Dinner Luck

It was nearly dusk when the medical team finished treating everyone. They also made sure that there are enough medicines and vitamins for the civilians to intake until they are better. They also left some procedures for treating their wounds and how to use the medicinal herbs that was around the area for healthy precautions. After bidding good bye, they started their departure once again.

Aka didn't see Liam around as he remembered that the kid was an outcast, some part of him wanted to take the kid at the colonized area but then again, he don't want to interfere with something he isn't obliged. Aside from that, the kid also mentioned that he has to look for his old grandmother that's why he is unable to leave this place no matter how cruel the treatment was.

For some reason, he felt that his humanity is coming back piece by piece if only that was the truth or just his false delusion only.

After wards, they arrived back at the main area but in there surprise, the people set up a grand bonfire in a middle of an empty field. There are also many various artful papers that was designed skillfully and was hanging everywhere. Many colorful lights was located at everywhere part of the area. The ambience was dazzling and relaxing and it feels like as if there is no trouble at all. It's similar to those famous elegant festivals.

"Oh, it's September 1st! I think it was Borgzpit Thanksgiving Day" Caelan stated the moment they get out from the vehicle and saw the grand preparation.

"It's like a festival to me" Aka said back as they walk toward their tents

"Anyway it looks fun" Caelan exclaimed as he stare at the lustrous decorations. He wondered how are they able to make it this good though, they're still in crisis. The people here was really creative and he had to admit that. One thing that is enjoyable being a soldier is that being sent in places like this that has a distinct culture and tradition and they got to know more things, well that's some of the few privileged only.

Aka just continued walking uninterested about the what-not, He prefer to rest than to meddle with the crowd. He can't with stand the smell of people and he is akin to that of a Hyperosmia which is a heighted sense of smell. The mash-up odors be might a natural scent or a perfume coming from many people Is a total torment to him. Although, it was a good advantage in the battle field it's the complete opposite when dealing with people, that's the reason why he always tend to avoid the crowd.

"Aren't you coming? The dinner is served over there" Caelan said when he noticed that Aka keeps walking away from the area

"I'm not hungry at the moment" Aka replied back unbothered and continued walking away

"Fine whatever!" Caelan yelled back and he disappeared off to the bonfire zone, he knows how to have fun and would really seize this moment.

Aka on the other hand, he didn't falter and he entered his perspective tent. Nobody is around the camping area and it seemed they all went to the event. He removed his vest and wore a military shirt he can clearly hear just how lively the people are there but it doesn't affect him at all.

When he went out to get some air away from the disturbance, he encountered a woman about on her 40's. The woman has a kind smile.

"You might be Captain Reagan?' asked the woman politely

Aka nod in response

"Someone asked me to invite you over for dinner, it's bad if you don't eat, especially, you just came from a task on the other side of the island" the woman added with a good intentions. Aka cursed Caelan secretly inside.

"Come on, the rest already started eating besides, the Thanksgiving day is being celebrated tonight, although the preparation wasn't good at all, the people really made an effort for it" further stated the woman

"The preparation was just fine" Aka replied as the two of them started walking toward the dinning area that was just near the bonfire zone. When he entered, as usual everyone attention suddenly drifted right at him but he just shrug and went to get some food.

While holding his food tray, he spotted Caelan and the moment he went near, he smacked the two tone haired man head.

"Ow! What's that for?" Caelan retorted as he massaged his head, that smack nearly crack his skull!

"You're really looking for trouble" Aka hissed but then, he noticed that there is no empty spot in the long table. When his troop mates was about to stand to offer him the seat, he spoke-

"You guys continue to eating, I'll find some empty spot" Aka told them and leave

"Why do you need to be so rude to the captain? Look at his expression, it's clear that he isn't pleased" Cain whispered over Caelan. It's clear that everyone in this 107th unit really respected Aka and would do everything for him.

"I'm just being nice because he doesn't want to eat! Then, do you rather prefer that our dear captain would be starved?" Caelan cajoled as he took a mouthful bite on the savory meat. The food they serve here was really good and it's like as if he is in a five star restaurant.

"You and your schemes, lieutenant" Cain said back as he also continued eating

"That serves him right, he is always crude to me" Caelan secretly mocked with schadenfreude unaware that he will reap what he sow at the end of the day. Especially it was Aka, that man is a certified storm.

Aka find an empty table at the very corner but it was just fine to him so he didn't hesitate. When he is about to pull the chair he noticed that the other chair just in front of the table was also pulled. This is a single table with a two chair in opposite.

When he looked up, he was stunned, he saw Eri.

Eri was also the same, she was unable to say something as their gazes lock. One has an attractive dark pupils and was unknown while the other one was greyish and rare but insensitive.

"Sorry.. I'm going to look for other seat" Eri was the first one to speak as she was about to leave

"What are you talking about? This is the only available spot" Aka stated as he gaze at this enchanting lady

Eri didn't find any excuse since it's clearly visible that all seats are taken. She give up and settled and started eating but she kept her head low. Aka also started eating as he watch her.

The atmosphere was really awkward

They have encountered each other before and this wasn't the first time but the feeling is adverse.

Eri was hoping that she would finished her meal in a speed and leave right away while Aka was eating in leisure and he was reliance that time would pass by slowly. He was amused on watching her hasten moves.

There are many questions he wanted to ask but he was not capable of blurting those words. He just needs time and he is in no rush and it's like as if the prey would disappear once again when he already set his hunting eyes to it.

There's no letting go this time for sure

He wanted to finish that complicated puzzle of hers
