Victoria could not understand anything. At this point, her mind refused to comprehend any kind of situation that was even a little difficult to understand.
MR. Adams was about to leave, the moment his hand touched the doorknob Victoria screamed, "stop!"
His hand recoiled back in an instant and he turned around with a visible alarm on his face. "what? What is it? Are you in pain?"
"Pain?" Oh hardly, they had her dozed up on many painkillers. "No," she shook her head, "I wanted to talk to you about what you are talking about."
His eyebrows shot up briefly before he lowered them and shook his head slowly to himself. "No, we will not be talking about it right now. I said it before."
When Victoria saw the man move towards the door again, she strengthened her resolve.
"I will not do what you are asking of me when your wife arrives if you don't talk to me." Her voice was surprisingly firm given her condition but Victoria did not dare to deter from what she wanted.
