There were was a sudden silence in the area the moment we arrived. At first, I thought that it was certainly my appearance in the gathering that had led to the silence, but once I looked carefully it was easy to notice that the eyes of everyone present was not on me but rather on Adishri.

According to the traditions in this era, I had to be announced by my subordinate when entering a gathering that had unfamiliar guests. This was so that the people already present in the gathering are prepared mentally to greet the new guest among them. It was also to make the said guest avoid embarrassment of reaching out to others without understanding others. Once the name, position and associated influence was announced, the guests inside the room could discern among themselves on who best to take a step into welcoming them in the group.
