CHAPTER 69: Giant

As he made his way through the bunker, he was halted by the earth shaking.

He frowned and with a low hiss he moved towards the exit to see what had the audacity to disturb him. Of course, not without ripping out the spine of that one guard that started to scream out of nowhere.

Once he slipped out the same way he came in he placed himself on the with grass overgrown roof of the bunker his tail slowly swinging from side to side.

In the distance he saw a gigantic humanoid creature. Because of the distance and the fact that it would probably take a few minutes before the humans came to the surface, if at all, he decided to practice his soul peer ability a bit more. After all, he wanted to show that red god he wasn't completely depended on his system.

What he found was interesting to say the least. The creature was much like a demon a stain in his vision. However, it seemed to be a little off.

As it didn't seem to be heading towards the bunker, he could leave the nice stash of still living souls here and go check on the creature.

He spread out his large wings and flew off to take a look. However, once he approached, he saw a group of humans surrounding it. Some of them were on horseback, others had what was left of motorcycles.

All of them seemed to carry weapons with power they couldn't have created themselves. It was as if some demons had literally forged a part of their souls in them.

He didn't have time to question how they obtained these weapons as he was more fascinated by the gigantic creature they were about to face.

It looked like a gigantic human male with horn like growths all over its body. However, it didn't have a soul of a person, it looked more like the stain of a demon. They keyword was looked like as it definitely wasn't that.

It might have been another creation of a demon much like the weapons, but it sure as hell was a sloppy job.

One of the humans on horse back could no longer wait for a sign of the group and fearlessly drove his horse forwards followed by the yells of his teammates.

With incredible speed he slashed through the heel of the creature using the long demonic sword he held. With a loud roar it lowered itself onto all fours and reached out to his teammates that now were starting the attack as well.

Now being able to reach its stomach the man tore it open as he rushed towards his team that was being crushed by the hands of the giant.

Only, he wasn't fast enough. Though his teammates had managed to quite literally disarm the creature, however at the cost of their life.

Screaming and crying the man drove his horse forward until the giant collapsed its maw closing on him and his horse.

At this point Sirin descended and landed on top of the giant to take the pathetic replacement of a soul the creature had. He frowned as he swallowed the chaotic mess. Instead of a new species showing up in the system or an already existing species gaining an extra soul he just got a whole bunch of errors in the system before his magic went up thirty points.

His magic was rather low, so he didn't mind but it was still a shame he never found out what it was. Sadly, he didn't have much time to ponder on this as the man between the maw of the beast wouldn't be alive for very long if he Sirin didn't intervene.

Playfully he jumped off the creature and landed in the tall grass.

He quickly entered the mind of the man though he couldn't read more than just surface level stuff about his life. But that was fine. He cheerfully crouched down in front of him, his tail wagging back and forth.

"Well, hello there, Denis I assume?"

He leaned forward his face nearly teaching that of the dying man.

"Seems like you got into quite the mess. How about this? I'll patch you up and in return you tell me where you found those pretty, shiny sharp stuff. Well? Do we have a deal?"

"Piss off demon." The man mumbled as he reached for the gun on his hip. But he found he had way too little strength to actually grab it.

Sirin frowned. "You know, you can't shoot me when you're dead. And what a pathetic death it would be. I mean I can pump you full of magic right here and now and patch you right up. What would your little friends think of that? You couldn't save them, so instead of righting your wrongs you chose not to safe yourself."

Sirin frowned and tapped the man a few times in his face as he didn't respond.

He sighed and stood up. "Aw fuck it, why not."

He pulled the half dead man out of the maw of the beast and filled the man's body with magic. After that he forced the body to heal, since he didn't feel like taking great care, he basically aged the man to the point where his wounds would have healed naturally if he had survived on his own.

He would definitely notice that when he wakes up, but Sirin didn't care, he would just come up with an excuse along the lines of this being the only way or say that it was just a temporary effect of the healing.

Since he had some time to spare before the man would wake up, he ate the souls of the mans fallen comrades. He pulled the horse out of the mouth of the giant as well, he hadn't eaten its soul yet, but he was curious what would happen if he tired to force it back into the corpse.

Oooh what’s this??? I didn’t drop it after all this time.
