need either a receiver which would only allow one-way teleportation or another teleporter to allow things to be sent back and forth.

And with this successful recreation of the technology, another project was created to try and use their replication of transrelocation technology to develop slipspace portals which would allow for large scale transportation of large-scale objects like ships and possibly space stations.

Next was the creation of Assembler Vats, which did not take that long as they had been utilizing nanotechnology since the 21st century. The Assembler Vats took three months to fully complete and understand, but once they were done this allowed smartmatter to be grown inside of them. Smartmatter was the material utilized in all Forerunner construction and now that the UNSC has access to this material they could utilize it in all their future constructions.

The first official test of the Assembler was conducted on June 6th, 2538, the Assembler was given instructions on creating the new Standard use Infantry armor that was just recently created. As the test concluded Axel was surprised at the speed of the Assembler. In 1 hour, it was able to create tens of thousands of Infantry armor with just one Assembler. This speed would completely change how future weapons and armor can be created since if they can be built in mass no matter how sophisticated or advanced the design is.

Axel sent the schematics on the technology to Admiral Ross to start having them constructed on various worlds and stations. All Assemblers would vary by size as the Large Assemblers would be used to construct capital ships and small space stations while the Medium sized ones would be used to create light warships and attack ships. The small Assemblers would be used to create space fighters, dropships, MCUs, small arms, vehicles, and other equipment.

The smaller Assemblers would also be able to be built on support ships to allow ground troops ships to be able to get resupplied with any munitions or small weapons that they would need.

Lastly was the Buffer field technology. The Buffer field technology was quite easy to make and would keep ships from falling towards the planet as they entered the atmosphere. And it could generate Artificial Gravity on a large scale.

By December 5th all the recently created technology was being put to good use within the UNSC. The Large Assembler Vats were being built on construction Yards and on certain stations. The medium and small Assembler Vats were being built on Planetary surfaces and onboard support vessels.

During this time Catherine had also become pregnant with her second child. She had found out in November, so she was about 1 Month pregnant and has 8 more months to go to.

At the same time Miranda had turned 13 this year and had a massive party with all of her friends who were still in middle school and their families which was attended by both Axel and Catherine. Miranda had managed to skip a few grades and now she is in Highschool with 3 years left before she graduates.

She would graduate when she was 16 and then apply for pre-enlistment training at the Officer Candidate School (OCS) on Luna. She was already becoming popular because she was the daughter of Axel and because of how she took after both her mother and father with her intelligence.

2539 January 15th

The new year had begun with a bunch of scheduled visits to colony worlds for Axel as part of a new initiative to make sure that each colony world is developing as intended and to give colonies who are struggling more help from the Government.

While he was travelling through the colonies, he had received the latest report from the Security Council members. Apparently, several facilities had successfully installed the Large Assemblers. Several capital ships were already under construction, their hulls steadily taking shape under the watchful eyes of the engineers.

A recent live-fire exercise had showed that support ships carrying small Assembler Vats were able to resupply ground troops in real-time with ammunition, weapons, and other essential supplies that were constructed and delivered to the soldiers during active engagement utilizing the new teleporters, turning the tide in the UNSC's favor.

On February 5th, Miranda completed her first semester at high school with straight A's. She received commendation for her exemplary performance in her advanced mathematics and physics courses. Only three months into high school and she was already making waves in academic circles.

Miranda had also received an invitation for an internship at the Luna Research Station for the summer holidays. It was a great opportunity and Miranda was thrilled; she would be gaining firsthand experience in the field she aspired to join.

Whenever he had time, Axel took it upon himself to help Miranda prepare for her future OCS application. He spent late nights tutoring her on military tactics while making sure to maintain a balance with her schoolwork so that she won't get overloaded with knowledge and so that she can enjoy her childhood before she joins the UNSC.

A few days later February 10th, Axel received a report from all the security council members about the successful implementation of the Officer enhancements which would enhance the Officer's ability to lead and strategize. This, combined with the continued success of teleportation and smartmatter technology, had seen a significant boost in the effectiveness and efficiency of military operations.

On Earth, the Buffer field technology has been implemented and optimized for civilian use, mainly for planetary transportation and defense systems.

Corporations were coming out with a lot of new civilian technology because of the recent discoveries of Forerunner technology allowing normal everyday civilian life to continue to be improved as the months went by. New colonies were being established as the exploration of uncharted space continued and old colonies were getting more colonist migrating to the regions because of the benefits of living on newly established colonies such as a new life, decreased taxes, and better job opportunities, thanks to the influx of investments and rapid expansion of industries.

New Governors were chosen for the newly established colonies. At the same time the UEG Senate was preparing for a massive reorg. The current UEG government held no authority and the people refused to return them to power in fear of losing all their current liberties and advancements they had gained from the recent technological progress. Therefore, it was deemed necessary to create a new structure that reflected the current state of humanity, advanced, united, and forward-thinking. The reorg was expected to be completed by late November.

In March, the UNSC held its annual council meeting. The recently created technology and its application in both civilian and military use was discussed at length. The impact of the Assembler Vat technology on the speed and efficiency of construction was incredible. It was agreed that production capabilities were at an all-time high, enabling the UNSC to bolster its defenses and prepare for any upcoming challenges.

Meanwhile, on civilian side, the use of Buffer field technology has revolutionized transportation systems. This seemed to have a domino effect in improving many aspects of civilian life from healthcare to city infrastructure. The council members agreed to fund further research in smartmatter applications for civilian purposes.

The council members were astounded by the rapid progress made in such a short amount of time and heaped praises onto Axel for his leadership and ingenuity.

It was at this meeting that Axel introduced them to an ambitious new project, Quantum Entanglement Communication (QEC). This technology would allow instantaneous communication across vast distances of space without any delay. It was a daunting task, but with their current technological prowess and resources at hand, Axel believed it was fully within reach.

On April 2nd, Catherine attended a prenatal exam; she was now five months into her pregnancy. The doctor assured them that everything was progressing as it should. Little did Axel know that he would soon have another prodigy or two following in Miranda's footsteps.

During this time, Axel continued his scheduled visits to colonies, ensuring their smooth operation and development. He also kept an eye on Miranda's progress both in school and her preparation for OCS application. Despite his busy schedule, he always managed to spare some time for both Miranda and Catherine.

On June 30th, Miranda commenced her internship at the Luna Research Station. This was a dream come true for her as she got to work with cutting-edge technology under the guidance of some of the top scientists.

Within weeks she had made a reputation for herself with her keen intellect and quick learning abilities. Her analytical skills drew attention from her supervisors who saw a bright future for her in research and development within the military sector.

As the Months passed, it was drawing near to November when the reorg of the UEG would happen, and new government would be created. Heaps of support for Axel's continued leadership came in from Billions of people across every world alongside some influential politicians and High-ranking officers in the UNSC.
