CHAPTER 70: not talking

In quite a rude manner he shoved the soul of the horse back into the corpse.

Wit the sound of cold flesh forcing itself to move and broken bones scraping against each other the undead creature crawled up and stumbled forward.

Needles to say Sirin was quite proud of his work and circled around the creature. The horse didn't even bother to follow him with its gaze.

It wasn't revived. Far from it. He even questioned if this thing was truly undead or just a flesh puppet powered by the same energy he usually would have eaten.

He fooled around with the horse some more, trying to find out of what this moving corpse was capable of. As it turned out, it was basically just a remote marionet. It could barely act on its own, but Sirin could control all its movements, and since he brought it to 'life' it was a lot easier to look through its eyes as it basically no longer had a mind, he needed to take over first. However, the horse was too damaged to be a useful puppet.

As he had still some time before his new friend, Denis would wake up, he tried his new transformation fusion ability.

As he had just been focusing on his natural abilities that simply came with being a demon, or well, mostly being a demon, he hadn't had the time to try the new skill he had received with the unlocked system.

As he didn't have any idea how it should work, he turned to the system with his question.

[insert unlocked species you wish to combine]

He sighed. Of course, it had to work as crap as this. How in the void was he supposed to use this in battle if he had to manually select what he wanted to fuse? All he could was to just bite his tongue and hope that if he were to level up, the ability would be less annoying.

For better or for worse, he could decide on his own how the species would combine. On his first attempt he only gave himself the throat and fire glands of a flame demon, to burn the corpse of the horse as it was pretty unsightly.

However, trouble started to arise when he attempted to do more than one species at a time. Even if he didn't throw his base form into the mix the same problem would occur. Since he had to decide on his own how he would mix the species he had to take into consideration how different body parts interacted with each other. Otherwise, it would surely be a sight to behold yet extremely uncomfortable or even painful for him.

He was silently cursing and plucking some harpy feathers out of his hair be fore deciding that it wasn't worth it and just turned back into his normal self.

While still pondering on how to fix this oh so annoying problem, he was disturbed by the sound of something moving through the grass.

With a wide grin he turned to look at the man who was just now starting to wake up though the demon felt a slight regret for not messing with him in his sleep.

He grabbed the man by his throat and pulled him up. "Well, oh well. Look who finally woke up. Did you sleep well? Care to tell me about any nice dreams you had before I break open your mind and look for them myself?"

The man didn't answer. How could he while he was being held by his throat?

The demon sighed and dropped Denis back onto the floor, still being careful enough to not break any bones as he didn't want to 'heal' the man again.

"Alright enough shit chat, mammal. Why did you hunt that thing, where did it come from, and how did you get those pretty, shiny weapons?"

The man responded by trying to hit the demon in the face. Sirin, who was now quite annoyed by his abilities not working how he wanted them to and having to wait all this time for the man to wake up, bit him in return.

Before the man could grasp his wound Sirin had already chape shifted back and forth to scorch the wounded flesh.

"Still not talking, are we?"

"Go fuck yourself, fiend."

Sirin shrugged. "Whatever. Ill just go and have a quick snack. What would you prefer? To tag along or should I just leave you here with that horse of yours?"

The demon waited for a few seconds for the human to respond though it was of no use.

He grinned maniacally as he stood up and transformed into a shade demon. "Alright then, I'm not pure evil. Ill leave you here so you can say goodbye to your companion. How about that?"

Not waiting for an answer, the demon dragged Denis halfway into the shadow of the giant before climbing out himself.

"The fuck has you done to me demon!"

Sirin gently smiled before changing back and unfolding his wings. "Oh, don't worry about it. You're still in one piece. Its just that you're not entirely here. Just try not to move too much and the creatures in the shadows will leave you alone before I come back."

He kicked off the ground and flew back towards the bunker. Where soon no more screams could be heard.

Woa new chapter. Must be fake news
